Hello from the Board of Sonlit Fields Ministry!  

1.  We would like to thank you for your prayer, relational and financial support for Ken & Michele Cole - Sonlit Fields Ministry.   We know they are encouraged when they can experience the fruit of their ministry.  Thank YOU for your part!   We bless you and appreciate you! 

2.  We as a board would like to encourage you or your church to prayerfully consider extending an invitation to them to come speak and minister in this next year.  Their gifts of teaching, activating and encouraging others through the prophetic and healing is vital in these days to reach people.   Proverbs 15:23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!   Their heart and passion is to equip the Body of Christ to reach a lost and hurting world.  Their down to earth, naturally supernatural approach has been successful in reaching the unbeliever and even crosses over denominational borders.  Their hearts are to love and serve wherever God leads.  

3.  Ken & Michele have trusted God for their daily financial needs for many years.  Their unwavering faith and trust is commendable, but is difficult to walk out daily. They are not ones to ask for money and have submitted to this ministry board to send this out.  We believe God honors what they are doing and we can honor them as well by supporting the ministry God has given them. 

We have been praying for God to bring regular consistent givers to come alongside them and support them so they can continue to step into all that God has called them to do.  They have reached many people.   We as the board of Sonlit fields Ministry are asking, if they have at any time blessed you would you please consider sowing into their ministry and their personal finances.  At the bottom of this post, we will list the few ways you can do so. 

Testimony from Mary B -I would like to share that the ministry that Ken and Michele have brought to our community and the way it has touched my husband and I has been a blessing.  We are very grateful for how the Lord has directed them in this much needed special area of teaching of discernment of the Holy Spirit,  growing people up with multiple blessings of generosity.  Teachings on how we can hear God and the teachings about the Holy Spirit. They have blessed others and have not asked for money in return. They are humble and generous. To show your support please consider giving to them.

Our lives have been enriched for the past four years by the ministry of Ken and Michele Cole. We have been blessed to be their pastor during a portion of this time, but beyond that, we have found this friendship to be a rare pastor-parishioner relationship in which we have received more than we have given. Anyone would be hard pressed to "outgive" this couple who live out their calling every day. 

Ken and Michele have a heart for pastors and missionaries. It is rare to come across people like this who so intimately understand the demands of ministry! They continually ask us how they can pray for us, and then they DO IT. They are incredibly gifted with discernment, intercession, hospitality, faith, helps, teaching, exhortation, and service, and they utilize their gifts effectively to bring glory to God and refreshment to others.

Interestingly, though they have not yet entered their promised land (a retreat center where they can expand their ministry), for the past four years they have given 100% of their energies in ministry while waiting in the desert. They have continued to believe God was going to provide, all the while seeking out individuals who they could encourage and minister to. They haven't focused solely on the pastoral families in our church, but to multiple other pastors, leaders, and lay people; countless people in a wide geographical area have had life poured into them by Ken and Michele. Their home is filled with people nearly every day of the week, as they feed them amazing meals (we could write a whole chapter here; what unbelievable chefs they are!), pray over them, love on them, and support and serve them with their ears, hands, and hearts. 

It is our feeling that God has been preparing, grooming, and refining Ken and Michele, but it is time for their ministry to move to a new level. A couple like this - so gifted and sold out to God and His purposes for their lives - needs a bigger platform so as to minister to greater numbers of thirsty and weary pastors and leaders. We continue to pray that God will, in His abundant provision, allow them to purchase a retreat property to continue to serve in an even greater capacity.

Vision

God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.  

The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord. 

We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating people into the world & health and wellness retreats and more.  

The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but better help them be ready to serve in their church. 

In our community building - we will eventually have a 24/7 prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.  

Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more souls into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!  We also have a passion to give generously to help those in need and to help others launch into their God given destinies.  

Illusory Truth - Good vs Evil

They will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. 2 Timothy 4:4 ESV

How many know we are in a war over our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ?   The absolutes of Truth is blurred.  Truth has become offensive and considered hateful.  Being offended is the new normal.  If you disagree with someone, it now means you must hate them.  

