What's Next Lord? Here We Go Again!!!

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight!

Have you ever had the phone ring and a pit immediately formed in your stomach?

For the past few months Ken and I both have been sensing "change".   We have been feeling something shift in the spirit but not really knowing what.   Normally, I sense it first....and then when Ken does whatever "it" is, soon becomes reality.   I don't know why God typically tells me first other than maybe He knows that I'm a planner.  I need time to prepare.   Where Ken is more spontaneous and goes with the flow.

When the Lord first showed us Montana, it was New Year's Eve and we were watching a show called Cedar Cove.  Mostly watched it because it had such beautiful scenery.  Filmed in British Columbia, Canada but portrayed off the coast of Seattle.   I remember that night watching the show and I said to the Lord,  "Why don't you move us some place like that to do the vision You have for us instead of boondocks Missouri?"   And that was the beginning stages of our move here to BEAUTIFUL MONTANA!    When we crossed over state line - my
spirit leapt and it sensed we were HOME!!   (I even have the shirt to prove it, lol).    The Lord would have to pry me out of here...and especially our Valley.  I told Him I wanted to die here!

A couple of nights ago, I was lying in bed unable to sleep and I had a similar feeling as when I was watching that show Cedar Cove.  I said to the Lord, "How much longer must we be in this house, in the city and not in the destiny you have for us?"    Well, yesterday, He decided to answer that question.   My phone rang.  It was our landlord.  Let me first start by saying she has only called us one other time and that was to schedule a time to meet with us and sign a new lease and raise the rent.   So, a pit began to form when I saw her name on the caller id.   I answered the phone and her first comments were, "would you like to buy the house?"   My response, was I wish we could afford too because I knew where the conversation was heading.  She went on to say that they decided to sell then house and asked when a realtor could come take pictures.   My stomach dropped!  The floor is falling out from under us once again!!

Let me give you some back story.   When the Lord first showed us moving away from Kansas City to El Dorado Springs, MO - we had 60 days notice to pack and find a new place to live.  The night before our move, our movers called and asked us where they were taking our belongings and our response was can we let you know in the morning because we did NOT know yet!!   We ended up living in temporary housing for 3 weeks and stored our stuff until a rental opened up.

Next we lived in that house for five months.  The landlord called us one day and said we are selling the house.  We had a lease but that didn't matter.  The house sold instantly.  We still had no place to go on a Wednesday and we had to be out by Sunday.   On Saturday, we found a rental and moved in.   That was pretty intense!!

Next when God was moving us from that last house in Missouri to Montana.  He told us we were moving 3 years in advance.  However, it wasn't until two months before the actual move before we could find a place to rent.  We rented sight unseen.   We had to and gladly chose to give up probably 95% of all our belongings to keep costs down on moving and to fit in the small place that opened up.     We were thankful because no one wanted to rent to us here unless we had jobs and no one would give us jobs without living here.  The rent was double what we were used too but this was the only open door!   But God!!!

Next we lived in that place for about 2.5 years.  Had a great relationship with our landlord or so we thought.  The wife even came to our home group.   But one night we got a text and were told we had to be out in 30 days.   They wouldn't talk to us, wouldn't give us a reason just blatantly and rudely said get out.  Even had us served papers to be out.    So for the next 30 days desperately trying to find a place to live - nothing in this area was affordable and really nothing available. But with less than 2 weeks to spare, God opened up this home we are in now.  Again, the rent doubled and God came through.  It has served us well.  It was truly an answer to prayer for more space to host home group and entertain and show hospitality.    When we moved into this place, I asked the Lord if we could please, please stay here until such time He moves us into destiny.   And when that time came, not to rush it, not to have it be chaotic and stressful but that we could slip out with ease!

We've been feeling the "grace" lift on this place. Not because it's a bad home or anything.  We are content here.  It's just the feeling we get when we know God is about to do something new.   He has been giving us tell tale signs He's used in the past, so why were we shocked?

Well, the call came as you heard above.   We have to move out!  As far as I know we have until end of July, but will keep you posted!   That's when our lease is up but we know from previous experience how that might not be the case.

