When One Door Shuts - Oops Two Doors Shut...

 Isaiah 22:22  I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open! 

This is a verse the Lord has spoken to me on repeat over the years when He says it's time to move on from something AND when He has something NEW for me/us! 

Have you ever had the Lord speak to you through numbers?   I'm not talking numerology.  I'm talking about you see a certain time say 2:22am/pm often? 

Over the years when God has "moved" us, I see a series of numbers often.   And when I start to see them in even greater frequency, things happen pretty quickly.  Well that's the case right now.   I see 222, 1212, 747, 444, 1111 and 1234 every day and several times a day.  There's a blog Pour it Out Ministries wrote that give a good spiritual understanding of what these numbers mean.  Read it here https://pouritout.org/blog/2022/03/19/what-does-1111-2222-333-911-747-and-other-numbers-mean/

We are 12 days to moving day and we still do NOT know where we are moving.  There has been nothing that meets our needs whether it be size or financially.   The market here is unbelievable and all doors are staying SHUT!   We've looked at several rentals.   The ones that might work for us (can't know until we look) are not available to look at or move in until AFTER moving day!  We cannot stay at our current rental longer than 8/3.  Period!!  The rental management companies require that we make 3x the rent to qualify and we don't!     I/we feel the Lord is intentionally and deliberately keeping RENTAL doors closed.  Too long to share here but several stories that you would scratch your heads too that seem to point this way.   If you want to hear them, call me.  Too funny! 

So the rental we live in is the first door shut.  The second door that has just shut is my job with Thrive Life which I've had since 2011 or so.   There was a very hostile takeover last Wednesday and the company is closing down.   If the people who did the takeover had their way, we'd be closed down already but fortunately we  have incredible leaders who got them to allow us to work until all the food is sold or 8/31 whichever comes first.   So we are having a liquidation sale at michelecole.thrivelife.com right now!    We are all in tears and grieving this loss.   So many 1000's of us out of work.  Many this has been their livelihood for such a long time.  It is utterly devastating.  

This weekend, God gave me an attitude adjustment.  I have been wallowing in fear and anxiety over our move.  I have been frustrated and upset that I haven't been healed and am in tremendous pain and so little sleep.  That makes coping with stress so much harder.  I have been in doubt and unbelief about whether God will do what He has promised.  I have been hurt by the words "friends" have spoken to us - trying to crush our faith!  The warfare has been intense!   I have been wanting to give up on life completely begging God to take me home.   I have been questioning whether God really is My provider as He continues to shut down any source of income I can make to contribute to our bills.   Thankful for Ken's job but sadly it is not enough to support us completely.   Our backs are up against the wall and we are between a
rock and hard place once again!  

But we do know is GOD IS FAITHFUL.   God has put us in this position several times over the past 15 + years.  We have been obedient to whatever He has asked of us.   In this move, we started off with great faith and courage...but over the last month or so we have been double-minded.  Me especially.   The enemy has thrown so many fiery darts at us in every area that some moments (not even days) that we feel utterly beaten down.  Again, I am thankful for the very few that reach out to us to infuse courage and feed our faith!  One friend in particular and I've told her this, gets me, she gets every single detail of the emotions I'm experiencing.  She always  has the right words to say and every time I hear from her, I am feeling God's love and care!   So thankful!  And again, I am thankful for those who do reach out!  It could be the one lifeline that is keeping us in the game!  Bless YOU!   I have one friend that calls me almost daily and says 1 day closer to God's blessings!! And just this weekend she said, how do we want to celebrate when God opens the door to our forever home and property that His vision through us can be done?   What great faith!!   

So, I've repented to the Lord but I am confessing to you all as well.   Please forgive me.  Thank you for your prayers and support over the years.  Thank you for being faithful readers of these blogs.   I pray that some have been encouraging to you.  Thank you for trusting me with your prayer needs too.  That has been an honor to be able to come alongside in prayer!  

The BEST IS YET TO COME!   We are going to do our best to not waiver in faith and trust that the Lord will PROVIDE!  He does have a great future for us and a home that will meet our needs and the vision HE has for us!  He will do it!  

