What the Enemy Meant for Harm, God Turned for GOOD!

God is good!  All the time!  And all the time, God is GOOD!

As I mentioned in the last blog, we signed the lease and a new chapter has begun.   We are officially moved in.  We were able to do the entire apartment in one weekend and we emptied our storage unit one night last week.  We had our walk through and praise God, they returned the deposit money back.   That chapter is OVER!!   I have been praying and seeking the Lord earnestly as to what caused our previous landlords to treat us the way they did.  I have no revelation.  The only comfort I get from the Lord is that what the enemy meant for harm to us, He turned for good!  And He did.  The house we are in, though not perfect is spacious.  We have lots of storage space, we have a room we will make into a guest room at some point and we have a big enough living room to accommodate our home group (and parking is even better).  I am so thankful!!   God has been so gracious to us this past week.  We have a friend who offered up a buffet cabinet which we are now using in our dining room to host the coffee station for our home group.  I have another lovely friend who is giving us her beautiful mahogany dining room table and 6 chairs (with 3 leaves so it can seat 15) and she is going to refabric the chairs to our decor at her own expense.  Such a gift.   We had a couple of unexpected checks come in the mail and so now we can cover our October rent.  WE are so THANKFUL!!!   God is faithful to meet our every need.  I can't say it's easy to walk in faith and trust God for provision again.....but He is showing me I can.

We have met several of our new neighbors. They are all super nice and they seem to look after each other.  That is awesome.  One is a hoarder.  I was told that things don't leave her but people do and that's why.  So sad.  I am praying for a ministry opportunity there.   We have an 80 year old lady who lives on the back of our property = her apartment is attached to our detached garage.  She has cancer and is a Jehovah Witness.  I believe God placed us right in the middle of all this so we can be a bright light and bring healing and hope.  I'm looking forward to getting to know them and sharing God's love!

Another blessing that came this week was from Ken's boss.  He brought us 25# of beef from his own raised cattle. Delicious!  And he agreed to Ken taking the time off for us to go to Cancun in November.  I won that trip - all inclusive, all expense paid for two.  We are excited as we have not had a tropical vacation since 2011.  I felt like when I won the trip, the Lord said this was His gift to us.  I am so THANKFUL!

I just want to thank you - those who pray for us consistently.  That blesses me more than words can express.  I don't always see what God is doing but behind the scenes He is obviously working.  So thank you for nudging Him with your prayers.   Thank you for those who reach out with texts or emails.  That is so awesome to be on the receiving end knowing that God placed us on your heart.  Thank you for

listening and being obedient.

I would like to ask for prayer for a few things.

1.  I have quite a few friends dealing with some serious health issues.  I've been praying for them for a long time.  I don't understand why God hasn't healed them.  One person was sent home to die within days over a year ago.  And she is still living and is in good spirits, but she suffers greatly.  Another has battled cancer and won and now it's back again.  There are too many to list but if you wouldn't mind just coming into agreement for complete divine healing, that would be awesome.

2.  For an increase in income/provision.  I would love to see my Thrive Life business grow.  It is, but slower than I would like.  I need to find a way to meet more people.   I do have a friend who is going to have a Tasting Party and invite her friends.  That is the best way for me.  So, if you would like to host a tasting party, let me know.  Even if we are not in the same town, I can still do this with you.  This is a great way to earn free food and begin your food pantry for emergencies or everyday easy meal prep.  michelecole.thrivelife.com.

3.  For continued healing.  I do believe God is healing me.  I am having less pain (most of the time). I still am restricted in my knee and have horrible feet pain from plantar fasciitis.    I have been doing aquatic classes for a month or so and I believe that is helping some.  I am also getting 6 hours of sleep most nights.  That is good for me.  I would like more.  Pray for continued motivation to get up at 6am and head to the pool.

4.  Prayer for ministry opportunities with our neighborhood.  Prayers for those God will bring to our home group that we can minister too.

Please let me know how I can pray for you.  I am thankful for those who reach out with prayer requests.

Hugs, love and prayers.

Vision

God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.

The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord.

We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating people into the world & health and wellness retreats and more.

The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but better help them be ready to serve in their church.

In our community building - we will eventually have a 24/7 prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.

Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more souls into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!  We also have a passion to give generously to help those in need and to help others launch into their God given destinies.

