Waiting On The Lord Is Like A Ping Pong Game!

Psalm 27:13-14

I would have despaired had I not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes wait for and confidently expect the Lord.  

TheBibleSays.com say this about these verses:  David acknowledges that left on his own he would not have been able to find and embrace the hope needed to carry on.  Rather, he would have despaired, a phrase rendered in English that is contextually understood from the negatively inclined Hebrew conjunction ("lule") meaning "unless" or "had it not been." The complete loss of hope, a full surrender to being overwhelmed by negative and opposing forces would likely have been David's fate EXCEPT that he had believed(Hebrew, "aman"). That belief, a wholehearted and active engagement with the Lord, unlocks all the possibilities and remedies made available by God to the believing soul,

Have you ever waited on God and despaired?  Felt a complete loss of hope?  Being overwhelmed with a full onslaught of negative and opposing forces?  You too?   

As you know, if you've read any of my previous blogs, we are in a transition of housing.  We've been here before.  We moved from KC to MO not knowing where until the night before.  We moved from a home in MO to another in MO with only a day knowing where.  We moved from a place in MT to this one with 12 days to spare (whew).  And this time we've had almost 3 full months to move and yet there is NOTHING available that meets our needs.  Either way too small for more money, too many stairs or way out of our budget.  Most are out of our budget.   We are down to 24 days to MOVING day.   Fortunately our landlord has said we could stay through 8/3 if needed so we may change moving day until 8/2.     We are still contending and believing for the open door into our destiny property, our forever home as the Lord has said.  We are asking for God to open only the door He has for us and keep all others shut (which the latter He is doing quite well).   

When you or I wait on God, in my experience, it seems to be a  pretty regular occurrence.  How about yours?  Why do you think God keeps us waiting and always showing up in the 11th hour?  For me, it's been a process to increase my faith in Him.  It's been a process of growing in deeper dependence on Him.  It's a process of greater preparation for what's next.  So why does it feel like my mind and thoughts are in the middle of a ping pong game.  

One minute strong in faith and believing for the impossible and the next doubt and fear and with cloudy vision that it won't happen.  

One minute it's knowing HE won't fail us and the next is overwhelming concern.  

One minute it's excitement and anticipating and the next hopelessness and depression. 

One minutes it's peace and comfort and the next it's frantic & overly stressful.  

One minute trusting all the Rhema words spoken by the Lord or others for you and the other wondering if any of it was true?  

One minute confidently expecting and the other utter despair.  

Are you feeling the ping pong game?  Just writing that, all the emotions I've been experiencing over the last few months came back in intensity.  The tears start flowing.  The fear creeps in.  And yet..... I place my trust in the only One who can open the doors for us.  Even if that's another rental or if it's Destiny Doors we've been trained and persevered for such a long time.  

I don't remember having these same up and down feelings the last several times we've had to trust God for our next home.  I sense that there are several factors this time.  

1.  Just maybe the warfare around destiny is greater because it's close.    We had a friend reach out and say that she was praying what the Lord showed her "people" who have been praying against our destiny. Ouch!   And we've experienced a little of this first hand because they don't have the same faith as God has given us.  That's ok.  This is our walk- not theirs.   If they can't pray in agreement with what we feel the Lord is saying, then really we don't want those prayers.   Ouch!    

2.  Maybe God is working in someone to bring forth the promise of destiny - and yet...   Someone once taught us that God uses others to bring forth His plans and will in others.  When we aren't responding to His promptings and are not willing then sadly others miss out on the blessings.  Others don't get their healing or  destiny.   God will bring it back around to another person or persons, but that often takes time.   I wonder how many of us have missed a blessing?  I wonder how many missed theirs because of our own disobedience?  

3.  A lot has changed in the world over the past few years.   Cost of living has gone up big time here in Montana.   A starter home here - 2 bedroom 1 bath is 300k or more.  The house we currently live in sold for 457k.   Our home in KC sold for that much and was 3 x the size and with 2 acres of land and a pool.  Rentals here are $2000 for a 2 bedroom 1 bath place with around 800 sq ft.   We currently reside in 1500 sq ft  3 bedrooms, 2 bath with 2 car garage and a detached building for $1750.  I never imagined I'd pay that much for rent.  And this is the high end of our budget.    And we are really tired of renting - the instability.  I do not like moving all the time!!!  I'm ready for my forever home! 

