What's Next Lord? Here We Go Again!!!

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight!

Have you ever had the phone ring and a pit immediately formed in your stomach?

For the past few months Ken and I both have been sensing "change".   We have been feeling something shift in the spirit but not really knowing what.   Normally, I sense it first....and then when Ken does whatever "it" is, soon becomes reality.   I don't know why God typically tells me first other than maybe He knows that I'm a planner.  I need time to prepare.   Where Ken is more spontaneous and goes with the flow.

When the Lord first showed us Montana, it was New Year's Eve and we were watching a show called Cedar Cove.  Mostly watched it because it had such beautiful scenery.  Filmed in British Columbia, Canada but portrayed off the coast of Seattle.   I remember that night watching the show and I said to the Lord,  "Why don't you move us some place like that to do the vision You have for us instead of boondocks Missouri?"   And that was the beginning stages of our move here to BEAUTIFUL MONTANA!    When we crossed over state line - my
spirit leapt and it sensed we were HOME!!   (I even have the shirt to prove it, lol).    The Lord would have to pry me out of here...and especially our Valley.  I told Him I wanted to die here!

A couple of nights ago, I was lying in bed unable to sleep and I had a similar feeling as when I was watching that show Cedar Cove.  I said to the Lord, "How much longer must we be in this house, in the city and not in the destiny you have for us?"    Well, yesterday, He decided to answer that question.   My phone rang.  It was our landlord.  Let me first start by saying she has only called us one other time and that was to schedule a time to meet with us and sign a new lease and raise the rent.   So, a pit began to form when I saw her name on the caller id.   I answered the phone and her first comments were, "would you like to buy the house?"   My response, was I wish we could afford too because I knew where the conversation was heading.  She went on to say that they decided to sell then house and asked when a realtor could come take pictures.   My stomach dropped!  The floor is falling out from under us once again!!

Let me give you some back story.   When the Lord first showed us moving away from Kansas City to El Dorado Springs, MO - we had 60 days notice to pack and find a new place to live.  The night before our move, our movers called and asked us where they were taking our belongings and our response was can we let you know in the morning because we did NOT know yet!!   We ended up living in temporary housing for 3 weeks and stored our stuff until a rental opened up.

Next we lived in that house for five months.  The landlord called us one day and said we are selling the house.  We had a lease but that didn't matter.  The house sold instantly.  We still had no place to go on a Wednesday and we had to be out by Sunday.   On Saturday, we found a rental and moved in.   That was pretty intense!!

Next when God was moving us from that last house in Missouri to Montana.  He told us we were moving 3 years in advance.  However, it wasn't until two months before the actual move before we could find a place to rent.  We rented sight unseen.   We had to and gladly chose to give up probably 95% of all our belongings to keep costs down on moving and to fit in the small place that opened up.     We were thankful because no one wanted to rent to us here unless we had jobs and no one would give us jobs without living here.  The rent was double what we were used too but this was the only open door!   But God!!!

Next we lived in that place for about 2.5 years.  Had a great relationship with our landlord or so we thought.  The wife even came to our home group.   But one night we got a text and were told we had to be out in 30 days.   They wouldn't talk to us, wouldn't give us a reason just blatantly and rudely said get out.  Even had us served papers to be out.    So for the next 30 days desperately trying to find a place to live - nothing in this area was affordable and really nothing available. But with less than 2 weeks to spare, God opened up this home we are in now.  Again, the rent doubled and God came through.  It has served us well.  It was truly an answer to prayer for more space to host home group and entertain and show hospitality.    When we moved into this place, I asked the Lord if we could please, please stay here until such time He moves us into destiny.   And when that time came, not to rush it, not to have it be chaotic and stressful but that we could slip out with ease!

We've been feeling the "grace" lift on this place. Not because it's a bad home or anything.  We are content here.  It's just the feeling we get when we know God is about to do something new.   He has been giving us tell tale signs He's used in the past, so why were we shocked?

Well, the call came as you heard above.   We have to move out!  As far as I know we have until end of July, but will keep you posted!   That's when our lease is up but we know from previous experience how that might not be the case.

Fear wants to take over my thought life but as I look back, I can see God's hand in every move. I can see how He has upgraded us each time and the provision for the increases were there.   We don't know our next steps yet other than PACKING!!   I am asking God in prayer to please reveal our next spot before the end of this month, so we know exactly how to pack or whether we have to get rid of stuff again.    There is a great tension of excitement and adventure but also of stress, chaos and hopelessness.

We are taking this day by day...trusting God for His provision.  We are trusting the perfect place will open up to us.  We are praying and believing for His promises to come to pass in our lives!!     Please be in agreement with us for a beautiful next step!