Fear wants to take over my thought life but as I look back, I can see God's hand in every move. I can see how He has upgraded us each time and the provision for the increases were there.   We don't know our next steps yet other than PACKING!!   I am asking God in prayer to please reveal our next spot before the end of this month, so we know exactly how to pack or whether we have to get rid of stuff again.    There is a great tension of excitement and adventure but also of stress, chaos and hopelessness.

We are taking this day by day...trusting God for His provision.  We are trusting the perfect place will open up to us.  We are praying and believing for His promises to come to pass in our lives!!     Please be in agreement with us for a beautiful next step!

In the meantime, we continue to host home group, bless others with encouraging words and ministry and host people in our home.

Prayer requests/praise reports!

I've been struggling with some pretty severe pain still in my back, my feet and little to no sleep.   I've been begging God to take me home if healing isn't part of His plan.  I am weary on every level.  Soul tired!   Finances have been super tight and wondering how rent will get paid next month.  I've been applying for jobs and God has been keeping the doors shut tight!   I feel He wants me to write my books which I'm working on my cookbook now but that doesn't pay the bills. OH and  I begin a contest Favorite Chef 3/31.. so if you want to vote for me daily, that would be great!  https://favchef.com/2025/michele-cole.  If I win, I get $25,000... featured in Taste of Home Magazine and get to cook with a professional chef!

Ken is still painting full time.  He is feeling grace departing from that as well...but stays plugging along until such time God has something different.  His boss is really good to him and he doesn't mind the work.   Ken is having to have much more dental work.  He just got his first crown being done from his emergency dental procedure last October.  That's another huge expense... that only God can fund!   The end of April, he will have more work done and the dentists is offering to do free in a clinical setting with other dentists watching.  So that's one way God helps provide for us.

Our car - the infiniti that kind of died (just not safe to drive)... long story short it's possible we have friends that think they have found the part needed.  The part is not made anymore -which is weird for a 2006... and so it's a needle in a haystack.     We would love to fix the car so we can sell it along with the other one and upgrade.  Both cars are old and high mileage.   We would love something newer and a larger suv so we can get along with snowy weather better.

Thank you for your prayers and support of what God is doing in and through us!!

Hugs, love and prayers.

Vision

God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.

The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord.

We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating people into the world & health and wellness retreats and more.

The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but better help them be ready to serve in their church.

In our community building - we will eventually have a 24/7 prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.

Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more souls into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!  We also have a passion to give generously to help those in need and to help others launch into their God given destinies.

Tell My People to Prepare......Their Hearts

Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:13

As I was sitting here this morning, I asked the Lord what was on His heart.  What did He want His people to hear today.  And I heard "tell my people to prepare....their hearts."

Well, that's a loaded statement.  Who am I Lord to answer that question?  And He says.... wisdom from above will lead you and guide you.

Who knows that our world we live in is in very tumultuous times?  What news can we trust? What can we hear or read that is truth and not biased and leading opinions?

One of my favorite quotes is this by Abraham Lincoln - "Don't believe everything you read on the internet"     Ok....I'm pretty sure he didn't really say this - but just making a point.  LOL!!

How can we prepare our hearts?  What does that look like? How can we know truth from lies or truth from half truths?  How can we know which direction God wants us to go?

I can only look to the Scriptures to find these answers - here are a few I found:

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27

Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left. Isaiah 30:21

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.  James 1:5

Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.  Jeremiah 33:3 (Ken's life verse)

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.  John 16:13

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.  Psalm 32:8

There are so many nuggets of wisdom in the Word of God that give us assurance that God leads us, that He is directing our steps and that we know His voice.

We often second guess ourselves.  We ask is this God's will.  If it's in His Word or doesn't contradict His word, it is most likely Him.

The most important thing we can do now TO PREPARE OUR HEARTS is to truly be committed to reading, studying and applying His Word in our lives.   The more we fill ourselves with His Truth, the more we will be confident in knowing what God is saying to us.  We will find ourselves in peace in the midst of trials and tribulation.   We will find provision in the midst of lack.  We will find strength and encouragement in the midst of uncertainty.