4.  And, recently I was diagnosed (again) with Hp Axis Adrenal Dysfunction which means that my ability to cope with anything stressful is limited.  My hypothalamus and pituitary glands are not up to par and communicating well.   Chronic Stress and Chronic Pain are the two biggies that cause this.  If you've know me for any period of time, you'll know chronic pain has been the past 40+ years.  And the last several years it's taken a huge toll on me and now the lab work shows that for sure!    I am trusting God to heal me as He has promised.  That is also part of the stress.  The same ping pong match on my health.   He made me a promise in 2002 that He would completely heal me.   And yet.........

How do you encourage yourself in the Lord?  How do you stay strong in the middle of trials and waiting?  How do you know you're hearing clearly from the Lord?

IT'S TIME!   There is such a need for what God has called us too.  Many are feeling it's time.  We come in agreement with what the Spirit is speaking!  IT'S TIME!  

Yesterday I was in my quiet time, and the Lord spoke to me some very specific things about what's next.  And I kind of rolled my eyes like am I really hearing you?   And He said He'd confirm this word.  Within an hour a friend of mine sent a prophetic word written by someone else and I'm not kidding you much of it was verbatim what the Lord spoke to me.   And then another person sent me a direct prophetic word that confirmed it again.   I just read in John 8 about 2 witnesses.  So that helps for the "moment" not to second guess it.

God is never early - never late - but always right on time.   I don't know what that really means.  Do you? He won't fail us.  He will provide.  He will meet our every need.  He has a perfect place for us.  His word won't return void.    He is faithful and trustworthy!   He will do it!  And even if he doesn't, we will still trust Him.  He's a good good Father.   

Two promises I'm clinging to- both the Lord spoke to me when we were in MO.

Isaiah 32:18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places 

Isaiah 65:9 I will bring forth descendants from Jacob, and from Judah those who will possess my mountains; my chosen people will inherit them, and there will my servants live

We are ready!  

Please pray for my healing - especially from this new diagnosis.  I'm not sleeping much.  I'm jumpy, no energy, no mental motivation.  It's not fun!!  Please pray for Ken as he tweaked his back and that has been difficult for him especially with his work up and down ladders.   Please pray for THE LORD TO OPEN ONLY THE DOOR HE HAS FOR US!  That covers it all!      Thank you.

In Just a Little While ........


Hebrews 10:37  For,

“In just a little while,
    he who is coming will come
    and will not delay.”




This verse is a promise of the Lord's return.  Hallelujah!  

Recently I asked the Lord a question.  I asked "How much longer must I endure?"  I heard in just a little while.  He said look up the bible verse with those words.  His answer was Hebrews 10:37.


Who do you know that has been persevering in "a" circumstance for a very long time?  It may even be you.  Has one thing after another setback afflicted your life, your family, your health, your finances?   


There’s hope.   The writer in Hebrews says that in just a little while, He who is coming, will come and not delay.   Though this passage is talking about when Jesus returns, I believe we can use this promise to cling to even today.    


As I was studying out that passage, I came across this commentary - 


Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary

10:32-39 Many and various afflictions united against the early Christians, and they had a great conflict. The Christian spirit is not a selfish spirit; it puts us upon pitying others, visiting them, helping them, and pleading for them.  


Let’s talk about this.  It talks about the early Christians.  They had great conflict and many and various afflictions.  Sound familiar to your life or someone you know?  I’m raising my hand!!!!  


Do we have a part in this?  When another believer is going through the ringer what are “WE” to do?    The commentary says it this way “The Christian spirit is not a selfish spirit; it puts us upon pitying others, visiting them, helping them, and pleading for them.” 


God in His mercy and grace will often put someone on my heart to pray for.  I may or may not know the reason, but it is my part to pray.  It requires immediate obedience!   If the Lord tells me to do something for them, that too requires immediate obedience because anything delayed is really disobedience.  The Lord doesn’t have to use people to help people, BUT He chooses to use us to bring glory to Him.  


Are you listening?  Are you willing to do whatever HE asks of you?  Are you willing to help and plead for them and have pity on them?   We are to help our brothers and sisters in Christ so that they can be encouraged and strengthened in the Lord.  We are to meet their needs whatever God asks!  Sometimes it’s just a simple call or a visit along with prayer.  Sometimes it’s practical and requires effort.   And sometimes it means giving up something we hold dear.  


