Going Against the Grain!

Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. John 12:24

If there was one thing you could do right now that would make you stand out from the world, what would it be?  How can you reflect your trust in the Lord to a chaotic world we live in right now?

Yesterday, Ken was at work at 4am.  It was truck day, so that means stocking the shelves.  When they opened the doors at 7am, there was a crowd of people waiting.  Within one hour, the shelves were bare.  One lady had 2 carts full of toilet paper, food, cleaning supplies and more.  Ken made a comment to her about saving some for others.  She didn't even acknowledge Ken, she just hurried to check out.  I have seen Facebook post after post of similar stories - greed and desperation.  Many who are out of control in panic and fear.   The world as we know it has definitely changed.   Another way to respond is faith in the Lord -- that He will supply ALL of our needs, Phil 4:19.  Someone we know had asked if the truck where Ken works would have toilet paper on it.  I text this person early Thursday morning to say yes, but hurry in.  They text back and said they found one pack elsewhere so decided not to come and get anymore.  They didn't want to "hoard".   That may seem trivial, but in small town, that's huge.  We only have 1 grocery store in town and 1 small health food store.  And our closest Walmart is a half hour away.  Last week when we stopped in for a few items, the shelves were empty.  No eggs, no bread, no paper products, very little on aisle after aisle.  You know this if you've been out recently.

As you know Ken and I are preparing to move across the country in April.  Matter of fact, our movers are scheduled for 4/9-4/10 to load the skeleton amount of stuff we need to take.  We are definitely going against the grain and doing the opposite of what the world is doing.   The "world" says stock up, hoard, buy everything you can.   We are not!  We are not buying food or other supplies as we are trying to go through what we have.  We may even have to sell or give away some freezer items. I have never made a move like this and so it is definitely an interesting scenario to discern what to do with what's left.  Do we take it and pack it in dry ice, so we have food on the other end?  The store shelves are bare everywhere.  Or do we trust God to make provision?  The same is true with our contents of our home to lighten the load and keep costs down.  That leaves us with possibly sleeping on a blow up mattress in our new place, eating at a cart table (maybe if it doesn't sell) as we sold our kitchen table.  It means living out of boxes verses having a place to put our clothes (as we have a buyer coming for our bedroom set today)   It means eating off paper plates (we have some) so we can sell our kitchen items.

One other thing we are going to do, is after our big moving sale next week, anything left will be given to those in need around here.  There is much need.   I posted the other day for sale 3 boxes of pillows, sheets and some blankets.  I cannot tell you how many people asked for it for free if it didn't sell.   That broke my heart.  So I go back to my original thoughts and prayers.   I've been asking the Lord for wisdom - do we give it ALL way and trust Him for His miraculous provision or do we continue to sell and try to raise the funds we need to move.

I had a dream the other night.  We were in Colorado - like that's where we were moving.  We stopped at some couple's home that we knew.   They were going to take us to the ministerial alliance to meet some people but before we left their home, they said they wanted to give us a van.  It was an older high mileage van.  When I woke up, I was actually discouraged and sad.  I was questioning this dream to the Lord.  I was asking Him if He was changing our plans to move to Colorado instead and not that we would be ungrateful but getting an older van was not what He has promised.  So, I pressed in and asked the Lord for revelation.   Here's what I felt He said.  Colorado means Providence - an act of God.  A van represents ministry.  Ministerial Alliance is just that.   He said, that our move to Montana is going to be providential, an act of God and our ministry there would be established as He has shown us. He said that those in the church would be an alliance with us in this new endeavor.  He is literally going to part the "Red Sea".   Here's our Red Sea-  There is talk right now that they may shut down the borders between states, especially the states that have a higher number of COVID-19 cases like Colorado.  Each State we go through, I've contacted Department of Transportation and they said check back daily!!!   Also, they have been closing down rest stops, use of gas stations except for gas and of course all public places are closing down across the country.  (Where will we pit stop?)  Truckers are already complaining about this big time!!

Below the shield, on a scroll, is the motto, "Nil Sine Numine", Latin words meaning"Nothing without providence" or "nothing without the Deity"!

  • As Christians, we should live by faith in the Lord - nothing without Him!!  Habbukuk 2:4 “Look at the proud! They trust in themselves, and their lives are crooked. But the righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.
  • As Christians, we should trust God to meet our needs.
  • As Christians we should be set apart - that means look DIFFERENT than the world.
  • As Christians, this is our time to SHINE and show the love of Jesus.  Many are hurting, fearful and unsure of what's to come.
  • As Christians, we should die to self as it produces many seeds - the Harvest is here!!

For those who serve the Lord wholeheartedly:
We know our God.
We know His promises are still applicable today and they are Yes & Amen!
We know He is faithful and He will never forsake us.
We know He is good and He is working things for good!

In 2007 or so,  the Lord showed me we would enter into a time like "Little House on the Prairie days"  - it would be difficult, there would be little, but the communities would come together and pray and help each other in their need and lack.  And then He showed me we would "upgrade" to  "Andy Griffith" days.  There would be more but much still much less than what we have today., but the community and relationships would be strong.  I believe we are seeing a "sample" of this right now.  As I said in the blog before last, I feel we are in a trial run.  A foreshadow of what's to come.  I believe we are going to bounce back soon from this - but take heed - that this is a warning - a time to regroup - reset - and prepare.  Prepare your hearts, upgrade your walk with the Lord and hold on, for a time is coming when the world as we knew it will be utterly different - possibly forever.

What can you do TODAY to look different than the world?  How can you be a representative  of the Church?  How can you help someone in need?  Would you call someone and pray for them? Will you lay hands on the sick or hurting when you go out?  Would you offer to go to the store for someone who is at higher risk?  Would you meet a need for someone who might of lost their job/income source?  Will you listen for the Holy Spirit's promptings and ACT on it!!!!  Obedience over sacrifice!

Here's what just happened!   As I am here blogging, a message came in for one of the items we have posted for sale.  The lady said she wanted it but couldn't pay me until Monday or Tuesday.  Immediately the Holy Spirit said just give it to her free.  So, I messaged her back and told her I felt the Lord wanted me to give it to her FREE.  She was shocked.  Now that was FUN!!!  I think I just got my answer to prayer above....  As the Lord leads, we will bless whomever He highlights!!   God is good!!!

Prayer & Praise
Please pray for my healing - sleep.  Pain is high, sleep is little.
Please pray for Ken - lots of physical endurance with his job right now and when he gets home is shifting boxes around that I have packed or purged.  Long days for both of us.

Praise God - I have someone in KC (who I barely know) who reached out to me and is wanting to come down today JUST to PRAY over me.  That is so beautiful and so humbling!  Thankful for THOSE OF YOU who pray for me regularly!!!

Praise God - we are selling some stuff and are close to meeting our moving expenses.
Our new normal!!! LOL
Praise God - a place has opened up to us in new location for rent - without any proof of income!!!!!  (as we will have none, most jobs are vanishing because of this virus)  So we are praying about
signing the lease once we have funds for security deposit!! It's not perfect, but it's clean and a great location with mountain views out our back 14 acres and river views out the front.  We were told that moose and deer are in abundance on the property.  An occasional bear and mountain lion are also present.  Even quail line the driveway.

Thank YOU again for your love, prayer and support!!!  Thank you for believing in us and walking with us on our journey!!   Love ya's!

Vision
God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.
The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord.
We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating people into the world & health and wellness retreats and more.

The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but better help them be ready to serve in their church.
In our community building - we will eventually have a 24/7 prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.

Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more souls into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!  We also have a passion to give generously to help those in need and to help others launch into their God given destinies.