In the meantime, we continue to host home group, bless others with encouraging words and ministry and host people in our home.

Prayer requests/praise reports!

I've been struggling with some pretty severe pain still in my back, my feet and little to no sleep.   I've been begging God to take me home if healing isn't part of His plan.  I am weary on every level.  Soul tired!   Finances have been super tight and wondering how rent will get paid next month.  I've been applying for jobs and God has been keeping the doors shut tight!   I feel He wants me to write my books which I'm working on my cookbook now but that doesn't pay the bills. OH and  I begin a contest Favorite Chef 3/31.. so if you want to vote for me daily, that would be great!  https://favchef.com/2025/michele-cole.  If I win, I get $25,000... featured in Taste of Home Magazine and get to cook with a professional chef!

Ken is still painting full time.  He is feeling grace departing from that as well...but stays plugging along until such time God has something different.  His boss is really good to him and he doesn't mind the work.   Ken is having to have much more dental work.  He just got his first crown being done from his emergency dental procedure last October.  That's another huge expense... that only God can fund!   The end of April, he will have more work done and the dentists is offering to do free in a clinical setting with other dentists watching.  So that's one way God helps provide for us.

Our car - the infiniti that kind of died (just not safe to drive)... long story short it's possible we have friends that think they have found the part needed.  The part is not made anymore -which is weird for a 2006... and so it's a needle in a haystack.     We would love to fix the car so we can sell it along with the other one and upgrade.  Both cars are old and high mileage.   We would love something newer and a larger suv so we can get along with snowy weather better.

Thank you for your prayers and support of what God is doing in and through us!!

Hugs, love and prayers.

Vision

God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.

The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord.

We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating people into the world & health and wellness retreats and more.

The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but better help them be ready to serve in their church.

In our community building - we will eventually have a 24/7 prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.

Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more souls into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!  We also have a passion to give generously to help those in need and to help others launch into their God given destinies.

In Just a Little While ........

Hebrews 10:37  For,

“In just a little while,
he who is coming will come
    and will not delay.”

This verse is a promise of the Lord's return.  Hallelujah!

Recently I asked the Lord a question.  I asked "How much longer must I endure?"  I heard in just a little while.  He said look up the bible verse with those words.  His answer was Hebrews 10:37.

Who do you know that has been persevering in "a" circumstance for a very long time?  It may even be you.  Has one thing after another setback afflicted your life, your family, your health, your finances?

There’s hope.   The writer in Hebrews says that in just a little while, He who is coming, will come and not delay.   Though this passage is talking about when Jesus returns, I believe we can use this promise to cling to even today.

As I was studying out that passage, I came across this commentary -

Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary

10:32-39 Many and various afflictions united against the early Christians, and they had a great conflict. The Christian spirit is not a selfish spirit; it puts us upon pitying others, visiting them, helping them, and pleading for them.

Let’s talk about this.  It talks about the early Christians.  They had great conflict and many and various afflictions.  Sound familiar to your life or someone you know?  I’m raising my hand!!!!

Do we have a part in this?  When another believer is going through the ringer what are “WE” to do?    The commentary says it this way “The Christian spirit is not a selfish spirit; it puts us upon pitying others, visiting them, helping them, and pleading for them.”

God in His mercy and grace will often put someone on my heart to pray for.  I may or may not know the reason, but it is my part to pray.  It requires immediate obedience!   If the Lord tells me to do something for them, that too requires immediate obedience because anything delayed is really disobedience.  The Lord doesn’t have to use people to help people, BUT He chooses to use us to bring glory to Him.

Are you listening?  Are you willing to do whatever HE asks of you?  Are you willing to help and plead for them and have pity on them?   We are to help our brothers and sisters in Christ so that they can be encouraged and strengthened in the Lord.  We are to meet their needs whatever God asks!  Sometimes it’s just a simple call or a visit along with prayer.  Sometimes it’s practical and requires effort.   And sometimes it means giving up something we hold dear.

This past couple of weeks we have been hit hard financially.  Not only did our rent go up significantly this month, Ken found out he has to have emergency dental work - two root canals and crowns… along with much more.  The root canals so far are being estimated around $6400.  Thankfully we have a friend who owns a dental lab and he has offered to cover the cost of the two crowns.  That saves us a little but not as much as we hoped because the local dentist said the "lab" fees weren't that much.   Recently our car has had some “safety” issues.  We just paid $549 to fix one of them and the next one is $1943.  They require $1500 up front to pay for the cost of the part.  And did I mention that our fairly new freezer malfunctioned and we lost ALL our meat and seafood.  Estimated around $1000.  The freezer part will be covered, but they are not covering the food loss.  I am working with the BBB and Corporate Maytag but not holding my breath.  The have been pretty adamant they will not reimburse us!  This had made me sick to my stomach.  I am extra frugal when I shop.  I stock up when sales are on and Ken vacuum seals all of it so it lasts a long time.  This has been stuff we’ve been buying for a year or more.   Thankfully Costco where we purchased it offered us $100 gift card for some of the loss.