We will continue to walk this out in blind faith and trust that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will come through!   We will trust Him to meet every need!  He is a good good FATHER!  We will continue to THANK HIM for what He's about to do and PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME.    And we will trust Him for the outcome! 

Our only prayer and request is that THE LORD WOULD OPEN THE DOOR HE HAS FOR US, PROVISION AND HEALING!

How Do You Get the Wall Before You to Fall?

Joshua v 20 When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city. 21 They devoted the city to the Lord  

Is there a mountain in your life you need moved? Is there a wall that needs to come down? A stronghold broken? Healing? Financial breakthrough?

This past Sunday, our pastor talked about Jericho Walls and the key to them coming down. It really struck me in several ways. I'll come back to that.

Ever since Ken and I got saved, the Lord has had us on a tremendous journey and increasing our faith through it. We sold our home in Kansas City in 2014 and moved to El Dorado Springs, MO because of His still small whisper and a water jug that a guest at our house brought with them. That was our confirmation. We did have several other "clues" that pointed us there. Some thought us foolish and it was definitely a stretching of faith. The time in Missouri gave us wisdom and knowledge about living off the grid, being in the country and learning about being self-sustaining. The night before moving day, our movers called and asked where they were taking our stuff, but we didn't know until after that call and let them know in the morning. There was grace for that. But not something I'd recommend.

There have been other times with moving that have been just as much a faith journey- see previous blog. And here we are again with the landlord selling the home and having to be out by 8/1. Just over 5 years ago, the Lord moved us from Missouri to Montana to fulfill the destiny He has for us. We are ready. He says we are ready. It's been a long long long journey of growing in Him. We've learned to be content with very little and we have learned greater humility and we have grown in faith more than I cared for (my fault - I prayed for world overcoming faith when I got saved).

We are less than 60 days out from needing to move. We have no idea where we are going (yet). God does....but unfortunately for us, He has not revealed it.

I have to say, we are weary. We are not wanting a last minute move and yet the days are ticking by. We want to KNOW where we are going and soon. We have faith and confidence that GOD will show up and HE will provide a place. We know His timing is perfect. But if you've ever had to wait until the last minute to move, you'll know how stressful that can be.  

We are looking at rentals HOWEVER we are contending for the Lord to open the door to DESTINY. That means a sizable acreage property with a home on it and the funds to support the vision and all that it requires. It's a faith walk for sure.  

We are praying for God to open ONLY the door HE has for us and shut all other doors. And the good news HE is shutting or keeping shut all doors for rental properties that possibly could work. Most are way out of our budget or too small or a huge amount of stairs. We do NOT feel we are to downsize everything. We've tried to sell furniture and other large items, but they are not selling. But anything little like a lamp, rug or a portable air conditioner etc is selling fast. So it seems like doors are staying closed for the bigger ticket items.

We have NO backup plan. We have no place we can just stay or store items and stay. We have no family we can stay with. We have GOD and God alone! That's enough!

Everything the Lord has been speaking and confirming through random prophetic words or in our quiet time is STAND and CONTEND for destiny! Contend for my healing! Contend for the breakthrough. And yet everything in the NATURAL is completely opposite!

So back to Jericho Walls! You see our walls. What is the key for us to have the breakthrough into DESTINY?

Here's what my pastor said - "The answer is UNITY!" Unity in prayers, unity in thoughts, words, actions and believing with us! It's true. What prayer would God answer, mine or yours when we are not praying in unity or agreement? The answer is unity for YOU as well.

Here's what I've seen. When you ask someone to pray for you - say for healing of a broken bone. And then they pray but tell you they prayed that the bone would just be comforted, not healed, how would you feel? Is that someone you want praying for you? If you asked someone to pray for your wayward child who is far from the Lord, would you be ok if they prayed for your child to just be happy doing whatever they are doing?? Seems ludicrous. Well, sadly that's often what I see. Maybe not these examples, but just the same, not praying in agreement or unity. It is hard enough to walk in faith. Believe me, we get enough flack from the enemy, why add fellow believers to that difficulty. Instead, let's come alongside someone in their time of need - believing and see what God can and will do in unity.