This past couple of weeks we have been hit hard financially.  Not only did our rent go up significantly this month, Ken found out he has to have emergency dental work - two root canals and crowns… along with much more.  The root canals so far are being estimated around $6400.  Thankfully we have a friend who owns a dental lab and he has offered to cover the cost of the two crowns.  That saves us a little but not as much as we hoped because the local dentist said the "lab" fees weren't that much.   Recently our car has had some “safety” issues.  We just paid $549 to fix one of them and the next one is $1943.  They require $1500 up front to pay for the cost of the part.  And did I mention that our fairly new freezer malfunctioned and we lost ALL our meat and seafood.  Estimated around $1000.  The freezer part will be covered, but they are not covering the food loss.  I am working with the BBB and Corporate Maytag but not holding my breath.  The have been pretty adamant they will not reimburse us!  This had made me sick to my stomach.  I am extra frugal when I shop.  I stock up when sales are on and Ken vacuum seals all of it so it lasts a long time.  This has been stuff we’ve been buying for a year or more.   Thankfully Costco where we purchased it offered us $100 gift card for some of the loss.  


I have to have some medical tests which equate to $300 this week.  I had a scary thing happen as well.  I experienced “kaleidoscope vision” for about 30 minutes and then a major headache to go with it.  If you haven’t experienced this, let me say it is beyond freaky and quite scary.  All I could see was blurry and colors swirling around.   I asked my doctor about it and he said that it could be stress, migraine or stroke.   Well that’s great!!  Let’s add one more thing to my extremely long list of afflictions!!!  I am beyond weary!!!  Pain levels have been over the top with no relief in sight.  Let's just say that this song is one I've been playing on repeat.... https://youtu.be/jc-WPCQs6RI?feature=shared 


The Lord knew how difficult things are so He sent quite a few friends reaching out to me to pray.  They all said something similar - that I have been on their heart and they have been praying almost non-stop for me.   They listened and acted.  Praise God!  If they hadn't, who knows where this would have led.  


I had a friend reach out to me Monday and say that they were sending me $601 because the Lord told them too.  I asked why $601 and they said because that was how much they had saved as a nest egg and it became an idol to them.  Wow!!!   The Lord will bless her obedience and sacrifice!!! 


After suggesting to Ken that he ask if he could work some extra on Saturday's, his   boss asked him to work this weekend a few hours.  Our church asked Ken to do a small painting job for pay.   Every little bit helps! 


The Lord is definitely working through people who are willing to listen and obey His voice.  We are not anywhere close to out of the woods, but we are trusting Jesus for everything.   It’s encouraging to me when someone takes the time to reach out and ask how they can pray…or just offers an encouraging word.   


I am wiling always Lord.  Use me, spend me however You see fit! 


God desires us to be His hands and feet.  Are we willing?   Do we have enough compassion and kindness in us to help those who need to be pulled out of the pit, encouraged and strengthened in the Lord.  If we don’t, well maybe it’s about time we asked for it.  Here’s a good song to listen to - https://youtu.be/-08YZF87OBQ?feature=shared.     God wants us to love others as He loves us!   Every good and perfect gift comes from Him.  Every blessing we have comes from Him!!  Freely you have received, freely give!

Exceedingly Abundantly More!!

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us... Ephesians 3:20 


I don't want to beat you over the head with my Thrive Life business... but I do want to share a huge testimony.   Last month started off as normal.  And then my sales got to $8600.  I prayed that God would help me hit $10,000 as that's the next level and would earn me some additional points towards Cancun (and of course some additional pay).   A day or two after I prayed that, I noticed my sales hit $18,000.   I was like wow!! God did exceedingly abundantly more than the $1400 I asked for.   Well, the next level was at $25,000 and I thought - is it possible God, 2 weeks out and needing that much?  Well, anything is possible with God! Matthew 19:26.   God sent total strangers to my website with orders.  And on the last day of the month, I hit the goal.  Nothing like nail biting leaving it to the last hours.   Well, actually it was not until today before the "official" numbers computed in my virtual office.  God is always the God of the 11th hour isn't he.   I am so thankful for Him and for all of you!

Switching Gears!!!  Just a little testimony of God's healing touch! 

Several months ago, I met this lady who was diagnosed with cancer last year and sent home on hospice.  Her husband quit his job to be with her.   We have been building a relationship and she is most delightful.   A year ago as I said, she was told she had days to live.  It's been a year !  God has been sustaining her and healing her little by little.  Us and some other folks are visiting her and praying for her and each time, she gets stronger.  Not long ago, she broke her arm.  She didn't get any treatment or surgery for it due to hospice care.  I felt the Lord told me to share with her some of this Comfrey salve I had.  I did.  A friend of ours in Clinton Mo makes it. https://www.papatownscomfreyproducts.com/shop/comfrey-salve-4-oz   -   Her arm and hand was swollen and extremely painful.  She used the product and within a day all the swelling went down and now using it for a few weeks, she can tell her bones are healing and she is able to do more with her arm.  Wow!!!   I love when God gives a word of wisdom and it has impact! (of course it does, if it's from Him).   