New Chapter Begins!!!

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. Psalm 136:1

Whew!!!  A new chapter in our lives begins!!  We signed our new lease last night.  I feel a weight has already lifted!!   We are 99.9% packed and will begin moving things in tonight - and tomorrow will be our big moving day!  Thankful as we have I think 6 men to help us and several women, so it should go pretty quick.  I am so thankful for the friends who have come alongside us to help with the packing and even the beginning of cleaning the cabinets and drawers.  Many hands make things lighter.  So thankful.   I am thankful for the new home, the previous tenants cleaned the house amazingly.  The new landlord seems to be a super flexible landlord accommodating a few things.  He will be an absent landlord as he travels overseas 6 months of the year, but he says, if anything needs to get done, just do it and deduct from rent.  There are a few quirks that we will have to work through but nothing too daunting.   The only thing a little overwhelming is the rent being doubled. The landlord could get $2500 for it - but is only charging us $1500 plus utilities.  To me spending that much money on a rental is more than I care too.  I would prefer to use it for giving into the Kingdom... but God's ways are not ours.  He seems to keep reminding me of that.  LOL!!!

Here's a picture of the outside of our new rental home.  It's 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 car detached garage and a bonus room that's attached to the garage.  It has plenty of space for parking out front and on the left side of it which will be super for our home group.     Definitely an upgrade!

The home group we have is multiplying fast.  We may need God to supernaturally expand this home for us.  Lol!!

Thank you to those who have prayed for us!!  Please continue to pray for provision and for an increase in income!   Please pray for favor with our existing landlord with the walk thru so we can get our earned deposit back.  God is faithful and I know He will provide!  He always has!!

Please let me know how I can pray for you - and how I can celebrate God's goodness with you!

Hugs, love and prayers.

Leap of Faith - Anti-climatic!

The Bible tells us that we are to walk by faith and not by sight.  2 Corinthians 5:7

Transparency alert..........

I am thankful for the ONLY open door God has provided with our housing situation.  In just 10 days we will moving into a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house with extra large bonus room and 2 car detached garage....and a large fenced yard.  That is double the space we have now.  I am thankful for the new landlord who has said he will not raise rents.  (That's what our existing landlord said too).  The new one has been easy to work with so far and quite flexible.  The rent and utilities are DOUBLE what we pay now and unless God opens doors of income, we are upside down big time.  That is not a comfortable place to be.  However, this is the ONLY choice we have...  and we have to trust that God is leading us this direction.  Oh - did I tell you we have a sexual predator right across the street from this new place?

He promises to meet all of our needs.  Phil 4:19.   We have to have $3750 by 8/20.   We have just a small amount right now.  We have an open insurance claim for hail damage we had while in KC.  We are awaiting reply to see if we can just not repair our car and take the cash?   It's been a month with no response yet with continued follow up.

Ken feels like we are stepping backwards.  It's obvious he's frustrated about this.  He made the comment that it seems that "professing Christians" have caused us the most angst, stress & hurt in our lives!    I am just confused.  Why did God tell me in April, He was taking my Facebook income away and then did when that would pay our new rent.   I'm confused because for the past two years, we finally made enough income that we could pay our bills and enjoy a little on the side.  We have lived by faith financially since 2005.  He has always been faithful to provide in different ways, but the toll it takes on you when you have to be utterly dependent on Him to pay bills or buy groceries is real.  I know that's part of our walk and it's confusing for others too.   We have to continue to believe He will take care of us.  This whole move is anti-climatic.  No excitement, no motivation other than we have to get out of dodge!

I am struggling with feelings of anger and frustration at our existing landlords.  I was talking with someone in our home group and she said she was going through the same emotions towards them too.  The tension around here (they live next door) is thick.  They avoid us, run into their home when we come out and passive aggressive behavior.  It is just unreal.  We have no idea what changed in their minds or hearts - but it sure seems demonic. The only communication we have with them is through their attorney.   I go back and forth - praying for them  and then having thoughts of ill will.  I have to continuously forgive them.  Now I truly know what Joseph felt when he was sent to jail for something he didn't even do.   Thankful we aren't going to jail...but the prison of added financial stress is almost as bad.