The next would be to committed to a home group/fellowship.  The Church is great and I'm not discounting what that can do for us......but it is in the smaller home groups that we become real. We are more likely to be authentic and transparent which enables us to grow and become more like Christ.

We also need to be "practicing" hearing God's voice.  It's easy to discount what we hear as our voice, or easily the voice of the enemy (John 10:10) but how do we practice hearing God's voice...  first and foremost it means get in the Word.  His voice will become second nature.  The other that I learned early on - if you have an intersecting thought.  Imagine with me you're going about your day and someone's name pops in your head.  Ask the Lord why? Ask the Lord how He wants you to pray?  Ask the Lord if you should reach out to them and just let them know you're thinking of them and praying for them.  Being on the receiving end of that is encouraging at least.    Here's a recent example of that.  Yesterday morning I was sitting with the Lord and this couple (who I do not know) who lives in Mexico came to mind.  (they are friends of friends our home group).   I began to pray as I felt a spirit of death on the husband.  I felt he was in a very dark place and he wasn't safe.  I reached out to my friend and she told me that he had attempted suicide and was in the hospital.  I told her what I had sensed and added a few other things I heard.  She said it was spot on.

God wants us to know His voice.  He wants us to be so deeply in love with Him that we will do whatever He says to do.  We must be obedient and we must ACT on whatever it is.  Sometimes that will be for our own protection and safety and other times it will be for others.  We need to be able to encourage the body of Christ in these tumultuous times.  We need to be sober and alert.  We need to know that He will give us the grace we need to accomplish all He asks.

Are you willing?  Are you willing to look different & act different than the world?  Are you willing to do whatever He says without question?

I am!!  I'm all in.  I won't say it's easy, but it's rewarding and He is faithful!

What is He asking of you today?  Will you do it?

Here's a little excerpt from David Jeremiah:

Never forget, prophecy is practical!
God lets us in on His plans for the future so we can establish our plans for today. His promises should shape our priorities and sustain our spirits. Billy Graham said, “When the ‘evil day’ comes, we do not have to be dependent upon the circumstances around us, but rather on the resources of God.”
Christians are not normal people. They are extraordinary people living with supernatural power in a downward-spiraling world. We are on a mission to help others and to spread gospel hope. There’s a glorious work for you to do.
We can no longer operate with confusion or complacency. The last days are accelerating, and to me it’s exhilarating. Let’s stand as never before with biblical, Spirit-inspired determination, committed to serve Christ with all our hearts, whether by life or by death.

This I know with all my mind and believe with all my heart: time is short. Our Lord’s words are unflagging and unfailing. They must shape our priorities and energize our plans. As we study our Lord’s great sermon, every word of it underscores our mission. Every syllable establishes our glorious priorities as we await His impending return—that blessed hope—and as we say, Amen! Even so, come Lord Jesus!"

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:22

Prayer & Praise -

I've said it before but I'll say it again- I am soooooooo THANKFUL for God shifting us into this new rental home.  God has provide so faithfully to provide things we need - refrigerator, 2 couches, blinds for doors & windows, buffet, 3 ceiling fans, carpet for the garage.... wow!!!

Pray for Ken's back please- He is doing some better but still is hurting when he sits down.  He pulled a muscle a couple weeks ago working.   Pray for endurance for him.

Pray for me please - sleep & pain.   Someday I will share of God's goodness of healing but until that time, I need the ability to endure.

Pray for provision please- we are still navigating double rent and utilities.  Doing all we can to keep costs down so no surprises (hopefully).   Groceries here are ridiculous.  We try to make it up to Missoula (an hour away) to shop at Winco where its much more affordable but with a gas over $4 here - we have to have a pretty big list to make it worth the trip.  Pray for my Thrive Life business to grow and more opportunity to share it.  michelecole.thrivelife.com

Please pray for my neighbors - two opportunities so far to share the gospel.  Pray it's received!

Please let me know how I can pray for you.  I am thankful for those who reach out with prayer requests.

Hugs, love and prayers.