I have to have some medical tests which equate to $300 this week.  I had a scary thing happen as well.  I experienced “kaleidoscope vision” for about 30 minutes and then a major headache to go with it.  If you haven’t experienced this, let me say it is beyond freaky and quite scary.  All I could see was blurry and colors swirling around.   I asked my doctor about it and he said that it could be stress, migraine or stroke.   Well that’s great!!  Let’s add one more thing to my extremely long list of afflictions!!!  I am beyond weary!!!  Pain levels have been over the top with no relief in sight.  Let's just say that this song is one I've been playing on repeat.... https://youtu.be/jc-WPCQs6RI?feature=shared

The Lord knew how difficult things are so He sent quite a few friends reaching out to me to pray.  They all said something similar - that I have been on their heart and they have been praying almost non-stop for me.   They listened and acted.  Praise God!  If they hadn't, who knows where this would have led.

I had a friend reach out to me Monday and say that they were sending me $601 because the Lord told them too.  I asked why $601 and they said because that was how much they had saved as a nest egg and it became an idol to them.  Wow!!!   The Lord will bless her obedience and sacrifice!!!

After suggesting to Ken that he ask if he could work some extra on Saturday's, his   boss asked him to work this weekend a few hours.  Our church asked Ken to do a small painting job for pay.   Every little bit helps!

The Lord is definitely working through people who are willing to listen and obey His voice.  We are not anywhere close to out of the woods, but we are trusting Jesus for everything.   It’s encouraging to me when someone takes the time to reach out and ask how they can pray…or just offers an encouraging word.

I am wiling always Lord.  Use me, spend me however You see fit!

God desires us to be His hands and feet.  Are we willing?   Do we have enough compassion and kindness in us to help those who need to be pulled out of the pit, encouraged and strengthened in the Lord.  If we don’t, well maybe it’s about time we asked for it.  Here’s a good song to listen to - https://youtu.be/-08YZF87OBQ?feature=shared.     God wants us to love others as He loves us!   Every good and perfect gift comes from Him.  Every blessing we have comes from Him!!  Freely you have received, freely give!

So - if any of this resonates with you and you want or need prayer or have another need, please message me.  It's an honor to come alongside and do what I can to keep you in the race, to hold your arms up when you don't think you can go on.

Thank you for your continued prayers for us!  We do appreciate it!  Luke 6:38

Hugs, love and prayers.

Be Careful What You Watch! Trafficking!

I will set no base or wicked thing before my eyes. I hate the work of them who turn aside [from the right path]; it shall not grasp hold of me.  Psalm 101:3

What do you watch on TV?  At the movies? On the internet?

Recently the Sound of Freedom movie came to theaters.  It's a movie about trafficking.  It exposes the darkest ugliest crime on humanity, mostly woman and children.  It exposes how evil man can be.   I did not go see this move mostly due to a check in my spirit. (this article I have not fact checked yet but still confirms what the check was in my spirit - https://julieroys.com/opinion-sound-of-freedom-doesnt-tell-true-story-of-operation-underground-railroad/?mc_cid=d0cda8de77&mc_eid=c4e7607c65)   I have seen other similar storylines in the years past.  I understand the importance that the movie is trying to convey and that is to bring something so dark into the light and to hopefully influence people to become involved in stopping this horrific evil!

When we first got saved in 2002, the Lord told us to turn off the TV.  We were not to watch anything on the TV including the news.  We were obedient.    For 10+ years we did not watch TV.  We occasionally went to a movie but only if it was faith based.  We screen everything we watch on Dove Movie Review, Commonsense Media or others that tell us what's in the movie.  If it has any kind of foul language, violence, nudity or even cleavage or uses God's name in vain, we will not watch it.  That is our conviction.

Over the last 10 years or so we slowly added some shows back in.  We stream Hallmark and faith-filled movies.  That has been a way for us to unwind in the evening.  It helps us to detach from the stresses of the day and fill our minds with something maybe inspiring or at least uplifting.    Unfortunately, the dynamics of ALL movies being produced these days are being flooded with every evil agenda.  Hallmark isn't so family friendly anymore.  Even faith-filled movies are pretty provocative and becoming more lax and loose on what they show.