My heart is grieved by what I see and hear.  

The old adage says if you hear something over and over you begin to believe it.  For example - if while you were growing up you heard from your parents, you won’t amount to anything, you’re lazy, you’re a bum, you eventually believe it and your life follows suit.  Conversely, if you have a teacher in school that believes in you and is your best cheerleader telling you how great you are at writing, you most likely would grow up to be a great author.

Wikipedia says this:  The illusory truth effect (also known as the validity effect, truth effect or the reiteration effect) is the tendency to believe information to be correct after repeated exposure.

What we are being exposed to through Main Stream Media and Social Media is in direct opposition to real Truth!  Biblical Truth!  This is very serious.  If you watch media, you are being exposed to half truths which are really lies!!  That may sound harsh but it’s true.  Even Satan knows the word of God and twists it just enough to lead us into deception.  

Our home group just started watching a DVD Series by John Bevere, called the Bait of Satan.   I read this book early in my Christian walk which laid a great foundation of Truth in my life and something I strive to walk out daily.  The Bait of Satan is all about being offended.  Offense turns into bitterness, bitterness into anger and anger into murder.   I just read something the other day that says it this way; “offense is the baby of murder.”   John Bevere says:  “An offended heart is the way to being deceived.”   Let me say that again - “An offended heart is the way to being deceived.”  

For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Matthew 24:24 

The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 

1 Timothy 4:1

Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don't believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don't understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God. 2 Corinthians 4:4

When I heard that offense breeds deception, it put the fear of God in me in a new way.  If we are in offense, then we are setting ourselves up to be deceived.  When we are deceived, we are completely oblivious to the Truth.  When we are oblivious to the Truth, we fall into all sorts of deception.  It’s a vicious cycle and one I don’t want to be in.  Do you?  The problem is when we are being deceived, we DON'T KNOW that we are being deceived!  

HURT PEOPLE - HURT PEOPLE ....... HURT COMES FROM OFFENSE. 

This war we are in - between good and evil - its about truth vs deception.  It is not against flesh and blood.  Eph 6.   It is a battle that we must fight on our knees and on our faces.  It must start within our own hearts and minds.  We need to seek the Lord and ask Him to reveal any hidden offense.  Ask Him what are our blindspots?  Where are we being deceived?  When He tells you, then do whatever it takes to get out the gray and get aligned with the Word of the Lord.  Forgive and pursue love!   Don’t minimize this.  We will get offended.  There is no doubt there.  What you do with the offense will dictate your future.  



HEALED PEOPLE - HEAL PEOPLE.....HEALING COMES FROM THE LORD. 

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

The only One we should be worrying about being offended is the Lord!

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you and lead me along the path of everlasting life.  
Psalm 139:23-24

Let me share a quick story and then I’ll tie it back in.   When we used to go out to eat and a waitress would come to the table in an obvious bad mood, we used to say, wow what’s eating her?   Fast forward to our Christian walk - now when we have a waiter or waitress come to our table upset or rude, we stop and take the time to ask them how we can pray for them.  9 times out of 10, they didn’t even realize they were in an “attitude”.   And often they will share something personal they need prayer for.  This also sets us up to ask the Lord for something specific to encourage them. 

So, my point in all this - is this.  There are many many hurting people out there.  There are angry, broken and lost people out there.  There are quite a few that are being deceived in some way or another.  Some might be in your family, your neighbor, co-worker or even those in MSM.  They may have been told all their life or more often than not, that they should believe a certain way.  The wrong way may be all they know.  

Our role as believers is to pray for them.  Love our enemies and bless them.  Ask the Lord to open their eyes and ears to see and hear Truth.   Our job is to speak the Truth in LOVE to them and allow the Holy Spirit to convict and change their hearts.  You know the song, they will know that we are Christians by our love!!  

