Encouragement to Other Believers!

 “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Are you going through a trial?  Do you know someone that is?

Are friends and or family encouraging you, praying for you and helping you walk through it?   Are you feeling loved and cared for?

Are you encouraging them, praying for them and helping them walk through their trial?  Are you supporting them in whatever way they may have need? Do they feel loved and supported by you?

The Bible tells us to encourage one another and build each other up.  It's not an optional thing, it's a command for us as believers to help others!

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2

I am thankful for the handful that are standing with us in this very narrow faith journey.  I am thankful for the ones who reach out and are praying in agreement with what we feel the Lord is asking of us.  I am thankful for the ones that remind us of who God is and help get our focus off our circumstances.   I am thankful for the Word of God that helps us to encourage ourselves in the Lord.  Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.  Isaiah 55.     We are 21 days to MOVE and nowhere to go YET!!!   We are contending for HIS open door!!  Trusting Him for the outcome!

If you look around MANY, and I mean lots of God's children are going through something difficult.  Different circumstances, but trying nonetheless.   There are some at the end of their rope.   A person I pray for recently confessed attempted suicide and now is in a mental hospital trying to get help.    Those thoughts run rampant amongst believers and most of their friends and family don't even know.   Some are at their breaking point.

I can tell you one thing there are many of Job's friends in the Church.  Maybe well intentioned, but harmful to a person's faith.

Here are just a few things people have said to us:

"If God doesn't show up you can live in your car.  I know several who have had to do that".   (now that's encouraging!)

 "What are you going to do?  Maybe you should just move away"   (God moved us here, why would we leave)

"Maybe you don't have enough faith"   (only need faith the size of a mustard seed-oh and the Bible says HE gives us all a measure of faith, I'm pretty sure that's enough!)

"Maybe God wants you to downsize your vision"  (It's His vision -not ours)

"You can rent a 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment"  (if we felt God asking us to downsize again, we would.)

"Been there done that".  (is that compassionate?)

Yep, it's painful. It's hard to walk in faith.  It's hard to go against the grain.  It's hard to be less than a status quo Christian.  It's hard when others want to give their 2 cents worth but would never ever trust God at this level.

What can we do?  We can be a true follower of Christ.  That means, love support and kindness.  It means being generous with our time, talent, treasure and touch.   Reaching out to someone in need is our privilege and honor as a Christian.    Being a border bully or one of Job's friend is not what God asks of us.   Let's be one that lifts another person out of the pit they might be in.  Let's be the one that strengthens and encourages.

So, let's ask ourselves this question?  Are we a friend of Job's?? Or are we a disciple and follower of Christ who loves others well!

Let's dig into the Word and become more CHRIST LIKE!

Let me know how I can pray for you!

Hugs, love and prayers.

Vision

God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.

The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord.

We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating people into the world & health and wellness retreats and more.

The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but better help them be ready to serve in their church.

In our community building - we will eventually have a 24/7 prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.

Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more souls into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!  We also have a passion to give generously to help those in need and to help others launch into their God given destinies.

What Is on Your Bucket List?

Proverbs 16:3 - Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.

What is on your bucket list?

What is a bucket list - A bucket list is a list of the experiences or achievements that a person hopes to have or accomplish during their lifetime.

Typically you might see travel, or start a hobby, fears to overcome or foods you want to try.  If you Google it, you'll find so many ideas people put on their list.  It's almost become "hip" or puts you "in the know" if you have a bucket list.

I'm going to switch gears a minute but I promise you, I'll come back to this and tie it all together.

These past few weeks (really much longer) I have noticed patterns in people, in things written on social media, in words, in behaviors and actions.   I've been seeing and hearing commitments being broken, loyalty wavering and integrity just going out the window.  For those that don't know Jesus, that can be, maybe normal or even expected......however for the believer, that should not be the case.  Culture is changing rapidly and declining in every moral & ethical way.  Many "believers" are following along with the "world".   Oh, we may go to church and read our bible and pray, but are we really committed to following Christ and His way.  Are we truly being a "doer" of the Word of God.

The verse above says if we commit our works to the Lord, our plans will be established.  I researched what this actually means (having a really good idea) and I found on Bible Reference an excellent definition that speaks volumes....

"The best chance for success comes when plans are aligned with truth.

That means those who submit to God's will and seek Him

are in a better position

 than those who ignore or reject Him."

If we are choosing to seek God daily for what His plans are, listen and act on those, then we would know what to commit to and do it, or what not to do.

These next examples are not meant to be offendable, but to make a point.

Recently,  I came across a situation where a person invited another out for a special lunch.  They set a date and then the person who invited the other said something like "well, if God would have me to do something else, we may have to reschedule"    What that sounded like to me was if something better comes along, I will cancel.

Another recent thing I saw played out was someone asked for help getting to a medical appointment.  The other person said yes, they could take them.  Later that night they got a text from that person saying they couldn't take them after all because they had a bible study to attend.  My two cents again would be the other person felt studying the Bible was more important than actually living the Bible out.