Enough is Enough

We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God  Acts 15:22b

Have you been experiencing an unbelievable amount of trials recently?
Are you feeling the heaviness of the load?
Is your cross becoming overwhelmingly daunting to carry?
Can you take one more disappointment?
Have you found yourself saying “enough is enough”?

idioms.TheFreeDictionary.com defines Enough is Enough
1.  This situation needs to stop
2.  That is enough, and there should be no more.; Stop!
3.  People say enough is enough when they think that something, usually something bad, should stop.
4.  No more will be tolerated.

Last night we received an email - and to say the least it was a door slamming shut.  It brought discouragement, hopelessness, confusion, doubt and much second guessing ourselves.

This morning in my quiet time, I found myself grieving, weeping, and crying out to God, enough is enough. I told the Lord I don’t know how much more disappointment I can take.  After several minutes of this, I found myself travailing for many others who are in this similar place.  I was naming them one by one and saying Lord - enough is enough!

I’ve shared this before - but years ago when I was at my worst - I was in my bed, lethargic and near death, unknowingly.  I was crying out to the Lord and before my eyes, I saw Jesus kneeling at my bedside.  He had his hands folded in prayer and was weeping.  He looked up to heaven and said Father, enough is enough.   I was sure at the moment, I would be healed. I wasn’t.  I was devastated.  Why would Jesus cry out to the Father and they are one - and not honor that prayer?  Why would the Lord allow me to continue in health issues?

Why is it that a significant number of Christians are finding themselves under incredible intense pressure and circumstances?  Why is it that one thing after another continues to “attack” a good number of the Body of Christ?  Health - sickness, chronic pain, chronic insomnia, lack of finances, the inability to find work, family issues, things breaking down or wearing out, strife, divorce, death,  These are just a few of the long list of “trials” a bunch of our friends and acquaintances are going through.  Many are “all of the above”.   It’s unbearable!!!

Why does one experience so much hardship?  Here are just a couple of reasons that come to my mind.
  1. The enemy is doing everything in his power to turn us against our beliefs and even try to turn us away from God. If he can be successful in either of these, we become useless to the Kingdom of God.  That is Satan’s plan!! End of story.
  1. The Lord may be allowing our circumstances to shape us and grow us into a mighty army, a fortress and also ultimately the pure spotless Bride of Christ.  Our sufferings are for the good of the Church and the glory of God if we look at from an eternal perspective.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

If our eyes are fixed on Jesus we can rise above our circumstances and persevere.

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.  And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5:3-5

This evening, I saw this by Matt Gonzales on Facebook and it strikes a chord.
”One of the marks of our maturity as sons and daughters of God is not how much scripture we can quote, how many miracles we have seen come to pass, or how well we can prophesy, but rather how much pressure or resistance can we be under before we abandon our core beliefs and convictions?”

Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.  Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. 2 Corinthians 4:1-2

I believe the only thing we can do is keep our hope in Jesus and draw near to Him.  He is beckoning us into a deeper intimacy and relationship.  He is preparing us through the fires of affliction.

Are you willing to carry the cross He has chosen for you?
Will you stay committed to the Lord despite the intense pressure?

Ask the Lord for extra grace and mercy so that you can endure to the end!

Quitting is not an option!  (Though it is often a temptation)

But he who endures to the end shall be saved.  Matthew 24:13

A friend wrote this poem for Ken & I in June last year.... continues to be applicable.....still waiting, still weary...but wanted to share with you.....
I love you dearly
For your hearts I see
I know the roads been weary

Just hang on to me.
Michele and Ken this message
It is heartfelt, that is true
Just keep looking upward
For my promises are true
The wait is nearly over
Your journeys to begin
Those dreams held deep inside you
It was I who put them in.
Just hold on a little more
The wait is nearly through
The three of us hand held in hand
Are walking out the door
This new life is a starting
With smiles upon your face
I see the mountains straight ahead
Go! Help my human race

When the Manna Runs Out!

What do you do when manna runs out?
When there isn't enough to pay the bills?
When things start to break down and wear out and you cannot repair or replace?
When you are physically in unrelenting pain? When sleep is almost non existent?
When you are emotionally weary, dry and tired?
What do you do when hope is fading?
When the light inside you is dim?
When things are beyond your ability to endure?
What do you do when the grace has lifted?