Our response to their words or actions should always be in love.  Speak the Truth in love, but don't argue with them.  It's the Lord's kindness that leads them into repentance.   

You attract more bees with honey than vinegar.

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. Proverbs 15:1 

Media has done enough damage using illusory truth.  Maybe Christians should use the same illusory truth, but with a different approach.  What if we were the ones who were consistent in showing the truth of God's love to a hurting world? What if we spoke only words of encouragement and blessing.   Don't use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.  Ephesians 4:29   WHAT KIND OF IMPACT WOULD WE LEAVE ON THEM!

Enough is Enough

We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God  Acts 15:22b

Have you been experiencing an unbelievable amount of trials recently?  

Are you feeling the heaviness of the load?  

Is your cross becoming overwhelmingly daunting to carry?

Can you take one more disappointment? 

Have you found yourself saying “enough is enough”?

1.  This situation needs to stop

2.  That is enough, and there should be no more.; Stop! 

3.  People say enough is enough when they think that something, usually something bad, should stop.

4.  No more will be tolerated.

Last night we received an email - and to say the least it was a door slamming shut.  It brought discouragement, hopelessness, confusion, doubt and much second guessing ourselves.  

This morning in my quiet time, I found myself grieving, weeping, and crying out to God, enough is enough. I told the Lord I don’t know how much more disappointment I can take.  After several minutes of this, I found myself travailing for many others who are in this similar place.  I was naming them one by one and saying Lord - enough is enough!  

I’ve shared this before - but years ago when I was at my worst - I was in my bed, lethargic and near death, unknowingly.  I was crying out to the Lord and before my eyes, I saw Jesus kneeling at my bedside.  He had his hands folded in prayer and was weeping.  He looked up to heaven and said Father, enough is enough.   I was sure at the moment, I would be healed. I wasn’t.  I was devastated.  Why would Jesus cry out to the Father and they are one - and not honor that prayer?  Why would the Lord allow me to continue in health issues?  

Why is it that a significant number of Christians are finding themselves under incredible intense pressure and circumstances?  Why is it that one thing after another continues to “attack” a good number of the Body of Christ?  Health - sickness, chronic pain, chronic insomnia, lack of finances, the inability to find work, family issues, things breaking down or wearing out, strife, divorce, death,  These are just a few of the long list of “trials” a bunch of our friends and acquaintances are going through.  Many are “all of the above”.   It’s unbearable!!!   

Why does one experience so much hardship?  Here are just a couple of reasons that come to my mind.  

1. The enemy is doing everything in his power to turn us against our beliefs and even try to turn us away from God. If he can be successful in either of these, we become useless to the Kingdom of God.  That is Satan’s plan!! End of story. 

2. The Lord may be allowing our circumstances to shape us and grow us into a mighty army, a fortress and also ultimately the pure spotless Bride of Christ.  Our sufferings are for the good of the Church and the glory of God if we look at from an eternal perspective. 

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

If our eyes are fixed on Jesus we can rise above our circumstances and persevere. 

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.  And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5:3-5

This evening, I saw this by Matt Gonzales on Facebook and it strikes a chord.

”One of the marks of our maturity as sons and daughters of God is not how much scripture we can quote, how many miracles we have seen come to pass, or how well we can prophesy, but rather how much pressure or resistance can we be under before we abandon our core beliefs and convictions?”

Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.  Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. 2 Corinthians 4:1-2

I believe the only thing we can do is keep our hope in Jesus and draw near to Him.  He is beckoning us into a deeper intimacy and relationship.  He is preparing us through the fires of affliction.  

Are you willing to carry the cross He has chosen for you?  

Will you stay committed to the Lord despite the intense pressure?

Ask the Lord for extra grace and mercy so that you can endure to the end!  

Quitting is not an option!  (Though it is often a temptation) 

But he who endures to the end shall be saved.  Matthew 24:13 

A friend wrote this poem for Ken & I in June last year.... continues to be applicable.....still waiting, still weary...but wanted to share with you.....