When someone asks us to pray for them, we come in agreement with what they are asking for (of course biblically based) and we also ask them what the Lord is speaking to them. If that seems sound, then why would we not want to pray in agreement?

Unity is key! Years ago, the Lord spoke those very words to Ken and I. When we are in unity, there is peace. When we pray in unity, answers come. When we are in disunity, God can't bless that. Do you hear what I'm saying? God wants to bless His children, but His children are not in UNITY!!

So.. what Jericho Wall do you have that needs to come down? What can we pray for you for in unity? Please reach out!

WE are asking for prayer in unity of what we feel the Lord is saying.

Open only the DOOR HE has for us and keep all others shut (and that He would reveal that soon). We contend for what we feel He's speaking and we trust Him for the outcome. If that door is another rental, we'll walk through it. But what IF it's the destiny property? What if God wants to do that NOW? Why would we want to settle for an Ishmael?  

 Matthew 9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

A Possibility! PRAYERS NEEDED PLEASE!

Today, I received a text from a local pastor I had reached out to about housing.  She told me about a rental that was coming available in just 2 weeks.  We have to be out in 3 weeks.  We went and looked at it.  It's definitely doable as far as space and location.  However, the rent and utility bills would be double what we pay now.  But it's a place we could be comfortable.   It's at least $1000 below what most are going for! 

We need wisdom and provision to make this decision! We need $4000 just to sign a lease.  We need to make the decision quickly as there are so many people looking for a place to rent.  And yet, we don't want to get ahead of God and make a rash decision out of desperation.  

There is NOTHING else that is available that we know of YET.   

Would you please be in prayer for us and if the Lord would show you anything that would help us, please share.

What Does Gumby Have To Do With Our Move?

We can make our plans,
  but the Lord determines our steps. Proverbs 16:9

Are you one who likes a plan? A semi-set schedule that you can follow?  A plan often brings peace, comfort and a guide to help keep you on track.  But what if the Lord says "Be flexible" and all of that goes out the window.  

I remember back in the 90's we were taking a vacation to Kauai with some friends.  I solicited all the things they wanted to do and what we wanted to do and started mapping out a plan and making schedules (so that we could get all of it in).  After discussing some options, they said, "we'd prefer to be spontaneous" and if we can't do something, that's ok.  So in an effort to accommodate them, I said, ok, I will "plan" to be spontaneous.  I still had to make a plan, a plan to be spontaneous. Planning to be spontaneous at least gave me peace in some odd way.  

Well, here we are again.  I am being asked of the Lord, to plan to be spontaneous as we MOVE across the country!!!  What I believe that means is, be flexible.  Be flexible and open to His promptings each day.  Be flexible on the timing of leaving here and the timing on arrival in Montana. Our movers come 4/9 (that may change) and we had planned to stay in KC for a couple nights, but now that may be changing.   It also means being flexible in not making hotel reservations and just "winging" it as we go.  We are finding that many hotels & air bnb's are not open along our path.  It means being flexible on the actual "path/roads" we take as we are being told certain states do not want you traveling through due to COVID19?  I haven't actually seen this anywhere but am making some calls to the various states and their local governments to confirm or not. 

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.  1 Chronicles 16:11

As I was praying this morning in my quiet time, I heard "Gumby".  I was like what does Gumby have to do with anything? I felt led to do some research about Gumby, because frankly I have not much knowledge about his character other than his body was flexible. 

Here's a few key points I found:

1. Because Gumby was a Claymation™ creation, he was eminently flexible and had a special knack for getting in to, out of, and through fantastic and often-danger-filled escapades. 

2. Gumby's power is much more than flexibility. Gumby is more than ever becoming key to success in whatever world you tool around in. The next time a colleague, friend or Aunt Bertha asks how you triumph in the face of unbelievable odds, tell them "Gumby."  