God gives us promises in His Word..... but what if they are not being made manifest?

The Promise:
Deuteronomy 29:5-6 Yet the Lord says, “During the forty years that I led you through the wilderness, your clothes did not wear out, nor did the sandals on your feet.  You ate no bread and drank no wine or other fermented drink. I did this so that you might know that I am the Lord your God.”

The Promise:
Psalm 127:2 In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat-- for he grants sleep to those he loves.

The Promise:
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

The Promise:
Isaiah 42:3 A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice

The Promise:
Proverbs 13:12 - Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.

The Promise:
Jeremiah 30:17 "But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the LORD"

The Promise:
2 Corinthians 12:9 My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Have you ever experienced this?  When the promises don't line up with your circumstances?  What do you do?  How do you go on?  Faith tells us to believe for those things that are unseen.  But for how long? Forever?  In Hebrews many believed God for those things He promised and yet NEVER saw them fulfilled in their lifetime.  How does one endure knowing they may not see the promises?  How does one believe God is still good?  How can one's faith not fail when the weight of their circumstances is more than one can bear?  How do you continue to fix your eyes on Jesus when the walls are closing in?  When will the storm end?  Many questions and only one answer!!!

THE ONLY ANSWER I HAVE IS THAT GOD HAS PROMISED TO BE WITH US.  HE HAS PROMISED US A FUTURE AND A HOPE. HE HAS PROMISED WE WILL SEE THE GOODNESS OF THE LORD IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING.  OUR HOPE HAS TO BE IN JESUS - JESUS ALONE!  NOT IN THE PROMISES OF HEALING, NOT IN THE PROMISES OF PROVISION, NOT IN THE PROMISES OF A DESTINY, BUT IN HIM ALONE!  WE CAN CONTEND FOR ALL THESE THINGS BUT WE MUST TRUST GOD FOR WHATEVER OUTCOME. THE LORD MUST BE ENOUGH! HIS LOVE FOR US AND OUR LOVE FOR THE LORD MUST BE ENOUGH!! IT'S A CHOICE - WILL WE CHOOSE JESUS DESPITE OUR CIRCUMSTANCES, DESPITE OUR PAIN AND SUFFERING?

As I'm writing this blog - the song I will survive by Gloria Gaynor keeps running through my head.  (ok, disco mac is still inside  - lol)  I realize it's a secular song - but look at it with spiritual eyes....

The enemy has been trying to defeat us and you too -  with every negative thing he can throw our way.  He can strip of us of everything like he did Job. We have to make a choice to be ok with that.  The good news is that the enemy cannot take Jesus from us!  He cannot take our hope in the Lord away.  We can choose to not lay down and die!  We can choose to rise again!!   He cannot thwart the plans God has for us!   We will survive!

So here are the lyrics and the link to listen to it - if you want to!  LOL  but if you do - as you read/listen - think of her singing about the enemy of our soul - instead of her talking about a guy leaving her.

I Will Survive - Gloria Gaynor

At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side
But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong
And I grew strong
And I learned how to get along
And so you're back
From outer space
I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed that stupid lock, I should have made you leave your key
If I'd known for just one second you'd be back to bother me
Go on now, go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Cause you're not welcome anymore
Weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye
Do you think I'd crumble
Did you think I'd lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, I will survive
Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
And I've got all my love to give and I'll survive
I will survive, hey, hey
It took all the strength I had not to fall apart
Kept trying hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart
And I spent oh-so many nights just feeling sorry for myself
I used to cry
But now I hold my head up high and you see me
Somebody new
I'm not that chained-up little person and still in love with you
And so you felt like dropping in and just expect me to be free
Well, now I'm saving all my lovin' for someone who's loving me
Go on now, go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Cause you're not welcome anymore
Weren't you the one who tried to break me with goodbye
Do you think I'd crumble
Did you think I'd lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, I will survive
Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
And I've got all my love to give and I'll survive
I will survive
Oh
Go on now, go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Cause you're not welcome anymore
Weren't you the one who tried to break me with goodbye
Do you think I'd crumble
Did you think I'd lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, I will survive
Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
And I've got all my love to give and I'll survive
I will survive
I will survive