I love to pray for people.  I love to hear God's voice to bring encouragement, healing or a touch to those in need.   

There is a lady in our home fellowship that had the Covid vaccine because she worked in a hospital. She was so concerned about the side effects.  I felt the Lord told me to pray for her that the injection she got would be a placebo effect. That there would be no side effects or any issues from it.   A month or so later she happened to look up the "lot number" and found that this lot number had NO side effects, no reported cases of any issues whatsoever.   She was so amazed and gave credit to the prayers and to the Lord of course!

We are in precarious times....and many are feeling stressed or fearful over the unknown future..  Let's be the body of Christ and lift each other up to the throne room!   


And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:18

Vision

God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.  

The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord. 

We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating people into the world & health and wellness retreats and more.  

The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but better help them be ready to serve in their church. 

In our community building - we will eventually have a 24/7 prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.  

Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more souls into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!  We also have a passion to give generously to help those in need and to help others launch into their God given destinies.

When it rains, it pours!!!

When it rains, it pours is a proverb = misfortunes or difficult situations tend to follow each other in rapid succession or to arrive all at the same time.

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5:3-5

If you only look at what's going on in the world, you will see it's pouring rain on many people. People dying from the virus, people in extended health care facilities persevering for healing. I see and hear about so much heartache and hurt, it breaks my heart. I see people contending for the promise of provision and see no relief. I see people contending for healing with no relief in sight. I see people crying out for their children or spouses to be saved.  I see people out of work, looking for work but no doors open, even with so many jobs out there. I see inflation big time and food shortages and people wondering how they will survive!

Each day I carry these people's prayer requests and cries for God's mercy to the throne room. As someone who has gone through intense suffering for over three decades, I truly do have compassion and empathy for those who suffer. I feel their pain, their sorrow, the anguish. Often, I think it's mine and then when I go down a really deep and dark path, I realize it's not all mine. I feel like the enemy is working overtime hoping that I will just end it all. Believe me that's been a thought more times than I want to admit. I won't do it.. I'm too chicken.... that's God's grace!

Lately, I've been carrying weight far too heavy for me. I know it's not mine, it's God's......yet He has me interceding. Sometimes, the pain feels like the different phases of grieving. Lately, I've been feeling angry. I am feeling bitterness towards God. Where are you Lord? Why won't you heal when your Word shows us repeatedly you healed ALL who came to you? Why won't you provide when your Word shows us you will meet ALL our needs? I don't know yet if this anger is all mine... I don't think it is. I hear from several intercessors that they too are asking these same questions?

    "It's not what happens to you but how you will use what happens to you."  

    Since my last blog, we have been hit hard.  Both Ken & I got sick again - a week now.  I haven't slept in 6 nights. Ken's missed work which means NO pay.  We got hit with a $1800 tax bill and our car had to go in for repairs for an oil leak.  We are feeling the weight of debt for the 1st time since we got married in 1986.   I continue to look for Facebook work and am working the Thrive Life but unfortunately it's not enough.  God is the one to open and close doors...and He is not opening doors for us.  It's frustrating.  It's confusing.  And the question is where are you Lord?   I am fighting discouragement, hopelessness and then I see the verse above today.....suffering produces perseverance and perseverance character and character hope...    When does the hope come in?  In the life to come?  And then I see Hebrews 11:39-40 These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

    I am losing hope that the promises will ever come to pass in our lifetime.  I asked God today if He would please just be honest with me..... if healing is NOT coming, then tell me and just  take me home.  If the vision He gave us is not coming to fruition, then take all desires away.   I have not heard an answer yet....   What is the point of contending for something that will not happen!!!   And then He reminds me of a time I was praying for someone years ago.  He said "contend for what I spoke to you and trust me for the outcome."   That's a hard pill to swallow right now because the outcome was not what I was praying for.  I'm just being honest.   And the hard part is that God has asked me to be transparent in my writings to you all.  And what it typically brings is criticism and judgement.  I feel like one of the apostles.  they often were criticized, jailed, beaten and flogged for following Jesus.  LOL!!!    


    I'll end with this - I am choosing to press in for better not bitter.  I am choosing to trust Jesus even know I don't see the promises manifesting.  I am choosing to believe God's word for it is Truth.... and even if we go deep into debt or healing doesn't come, I will still follow the Lord.  I am still a disciple of Christ.     

    Years ago, the Lord gave me a new wording for the phrase - when it rains, it pours..   

    WHEN GOD REIGNS, IT POURS!

Let us pray for one another fervently!   Rise up Church!  Now is the time....