3. Gumby is action. Lazy is easy. Action is often strenuous and sometimes exhausting, but those who have Gumby (or saw him on TV) know that taking the effortless path rarely gets you where you need to be. Identifying nascent trends, for example, requires vigorous analysis of information from multiple sources, searching beyond your comfort zone.

4. Gumby learns. In each of his escapades, Gumby learned from those around him. He sought information and explanation, and had fun doing it. Today, we're bombarded by data from more sources than we can count, and those who embrace Gumby invest the energy to constantly expand their wealth of knowledge.

How our move compares to Gumby - 

1. Much like Gumby, to some, our move seems dangerous & ridiculous and yet to others adventuresome.  I waffle between the two.  As mentioned before, the Lord told Ken and I on the same morning to book our moving truck for 4/9.  Two days later the Lord said to me, crossover on Passover.. and when I looked up the date for Passover this year, it begins on 4/8 sundown and goes to 4/9 sundown.  That was pretty amazing to learn.  Leaving our Egypt and heading into our Promise Land.  

2. Much like Gumby, we are going to triumph with God's help in the face of unbelievable odds.  Here's how I know that - 2 Corinthians 2:14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ's triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.  We are up against a lot of odds - 1. Will our SUV make the trip safely?  No heat/defrost (forecasting snow/ice along our path), big oil leak problem.  Both of these repairs require hours of labor, the cost would be more than the car's worth.  2. We are on a tight budget and not being able to "book" a room could mean higher cost - but yet trusting God!!  3.  Not knowing with roads to take or being flexible on that gives me some anxiety... I'm not fond of mountain passes and high elevations and especially with inclement weather and pulling a trailer with a car that's not necessarily safe.  But God!! Right, He will lead us into victory!  

3. Like Gumby, strenuous and exhausting activity of a move is accurate.  It has been physically hard for Ken & I. And it has been requiring much seeking the Lord, keeping up with the news on COVID19 and how it affects travelers, etc.  So far, I don't think it's going to impact us too much except using extra caution at gas stations, rest stops, hotels and eating... LOL!   

4.  Like Gumby, I am/we are learning and growing our faith, trust and utter dependence on the Lord.  Like Gumby, we are expanding our wealth of knowledge in areas we never thought we'd would be interested in.   Years ago when we first got saved, there was a song we loved (still do)and prayed the words of this song each time.   It's called Live the Adventure of Jesus - Here's a link to it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNSKVbhhIsY.  Oh, dear ones, be careful how you pray.  God just answers those prayers in ways you never imagined!! Hee Hee!!  

I had no knowledge or desire to know about Gumby until God led me to it today.  It is so amazing how God speaks to us and uses odd characters to do so.  

Is there a situation in your life that requires you to be like Gumby?  Is there something you could be more flexible on?   Know that God is your source for everything as you keep tuned into His voice.  He will always lead you in triumph as you follow His lead!!

1.  Praise God that He is with us!! 
2.  Praise God that Ken's last day of work was yesterday.  It ended well! His boss even made a comment that Ken had to hurry and get out of there or he would cry.  
3.  Please continue to pray for my healing and for sleep.  
4.  Please continue to pray for provision for a new/reliable suv before we go. 
5.  Please continue to pray for God's provision as we arrive in Montana...and also to step into the fullness of the destiny God has for us.   
6.  Please pray for open doors for a place to stay as we travel and no issues or hiccups. 
7.  Please pray for my heart.  If I focus any amount of time on the thought of not being able to say goodbyes in person, it hurts.  I am extremely relational.

The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but better help them be ready to serve in their church. 

In our community building - we will eventually have a 24/7 prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.  

Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more souls into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!  We also have a passion to give generously to help those in need and to help others launch into their God given destinies.  

  

Testimony of God's Goodness!

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord  in the land of the living. Psalm 27:13 

Last Thursday through Saturday we had our huge moving sale.  When we had a garage sale 3 years ago, we had over 500 people come to it.  I have to admit I wasn't sure what to expect as most people are staying home.  But God!! 