On the brighter side - we are almost 1/2 packed.  I've had a few friends come to help me during the day. Most of the rest can't be done until we decide to eat off paper plates and not cook.  LOL.   We also have 2 trucks and trailers along with a few men to help with the move.  That will help as we won't have to rent a Uhaul.

I do see God's hand in all this.  Really - we've been praying for God to bring us into a bigger place to accommodate all that He is having us do!  That I'm thankful for!  It truly is a miracle that this house for the price became available and how it came to our attention was an answer to prayer.  We didn't have to qualify our income.  He didn't call our existing landlord because who know what they would have said about us.  He only checked our credit and background which of course we passed with flying colors!  The location (though in town) is convenient.   And yet, He still has 8 days before we sign the lease.... and would love to see BREAKTHROUGH in stepping into DESTINY - the RETREAT property.   ??? That would be our prayer still........

I am thankful for the many of you who reach out to us and share that you are praying for us!   It touches me deeply.   I cry often in thanksgiving to God for you!

I am thankful that God promises a future and a hope!

I am thankful that He is faithful no matter what we are going though!

Please let me know how I can pray for you - and how I can celebrate God's goodness with you!

Hugs, love and prayers.

Let the Weak Say I am Strong

Let the Weak Say ‘I Am Strong’”
David Wilkerson (1931-2011)

We all are guilty of unbelief at times. Often we face yet another struggle and allow the enemy to discourage us. We might develop feelings of inexplicable loneliness or, experiencing a sense of total inadequacy, we become convinced the Lord does not hear us. A cry erupts from our hearts, “God, where are you? I pray, I fast, I study your Word. Why won’t you deliver me from this?”

We go to the secret place of prayer but we don’t feel like praying. Our souls are dry, empty, exhausted from our struggles, yet we don’t dare accuse the Lord of neglecting us in our condition. So we just weakly approach him in what we perceive as humility. Head down, we say with discouragement, “Lord, I don’t blame you. You’re good and kind to me. I’m the problem; I’ve failed you so much.”

Wait! That is not humility. On the contrary, it is an outright insult to a Father who adopted us with a covenant promise to love and support us throughout our lifetime. When we tell him how bad we are — how weak, empty and useless we are to him — we despise all that he has accomplished in us. This grieves our heavenly Father.

Whenever we become discouraged in our faith, the Holy Spirit will speak to us in no uncertain terms. “Enough of this self-pity. Get up! You are loved, called and chosen, and I have blessed you with my Word.” We must discipline ourselves to recall all that God has brought us through. We are to rejoice, knowing he is pleased with what he has done for us.

You may have been tested time after time. Now the time has come for you to make a decision. God wants faith that endures the ultimate test and he gives you his Word to enable you to triumph. If he commands you to do something, he will supply you with the power and strength to obey: “Let the weak say, ‘I am strong’” (Joel 3:10). “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might” (Ephesians 6:10).

January 31st I hit the wall!  I was at a point of not being able to cope one second longer with all the difficulties in our lives and circumstances!  Done!  Finished!  Failed!

I made a decision with God's help to take a sabbatical from everyone and everything.  I decided to stay with friends both in Springfield and in KC where I could be somewhat isolated and in solitude with the Lord for the majority of the time.  I have been getting some wonderful ministry from different places - to overcome all the yuk associated with long term "suffering", we'll call it that for lack of a better term.

In just 10 days, I have had a major transformation in my heart, mind and soul.   And even in my body.  Headaches are gone, kidney pain gone, I've lost 11 pounds, tmj improving and more...... and last night I slept 7.5 hours before I woke up to a text coming in...but then rolled over and slept 2.5 more hours until the next text came in.  That is the first time in 15 YEARS that I have slept a normal nights sleep.  I am believing this will continue!  I have averaged 2 or less hours most nights for 15 years, but occasionally get up to 5 hours   I feel fantastic today.  My spirit is lifted and my heart is leaping with hope again!   I feel so alive and can't remember the last time I felt this good!!!  I am discovering me!!   God has told me that I won't recognize the new me, but I'll love the new me!   I already am seeing this!!!

