Electric with Excitement

EXPECTANCY
HOPE
 UNQUENCHABLE ANTICIPATION
PROMISES BEING FULFILLED

Have you noticed a shift in the spiritual climate of our country??
        Things are shifting in our favor!
Have you seen a new found hope?
        Hope is here!
Have you experienced a Christmas Miracle?
        Miracles are being poured out!

This past week has been interesting, unusual and exciting and it "feels" like something even bigger is coming.... we've had 3 different people give us a cash gift......we had some friends for dinner this week and had left the dessert dishes on the table for clean up after they were gone.....when we went to clean up, they had left us some money under their plates; and Ken took the vehicle into the shop Monday... the good news is that the problem seems to of been just the oil sensor light.  The mechanic only charged for a 1/2 hour of work and the part which was much less than the other shop was going to charge just to look at....but then when Ken went to pay the bill, they told him that it had already been PAID!  What?  This has been wonderful and much appreciated! You have no idea!

Blessing after blessing this week.....

I've been finding myself humming Christmas carols and listening to Christmas carols often and watching Christmas movies.  All of which went out the window in 1995 when my father died, as I had mentioned a couple blogs ago.

The atmosphere is electric with excitement!

Yesterday,  I started reading from some devotional books again to add to my quiet time with the Lord.   Streams in the Desert is one that is rich but yet often challenging, as you will see.  But today, as I read it, the Scripture specifically jumped out at me.  The words were penned beautifully, poetically & so applicable to all we've persevered through over the years.  Let's look at it.

Streams in the Desert Devotional Book......

"The exception is Caleb son of Jephunneh; he will see it and I will give him and his descendants the territory on which he has walked, because he has wholeheartedly followed me.”—Deut 1:36 (Emphasis mine)
Every hard duty that lies in your path, that you would rather not do, that it will cost you pain and struggle or sore effort to do, has a blessing in it. Not to do it, at whatever cost, is to miss the blessing.
Every hard piece of road on which you see the Master’s shoe-prints and along which He bids you follow Him, surely leads to blessing, which you cannot get if you cannot go over the steep, thorny path.
Every point of battle to which you come, where you must draw your sword and fight the enemy, has a possible victory which will prove a rich blessing to your life. Every heavy load that you are called to lift hides in itself some strange secret of strength.
—J. R. Miller
“I cannot do it alone;
The waves run fast and high,
And the fogs close all around,
The light goes out in the sky;
But I know that we two
Shall win in the end, Jesus and I.
“Coward and wayward and weak,
I change with the changing sky;
Today so eager and bright,
Tomorrow too weak to try;
But He never gives in,
So we two shall win, Jesus and I.
“I could not guide it myself,
My boat on life’s wild sea;
There’s One who sits by my side,
Who pulls and steers with me.
And I know that we two
Shall safe enter port,
Jesus and I.”
From these words, expectancy overtook my spirit, hope filled my heart, and an unquenchable anticipation that maybe some or all of the promises God has spoken to us over the last years are coming into fulfillment.  I don't know the timing but it feels like it's soon.  I feel like not just for us but for many, are coming into the fullness of what God has been showing to them for quite some time.

Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
Proverbs 13:12

If you are believing God for something - keep believing!  I think your season of waiting is about to come to end!

Prayer/Praise:
Ken - He had a 2 hour interview with a local office that went well & today he got to go in & "sample" what the job would be doing.  They have interviewed and had over 100 applicants & Ken is the only that got called into sit and sample the job.  It looks promising. The pay is better & full time.  We would still be short income for what we need, but it's more than we are making now.    Please pray for God's will be done.
Ken - pray for his health.  He has been fighting a nasty head cold - improving but not gone.
Me - I need uninterrupted sleep.  I've been getting a little but I wake up often.  And pray for healing.  I do believe that's coming soon too!
Finances - we are so thankful for those who gave us a gift this week.  Every dollar matters. We appreciate your prayers for God's provision!
Sonlit Fields - Please continue to stand with us in faith for this to come forth!  The Lord's will be done!

Thank YOU to those who pray for us and for the phone calls, emails & texts that encourage us and strengthen us!

If we can pray for you, please let us know how!  And for those who have asked for prayers, I am praying for your requests.

Merry Christmas

Ken & Michele Cole & Canyon too!