We had advertised the sale in the local paper, had FREE radio coverage for a week and had a very successful sale!  By successful, I mean, everything we wanted sold, SOLD (or was given away)!!!  Even things that we didn't think would sell, DID!  God brought the crowd (safe social distancing and used precautions, gloves, hand sanitizer and washed hands often).  Of course, we said when they arrived at our sale, "the more you buy, the cheaper things get" and BELIEVE me when I say they took great advantage of that.  They left with boxes full!!!  And for that we are THANKFUL.   We had such a beautiful opportunity to pray for many people and infuse courage in these times.  We had one man say that he would be going to the doctor the week of our departure and IF he was healed from our prayers, he would stop back by and let us know.  He was so filled with faith and hope after we prayed for him, it was such a blessing.  We had one lady say that we were "unusual".  She had never met anyone that not only gave away things or for such a good price but was amazed that we prayed for folks.  She was a 3x repeat customer to our sale.  LOL!  Our neighbor down the street brought 2 huge boxes of kitchen pots and pans and said whatever we got for them, we could keep.  Well not 5 minutes after she dropped them off, a couple came. They had been rummaging through the pots and pans and shared with us how their house burned down in December.  They had nothing and was starting over.  The Lord impressed on me to give them both big boxes!  We did... they were in tears!!!  God is so good!  He is faithful to provide!!!  Another fun testimony - we sold our kitchen table & chairs, a freezer, washer and dryer and our refrigerator - all of them we get to use until just a day or two before we go.  3 different buyers and they all said we could keep them until we GO!!!  That is a huge blessing!!!!   We are so THANKFUL for the support of this town and God's nudging in them to come and buy up everything!!!!   There was just a few boxes of little stuff left -that we donated to our Christian school for their fundraising sale.  

We are down to 10 days and counting.... We have so much to do still.  Ken is back to work this week, so a big chunk is up to me.  I am thankful for the grace God is giving me during the day to get things done.  (little bites of cupcakes at a time - previous post).  When evening comes and we quit for the day, I am pooped big time and in great pain.   

God has promises for each of us.  His promises are Yes and Amen!   What are some promises He has given to you that you are believing Him for?  

This is one that He spoke to me back in 2002.  He spoke to me and said I will be healed completely!  The last 18 years since this promise have been completely opposite of it and it's been difficult to hold on at times.... but I am trusting that He will bring me into a place of healing soon. 

But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves. Malachi 4:2  

This next one is my life verse.  Little did I know how much I'd have to cling to it.  

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 4:19 

Prayer requests:

Please pray for Ken - as he finishes his last days at work this week.  Strength, stamina and protection from any sickness.  Please also pray for his boss.  Ken's replacement has not been working out as well as hoped.  They are going to miss Ken.  Many from the garage sale recognized him and said the same thing - they will miss him.   So proud of my husband. 

Please pray for me - manifestation of healing from pain and insomnia primarily.  I do feel that it's coming.  I am trusting to see God's goodness!!!

Please pray for peace in my heart.  So many people I want to see and hug goodbye and can't.  We are going to stop in KC to see Ken's folks but then take off for MT quickly.  With the quarantine it's just not possible. I can't dwell on this thought long or I get very discouraged.  I have been holding back tears.  When they hit, I'm sure it will be a flood!!!   If you would want to FB messenger us, I would love to see you!  OR please come visit us when it's safe to do so!! 

Please pray for ongoing provision to pay rent, food (having to sell or giveaway all of what we have), insurance, etc.  We have both been looking for work but with this COVID many businesses are closed down.  We will continue to look when we get there, but they are on lockdown so not sure how to do that?  I don't know if we will be able to find a place to even get on the internet as nothing open???  But God.. He will make a way until He opens the doors to destiny!

Please pray for God to bring us a new suv or provision to buy one.  It's going to have to be Him....Ken took to mechanic last week and the work to be done is just to extensive and for as old as it is and with high mileage, does not make sense.    We do have someone who offered us there 2005 GMC Yukon - but costs to ship would be 2k or more and there are some needed repairs.  God is working!!  

Please pray for the PROVISION for the VISION God has given us.  We are moving to Montana with His leading..... and are trusting God to OPEN some BIG DOORS!