Oh and for those who know me well, know that I have dealt with fear issues for a very long time.  I have had some progress over the years, but just a quick story.   Last Wednesday night staying at a friends in Springfield, Mo.  She was gone for the night.  I was alone.   I had decided to sleep on the couch instead of the basement where I had been staying just because stairs are difficult for me.   As soon as I laid down to sleep, the tornado sirens went off.  No, seriously!  I had NO fear.  I calmly grabbed my purse and computer and went to the basement silently telling God, I guess you wanted me in the basement after all.  Ha!   I clicked on the weather and saw the house I was in, was in the direct path of the tornado.  I checked Facebook and saw that someone 10 minutes down the road had posted they saw a roof being torn off by the storm.  I calmly prayed Psalm 91 and then said God, I leave this in Your capable hands and went to sleep.  Profound Healing!!!!!!!!     And the other thing is I had ministry just the week before about fear about being in basements because of some stuff that happened to me as a child.  And here I am sleeping in a basement with NO Fear!!!!

GOD IS GOOD!!!!

Also - on this sabbatical, my car's heater stopped working.  Single digit temperatures! Snow, freezing rain & wet streets.  No heat, no defrost!!   My windshield wiper pump quit - so not able to clean windshield off.   I've had to stop at gas stations often to clean the front and back windshields!  And the car is still leaking oil and will require an oil pan gasket replaced.  I'm pretty well stuck not being able to go places.   All this would normally send me into despair...because of lack of funds to do anything about it.   Well, not this time DEVIL.  I am in God's gracious loving hands and I know HE will take care of this..... that's also a big transformation in my heart, mind and soul.  I actually believe this for the first time in the deepest parts of my being!!  I've always believed in my head - but never completely in my heart!   God is faithful!

If you are in ministry, I highly recommend a regular consistent retreat or sabbatical to help you refresh, reboot & restore.   Ken and I realized we have not had a vacation or time alone away from it all since 2010.  That is far too long!   It is no coincidence in my mind why we are going through this right now.  It is the very essence of what God is calling us to do.  To build a retreat center for pastors, missionaries and lay leaders to come and escape from the daily grind, to be renewed and refreshed!  We have to experience it first - so we can truly have the compassion, empathy and ability to understand their needs.

If you are going through a difficult season as so many are, take time out and away if possible, press into the Lord and He will bring the restoration and redemption your soul longs for!

I want to thank all of you who have been praying for us and for my health.   I am so thankful.   I do have a couple prayer requests if you would be so kind.
1.  Pray for provision.  We need to find additional work somehow.  I am looking personally for small business owners to do social media marketing for.  I'm not a pro - but have been able to really increase business in the ones I've done in the past.  I guess I would ask that you pray specifically for "paying" social media jobs - as the past ones I've done ended up being "ministry" and I did not get paid as thought.
2.  Pray for my complete healing, still some spots I need a touch in- I believe it's coming soon.  I am having some new pains because having to drive and especially long distance - right leg and knee.  And I think I twisted my foot on the ice this morning - and it is hurting bad.
3.  Pray for God to provide the miracle for my car (and Ken's too - his is in bad shape just different issues).   We feel God has told us a while back to start praying for new vehicles!
4.  Pray for the vision to manifest soon.  There are some potential indicators it may.

I'll end with this song by Shannon Wexelberg - all her music has been ministering to my heart... but this one really is good!    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8tjqtJA_xU&feature=share

Love Came for Me
If You had not come, Tender baby King
And humbly left Your throne to reach someone like me
If You had not walked upon this broken ground
Where on earth would I be now?
If You had not come
If You had not come to seek the sick and lame
To set the captive free, to break the prisoners chains
I’d still be in the dark, grappling for the door
Longing for some way, somehow
Love came for me, Love rescued me
Love called my name, Love took my place
Sweet Lamb of God, I’m bowing down
My eyes have seen
I’m finally free
Love came for me
If You had not come, willing, spotless Lamb
My sin would be too much for You to take me as I am
But, oh, the blood of Christ that washes over me
Flowing from Your hands and feet
Don’t have to worry where I’d be
(repeat chorus)
This manger King
My everything
Love came for me

Blessings,
Michele Cole

A Change of Perspective

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.  Colossians 3:2

Perspective:  a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.

Have you ever had a situation in your life that no matter what you did, nothing seemed to change?  The circumstances are unrelenting difficult and there is absolutely nothing you can do to change them?  What happens to your thought life when you are stuck in this rut?  If you're anything like me, you can't seem to focus on anything but the need.  It's  not really a joyful or fun place to be.  Sometimes you just need a good Holy Spirit kick in the pants to get you back on track.