Vision
God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.
The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer 30-50 private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, screened in porches and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord.
We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating, health and wellness retreats and more.

The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but more help them be ready to serve in their church.
In our community building - we will have a 24/7 (eventually)  prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.

Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!  We also have a passion to give generously to help those in need and to help others launch into their God given destinies.

Get a Grip!

 Oh! Teach us to live well!
    Teach us to live wisely and well!
Come back, God—how long do we have to wait?—
    and treat your servants with kindness for a change.
Surprise us with love at daybreak;
    then we’ll skip and dance all the day long.
Make up for the bad times with some good times;
    we’ve seen enough evil to last a lifetime.
Let your servants see what you’re best at—
    the ways you rule and bless your children.
And let the loveliness of our Lord, our God, rest on us,
    confirming the work that we do.
    Oh, yes. Affirm the work that we do!

Psalm 90:12-17 The Message

Have you ever played "connect the dots".   If you don't remember, it's basically a bunch of dots on a piece of paper that are numbered and you take your pen or pencil and go from number to number.  When you've connected all the dots, it reveals a picture.  Like the one above, is an example of a brain.

My brain works like a connect the dot game.  As information or things I've read or heard enter in, and especially if they are similar in nature, then my brain goes to work and starts connecting and seeing patterns.  I know I'm a little odd, but this is often how God speaks to me and what is going on with me, and sometimes for the Church as a whole.  This gives me strategy on how and what to pray.

This past week, I'm thinking there might be a fuse burnt out in my brain.  Just kidding!  I have had an onslaught of thoughts, both the miraculous and the opposite.  Instead of my brain connecting the dots, it feels like a pinball machine.  It's so intense, I really don't know what to do.  I don't know how to pray, so I've been finding myself praying in the Spirit more.

When we connect with friends, the usual question to us is "how are things going with the retreat property?  And our answer is "everything & nothing".  By everything, I mean we are seeing God's hands in connections we are continuing to make.  People who can help us with the project when it starts and people who just offer up some incredible wisdom and insight.  And in looking backwards, we can see why there has been what we call "delay".  It's not really delay but daily steps towards a humongous goal that we need every ounce of help God can give us!  So why are we so discouraged?

God continues to speak encouragement and "stay the course".  Prophetic words from just about everyone are this is the season for breakthrough, miracles and stepping into destiny. Most of which resonate wholeheartedly with what God speaks to me...... even through the Christmas songs that God has been putting on my heart each morning - songs of hope and laughter and celebration.... and the Christmas movies we have been watching.....all in the nick of time, God provides a miracle at Christmas.  Coincidental?

This post I read today described exactly where we are at.  I have permission to share it with you.