I want to make two points.....

1.  What are we filling our minds with?  What are we allowing into our eyes and ears?  Is it godly?  Is it evil?   Would we watch it if Jesus was sitting next to us?   Do you realize that when we support Hollywood, we are supporting trafficking?   That leads me to point 2.

2.  Trafficking is a lucrative business.  It not only involves the taking of innocent women and children to be used and abused and often ends in death.   It is what funds drugs, Hollywood, violent crimes and a whole host of other things that would curl your toes.

I am getting convicted once again, to turn off the TV, to stop supporting Hollywood and that even includes Angel Productions which produced Sound to Freedom and The Chosen.  These organizations are not godly.  They do not have Biblical Christian Values.   When we did this years ago.... we had the most fun.  God would send us out and use us mightily to make a difference in people's lives.   I have been praying and asking God to help me have that again and His response is turn off the TV once again.

A friend and prophet once told us, let your money do the talking.  If we want to make a difference and be part of God's end-time army, we need to stop supporting evil.    I was first introduced to this when I was in the mortgage business and part of Kingdom Advisors.  It's a ministry to equip financial professionals on how to be better stewards.  They introduced us all to another ministry called Biblically Responsible Investing.   They showed us how many of the companies are in big support of evil practices, supporting porn and things that are totally against the Scriptures.  We need to be mindful of where we spend our monies.   We can't be sold out to the Lord and have one foot in Satan's camp.

Our lives must be in complete alignment with the Truth of God's Word.   Our words and our actions must scream to a broken and hurting world that we are set apart, that we look different than the crowd.   Jesus wants to use us to reach the great harvest but if we are busy being like the world, we will have no impact.

Some questions to ponder....

1.  Look at your checkbook - where is your money going?  Is it going to support Kingdom projects and ministries? Is it supporting those in need?  Or is it funding me, me, me.   Ouch!

2.  Look at what you watch and listen to - is it godly?  Is it supporting bible based Christian values?

3.  Look at your day to day activities - how is your time spent?  Are we living out the gospel to a lost world?  Are we reaching out to fellow believers and encouraging them and helping through difficult times?

4.  Last but definitely not least - how much time are we actually spending studying, memorizing and putting the Word of God into practice?   This should be our priority. Matthew 6:33.   This is a must!  God must be first in our lives.

I know this blog is probably a little debbie-downer but one that I felt the Lord asked me to share.  There is no condemnation or judgement but hopefully just the Holy Spirit speaking through me to bring Truth and light to very gray area in the Christian faith.    I certainly don't have it mastered but I will say I strive daily to be a doer of the Word.  I make choices every day and throughout the day to be more godly, to be more bible-acting-believing-light filled to a lost world.   I want to be so full of Jesus that people will say I want what she has.  I want others to know Jesus.

Please message me your prayer requests....as I do spend much time interceding for many.

Praise/Prayer....

Ken has been keeping full time hours this summer and it's a hot one.  We are thankful for the work.  Please pray for his safety as up on roofs and high ladders and in scorching heat.

Our home group is still going wonderfully.... we so love the fellowship and authenticity it brings.

Book update - I have submitted a query application to a book publisher about a week ago.  My pastor's wife suggested I send it there. She has had 4 books published through them.  If I hear back in the next 30 days, they are interested, if not, we wait and seek God for an open door and the finances to publish through self-publishing.   I am beginning to actually write my 2nd book.  I had been collecting research and quips to put in the book.   I will be looking for stories for that one as well.  More to come.

We are still contending for the Vision God has given us.

Thankful for Montana - the beautiful views - mountains, creeks and big blue sky!  Thankful for all God is doing in our lives!   Thankful for YOU!

Hugs, love and prayers.

A Lesson from Jehoshaphat on Battles!

2 Chronicles 20:17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you

How many times have we seen this verse? Do we actually believe it?  Can we ask God for help and then take our hands off the wheel and let Him do it? Do we ask for prayer and then actually take the time to listen to His response?  Do we act in obedience to the response given?

Somebody in our Sunday School class recently said "Do we read what we believe? Or do we believe what we read?"  Did you catch that?   Do we read and only believe what we already believe  (whether true or not) or do we actually take God at His Word and believe what we read?  That is a pretty profound statement.

To me, that is true faith.

Then Jesus told him, “Because you have seen me, you have believed;

blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.  John 20:29

Have you faced a battle in your life?  A loved one who became ill with a serious illness?  A financial loss so great you didn't know where your next meal would come from?  A child who is far from the Lord despite all the efforts to teach them about Jesus?