I am going to be more thankful and less worried about provision, lack of sleep, etc.
I am going to be more thankful and trust that God is ALWAYS faithful.
I am going to be more thankful and appreciative of what God is doing now through us.
I am going to be more thankful and live in the moment instead of what's to come.

I am THANKFUL for friends like YOU - who encourage and pray for us!
I am THANKFUL for the Lord's kindness and mercy!
I am THANKFUL for a roof over my head and food on the table!
I am THANKFUL for those of you who send financial support from time to time.
I am THANKFUL for God's sustaining my health.  It could be worse!
I am THANKFUL for being able to WORSHIP AND PRAISE GOD!

This past week, we had a car repair that needed to get done.  Instead of freaking out on how in the world we would take care of it, I simply entered into a time of thanksgiving and praise that God would provide.   And... He did!  He showed up as He always does.    I don't know why I worry about this... I guess because I'm weary of not having the ability to just pay for something.  I guess because when we had good paying jobs, we may have taken it for granted?  It's very wearying to have to rely on "God" for every need, and our flesh would prefer a job that provides sufficient income....but those doors don't seem to open.  The only door that is open is God's faithfulness to provide ALL our needs.   I find it ironic that when I first got saved and learned about having a life verse..... I chose.......

Philippians 4:1And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Little did I know that I would be walking this verse out - needing to, having to and getting to trust God would provide ALL our needs!!!  I always say, be careful what you pray for.  LOL!!

My prayer is that I simply can change my perspective by going before the Lord with PRAISE and THANKSGIVING and KNOWING that HE will provide whatever the need is instead of going into fear or worry.  I believe, help my unbelief Lord! Mark 9:24.

If there is anything I've learned in these past 5+ years of the wilderness season we've been in, is that God is FAITHFUL, even when we are not.  He loves when we enter into Praise &
Thanksgiving because He is worthy of all Praise!!   He loves when we come to Him with faith like a child and trust that He is a good daddy.  This has been a hard concept for me to grasp..... my head knows it, but getting it into my heart is challenging because of growing up with an absentee father.  So my perspective of the Father above has been skewed.

Maybe the reason He hasn't changed our circumstances (yet) is because He wants to change our hearts to be in line with who He is, what His heart is for us?   In order to fully walk into and be prepared for the calling He has on us - to be a refuge for those in need, we need to know how to receive His provision.   I remember years ago, the Lord speaking to me.  He said "you have learned how to give well, now I want you to learn how to receive well."    And now today, He is telling me, "well done, my good and faithful servant.  You have passed the test."  Praise GOD!

Today on Facebook Al Mack wrote this:
"I thought it was darkness trying to overtake me. But it was your shadow."
It's easy to misinterpret things according to our expectations. For that reason (if no other), we must steward our expectations carefully.

Perspective is so valuable.
I love this because it's confirming that when others think we are missing the boat somehow, it may be God all along "overshadowing" us.   This has been my sense for sometime.  It's God that opens and closes doors!

So today, especially, but every day - enter His gates with THANKSGIVING and His courts with PRAISE and your entire perspective will instantly be changed!

I'll end with a fun testimony!

GOD STORY:
Earlier this month a friend of ours was heading to Africa for a missions trip. I told him we would be praying for him. Just before he left, I got a word of knowledge for him.
I just had a vision of you praying over a woman. You're holding her hands like her hands are out in front in receiving position. Not inappropriate. And as you hold her hands I see years of heartbreak in her life healed. I sense you're to pray a father's blessing over her that will speak volumes. She's short and a tad heavy. Maybe 40's -50's in age. Her hair is pulled back. Kind of homely looking. But her countenance will change from oppressed to life and she will have a big smile before you get done praying. Not sure but hear name Carletta??

I just heard breaker anointing. Just your presence and prayer will cause much breakthrough
--------
Here's his response 2 weeks later when he arrived home from Africa!!
I met Carletta . . . .it was profound to say the least . . . Jesus healed a broken heart!
Her name is Corlett . . .but her husband calls her Corletta as an affection term, thats why the Lord called her by the same name to show his affection for her!