December 15, 2016-GET A GRIP! DON’T LET YOUR GRIP SLIP ON YOUR PROMISE NOW!
Good Morning My Loves,
For the past few days I’ve been discerning an atmosphere of “irrational fear.” I use the word “irrational” because it makes no sense. I began picking up on thoughts of fear of financial ruin, physical illness, relational breakdown, fear of failure, fear of the future, fear of this, that, and everything….!”
At first I thought it was the normal warfare that the enemy brings, so I bound him in Jesus name and declared, “I do not have a spirit of fear, but one of love, power, and a sound mind.” (2 Tim. 1:7)
I felt God’s peace come over me, yet I was still discerning an atmosphere of fear. I asked the Holy Spirit, “What is this? He said, “You are discerning that men’s hearts are full of fear and will fail them unless they “take Me at my Word!” They must stand guard over their hearts and minds in this season. The enemy is launching a full frontal assault to get my people into fear doubt and unbelief, so that they’ll forfeit their promise. They must not come in agreement with fear. Again, they must “take Me at my Word!”
The devil is trying to get a foothold through unbelief! The best way to combat the devil is to believe God’s Word which clearly says that “HE NEVER FAILS!” He can be trusted to keep his promise! Our job is to hold on unswervingly, resolutely, with a firm grip to our confession of faith!
Hebrews 10:23 (AMP)
23 Let us seize and hold tightly the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is reliable and trustworthy and faithful [to His word];
It’s time to shut the door in the devil’s face and reinforce it with faith. He’s got his battering ram out, but it cannot withstand God’s Word and your faith!”
-Get a grip!
-Get a firm grip!
-Don’t let your grip slip on your promise right now!
-Hold on to what belongs to you and let the devil know, “It belongs to me devil. The Word says so. You’ve gotta go! Get OUT IN THE NAME OF JESUS! I will not be shaken.”
-Begin to thank God for the way He has taken care of you up to this point.
-Put some worship music on and shout about it. Rehearse all the ways He has come through for you in the past, and keep on shoutin!
-Release a torrent of testimonies about the faithfulness of God.
As you do this you’ll drive out all “illogical” and “irrational” thoughts regarding the future as you stand in the truth of who God IS, and what He’s ALREADY DONE!
Your increase, because of your tenacious faith, is going to bring God so much glory. You’re about to be enriched in EVERY WAY! You’re going to be able to help so many people, and it will result in much thanksgiving to our glorious and faithful God. The devil knows it, and he’s not happy about it!
2 Corinthians 9:11(AMP)
11 You will be enriched in every way so that you may be generous, and this [generosity, administered] through us is producing thanksgiving to God [from those who benefit].
Get ready, you’re about to realize what the enemy tried to keep you from. It’s so close! It’s fulfillment season. Stay in faith!
I love you all! PV - www.soulharvestwc.org
(The Wisdom Love Letters by Verna Brown)
Bullseye!!  This is the "dot" I needed to connect the dots.  Otherwise, I might of found myself checked into the local psychiatric ward.  Just kidding again!
After saying all this, we need some clear direction from the Lord.  Ken has a job interview tomorrow that would be full time, 40 hours a week and a few more dollars an hour!  If God is not ready to deliver the miracle we need, this would be a great blessing!  Also, I got a call from a place I submitted my resume too.  They would like to interview me.  I am really seeking God's will in this.  It's full time.  Two issues - 1.  Canyon, our dog, we can't leave him for more than a few hours at a time and definitely not 40 hours a week. Until he passes I don't think a job for me would work out.  2.  My health, I am still not sleeping well and get my best and sometimes only sleep between 5-830am.  And my pain levels are such that standing or even sitting is uncomfortable unless I can keep my leg up.  Ideally, if I could return to work, I think easing into it part time would be best.  This company is wanting full time.  But, asking God to make it clear.
It's so hard to know what to do - contend, believe, stand and know that God is going to come through soon as He's promising..... OR......give up on the idea for now and just go back to work.  And if the latter, does hope deferred once again go deeper and deeper.  We just want to do what God brought us here to do and come alive in Him!!
I am BELIEVING for a CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!  (I hope it's this Christmas, Lord)
Prayer need on car - we took to shop, they ordered an oil sensor.  When the part comes in, they will install that and also do an oil pressure test.  If it's low pressure, 3 mechanics have told us it is NOT worth it to replace the pump as cost prohibitive. They said that we should just drive it until it dies and it could at anytime. UGH!  We need this to be just the sensor.....or we will have NO transportation.  But God!!

THANK YOU to those who are so FAITHFUL to pray for us and encourage us through texts, emails & phone calls!  I can't express how much that means to us.

If we can pray for you, please let us know how!  And for those who have asked for prayers, I am praying for your requests.

Merry Christmas

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year - or is it?

shelleyhallmark.me photo
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

What does Christmas mean to you?  Do you look forward to this time of year?  As the song says, it's the most wonderful time of year.  Is this true in your life?

When my dad died December 27, 1995, Christmas died too.  My dad loved Christmas.  I think it truly was his favorite time of year.  And before his death, it was for me.  I was giddy about Christmas.  I loved finding or creating the perfect gift(s) for everyone on my list.  Each year, I would try to outdo myself and do whatever it took to find the right gift to make the recipient squeal with delight.  Ok, maybe not squeal but would be thrilled with what they received.

I remember as a kid, my parents told me that if I went to bed and got to sleep, that when I woke up Santa would have come, but if I didn't sleep, he wouldn't.   I was too excited to sleep, but I made sure I kept my eyes closed so Santa would think I was sleeping and bring the gifts.  When I got up in the morning, I would run down the stairs to the living room and see lots and lots of gifts, spread out across the entire room.  (There were 9 of us kids).  Oh and on Christmas Eve, we would stand around the piano and sing carols and put baby Jesus in his crib in the manger scene we had.