What was your prayer to the Lord?  What did the Lord speak to you?  Did He tell you He would bring you through?  Did he say He would provide for you?  Did you listen to His voice

I have a bazillion examples of times God spoke to me in relation to a prayer.....but did I truly heed His voice and trust what He said?   I remember one time I was asking for healing.  I was desperate for immediate relief (that's pretty often).  But this one time, He took me to the passage where He told the disciples to get in the boat and go to the other side.  A big storm came upon them and they were afraid.  They thought they were going to drown.  I did too.  I did not think I would ever survive what I was going through.  I thought death was knocking.  Jesus didn't tell his disciples to get in the boat and they would drown.  He said get in the boat and go to the other side.  God gave them reassurance even before they got in the boat.  But when the storm came, they forgot what He had said or they just didn't have the faith to TRUST Him and take Him at His Word!   Wow!  Ouch!  Conviction once again!

I am still not to the other side.  I do not know how far until I reach the shoreline.  If I truly focus on Jesus, I can see Him on dry land waiting for me.  He is cheering me on.  He is showing me that there is hope.  That He didn't bring me this far to leave me.   The storms keep coming. The finances dried up and we don't know what to do.  The pain and sleepless nights rage on.  But one thing I do know with weak wobbly knees at times, is that He has promised me, I/we will get to the other side.   He is faithful.  I can trust Him.  My heart and flesh may fail at times, but the Lord will never fail me or you!  He who began a good work will finish it!  You can trust Him.  You can read His Word and believe what it says!

Is there a storm in your life that seems to never end? Take a minute to think about it.   What has God spoken to you specifically in this situation?  Will you hear what He says and Trust Him for the outcome.  Will you trust Him to bring you through?

Jehoshaphat was a man that we could heed much wisdom from.  At least in 2 Chronicles 20.  He knew God intimately enough to know that He could trust Him.  He did 3 things that are great life lessons for us!

1.  He prayed!

2.  He listened for God's still small voice

3.  He responded in obedience to what the Lord instructed!

Here's a good prayer paraphrased from some of the verses in 2 Chronicles 20.

v6 Power and might are in your hand Lord and no one can withstand you.  v12  We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on YOU.” v15 The Lord will say to me.. ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this difficult circumstance.   For the battle is not yours, but Mine, says the Lord. v16 take up your positions dear one; stand firm on My Word and see the deliverance that the Lord will give you.   Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face whatever it is,  and the Lord will be with you.’” v18 Stand up and praise the Lord, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice. v21 Sing to the Lord and to praise him for the splendor of his  holiness as then  go out at the head of this trial saying: “Give thanks to the Lord,  for his love endures forever.” v22 As you begin to sing and praise, the Lord will set ambushes against whatever is coming against you and He will lead you into VICTORY!   in Jesus mighty name.  Amen!

Oh the freedom it brings to one soul when we finally get this.  Not that I have arrived, but the light bulb is burning a tad brighter.  My confidence in the Lord is increasing.  My faith is growing deeper and wider.  This is the Good News of Christ!

Psalm 112:7 NIV They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them.

How can I pray for you?  What can I stand in agreement with you for?  Life is difficult for many these days.  The world is in chaos.  Our country is being led by ungodly leaders and leading us down a pretty dismal path.  But God!  God is our hope, our refuge and our strong tower.

We do not know what our future holds, but we do know who holds our tomorrow.  Author unknown.

Prayers and Praise

1.  Ken is getting at least 30-35 hours a week of work.  There are a couple of side jobs he may have in the near future.  Thankful for his willingness to work 6 days a week if necessary, though its hard on him physically.  Painting - up & down ladders, bending over and all that takes a toll on him.  His body needs rest.  Please pray for his endurance and strength.

2.  God has given me a couple days of reprieve (not consecutively) but lesser pain which is tolerable.  I am thankful.   Covet your ongoing prayers for complete healing!

3.  We continue to believe that He will make a way with our finances....everyday expenses, food, rent & utilities.  Now that we are not paying for our neighbors electricity (she was attached to our meter for the first 5 months) our electric bill has gone down by $140.   Thankful for the living space and peaceful neighborhood we live in.

4.  God is quiet on the "destiny property" front.... there was a sense things were shifting.... and they may still be.... but not hearing much.  Contending and trusting....as the vision is so needed.

NEED YOUR HELP:

5..  I am FINALLY writing my books again with the help of a good friend.  I talk (that's easy) she types and she is getting it proofed and organized.  The first book I am writing is about prayer.  IF you would please reach out to me, I would love to solicit from you a story about something you prayed for and how God answered it.  I will scribe, you talk.  Will you do that for me please?  The other books will follow....