As an adult, I loved putting up our Christmas Tree on Thanksgiving Day and decorating every room in the house.  I was very proactive and would try to have my shopping or creative gifts done by early December at the latest.  I so loved seeing wrapped Christmas presents under the tree.  (I still do).

But when my dad died......all of this joy and excitement just left me.  Poof.  I couldn't muster the excitement or joy of the season at all.  I didn't care if we had a Christmas tree and honestly up until this year, we haven't had one.  I didn't decorate the house either.  We didn't buy gifts for friends or family (mostly because our finances didn't allow), but the spirit to buy kind of dissipated too.  As a Christian, the thought of Christmas and how "commercialized" it became saddened me.  The true meaning of Christmas got diluted.  Last year, Kirk Cameron had a movie out called "Saving Christmas".  We went and saw it and it did help me change my perspective a little.  It's a good movie, I recommend it.   And yet, Christmas was still blah to me.  Now, I don't mean to sound like a scrooge and I didn't frown on anyone having or celebrating Christmas....but it was just another day to me.

These last few days I've been waking up to a Christmas song on my heart.  Whenever I wake up to a song, I generally take notice, because God often speaks to me through songs. Each day I have googled the song I awoke to, listen to it and then read the words.  I would journal the words that leaped out at me.  I sense the Lord is wanting to restore the joy & the excitement of Christmas in my life and the celebration of Jesus coming into the world to save us and redeem us.  Each new day and new song is giving me just that.....a little more joy, a little more hope and a new found desire to celebrate.

This year for our 30th Anniversary, Ken made me a different style Christmas Tree (pictured)....one that is more suitable for where we are in life.  The presents are just empty boxes because as I said, I love looking at gifts under a tree!  But I am truly enjoying this and am anxiously hopeful of full restoration in my heart and spirit.  And am prayerful that He will restore our finances so that we can be generous to those who have so little.   Oh and I'm getting excited about Ken's folks coming HERE for Christmas Day!  I will prepare a nice dinner for us and they are planning on coming to our church service!  Hooray!

It truly is the most wonderful time of year -

    Emmanuel - God With Us!

Thank YOU for all who pray for us and check in on us!  You don't know how much that means!

Prayer/Praise -
Ken is still getting upwards of 35-40 a hours this week.  Pray for increase.  We are still shy about $1000 a month in what we need.
 - Please pray for our vehicle situation - the oil light has been coming on regularly for a few weeks.  Could be a sensor or low oil pressure?  After prayer with friends, the next day God through a friend told us about a mechanic here that was very reasonable.  We have an appt with him next Wednesday and he said he would check a few things at no cost!  This is huge.  We just don't have the ability to do any major repairs.  Need God to show up here too!  We've been praying for a newer suv a tad bigger.....and then could have 2 cars again.  I am not able to go to arthritic swim class as I had been which does help my pain.

Michele - little to no sleep & pain - so ready for God's healing touch.   Please also pray that I get enough sleep to allow cognitive function to write the books I feel the Lord is wanting me to do in this season.  So hard to get motivated with little mental energy.
Oh & I cancelled my Thrive Life website to save money.  But am still a consultant.  If you decide you would like some, please email me and I can help you directly.  Thanks!

Canyon - he is plugging along.  so thankful that God is keeping him alive & well.  His hind legs are showing weakness...and am praying God keeps them strong until his last breath.

Ministry -

We are still hosting people in our home 2-3 x average a week - feeding them and building relationships.  Ken is learning how to make homemade bread and it's fabulous!!  He's made Sourdough, Asiago Ciabatta, French Bread & Cinnamon Raisin Bread....next up is English Muffins!    I am constantly trying new recipes and tweaking them to make them my own.  Yum!  If you have any good recipes, please send them to me.  :)

We are enjoying leading our Thursday group - going through a book Positioned for Miracles....a great foundational book to walking in the supernatural.

We have had the pleasure of praying for several people recently - seeing immediate results.  One we prayed for couldn't bend thumb & had excruciating pain.  Healed!  Another, high blood pressure.... next day they took their bp and it was normal!  Another, we prayed for open doors for a new rental and to help move the spouse's heart as they didn't want to move.  Within an hour, they looked at a property (that was a miracle in itself) and then signed a lease.  Whoohoo!  Love seeing God show up and show off!

I am still doing research and gathering information for when God says go and provides for Sonlit Fields.  He is continuously introducing us to new people who add wisdom or potential help for this project.