Am I off base for having these reactions?   Is this warranted?

Now let's talk about that.  Do you have a home group or bible study that you attend on a weekly basis?  Are you committed to it?  Do you often make excuses as to why you can't attend? Maybe you felt the need to go shopping beforehand and you just don't have the energy to go?  Or maybe someone invites you out for a meal, do you say sure and put the bible study on the back burner?  I completely understand if an emergency comes up, or there's a need that needs to be met - say taking a friend to the doctor or you have a sick child or something that just isn't in the normal routine.  I'm not a legalist.  I'm not saying that.  What commitments do we make knowingly - and then not stay committed too?

Someone once said to me as a new believer, committing to something might require you take something else off your plate to free up your schedule.  Often we over extend ourselves.  We need to pray and seek God in every commitment we make.  He will lead us on a path that will be rewarding, fulfilling and non-chaotic!

Here's my point.   As Christians.  As people who love the Lord or say we do, our actions need to line up with that.   If we truly are following Christ - an interruption  to help another is one I believe He would be thrilled about.  If we make a commitment, I believe God would want us to honor that barring any emergency or something random.   Relationship with Jesus and others are really the two most important things He tells us in Scripture.   He desires us to study His Word - but to also live out the Word in real time.  If someone texts you or calls you to pray - do you pray right then?   If someone needs assistance and you are able to help, do you do it?  Even know this next passage talks about those who are naked and poor, it really means, the Body of Christ or anyone for that matter  - rich or poor, hungry or not.

Matthew 25:35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

What's on your bucket list?  What do your priorities look like?  Does your bucket list line up with loving God and loving others first?   I'm not saying you can't have a bucket list that meets some desires, because I do believe God often puts those desires in our heart and He wants us to find joy in different things.  What I'm saying however, is God and His will and His ways your ways and your plan?  There is much to be done in the Kingdom of God before He returns?

We need to be about our Father's Business and all other things will fall into place, Matthew 6:33

I don't mean condemnation by this.  I'm just being obedient to highlight what the Lord has been showing me.  I have been hearing this from others and seeing posts on social media talking about commitment or lack of.  I'm definitely not the only one feeling this.  So, I am calling this a pandemic of Christian character.   I saw this quote today and decided to make a graphic from it and add in the Scripture that sums it all up.

"There is something wrong with your character if opportunity controls your loyalty.  Author unknown.

Matthew 5:37 Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ Anything more comes from the evil one.

Jesus had a bucket list getting to the cross.  Every day He was interrupted and unoffendable.  He chose to stop and care for people and cultivate relationship.   He still completed His bucket list - He made it to the cross for us!   If He hadn't stopped for the multitudes of interruptions, how much would have been missed?  Are we willing to be interrupted from our check list of things that need to be done for Him as well.  His sacrifice is far greater than anything we may have to give up.

I think every believers bucket list should have the following on it:

1.  Love God & Love Others - well!

2.  Be part of an authentic community.  Love, acceptance, family, accountability, correction, teaching and fellowship.

3.  Make Integrity, Community, Commitment & Relationship a priority - if you're doing #1, you're probably doing this.

I'm thankful for those who reach out asking for prayer!   Please let me know how I can pray for you.

Praise/Prayer

1. God blessed us with a 4 day trip to Flathead Lake - to stay in someones studio apt on the lake at no charge.  It was such a wonderful time admiring the beauty of the lake and the mountains.   This was our view!

It's Is Finished!

“Let the kindness of the Lord our God be over us. Make the work of our hands last. Make the work of our hands last!”   Psalm 90:17

Have you ever had a big project to do and when it was done, you were over the top excited?   A sense of accomplishment, maybe?  A tasks to check off your list as complete!

I don't know exactly when but back around 2007 or so, the Lord put it on my heart to write a book.  He even gave me the book title.

I began to write the book, well at least spit out some thoughts about each chapter and some rough chapter titles.  I had some scriptures sprinkled on the pages.  I had at least started it.  I was having so much trouble writing because I'm one who wants to correct grammar, punctuation, etc as I write.  Well, that meant I might get a paragraph or two written all day!  LOL!!!   It seemed as if I wasn't making much progress and that wasn't fun.  I'm the kind of person who likes to start things, fire-starter, but leave the finishing to someone else.

That's not necessarily what one can do when writing a book, so I procrastinated and procrastinated.  My health crashed after that and there was just no way I could get back to it.

Just a few months ago, I was sitting around feeling like God wanted me to get back to writing this book.  I prayed and I said Lord, if You want me to do this, i need help.  I need someone who can let me spit out the words and they do the editing and whatever else needed to be done.  And He did just that.  I can't tell you much more on this because, it's one of the stories in the book.  You'll just have to get the book when it comes out!

Anyways, three months ago, we started this journey together and TODAY, we finished the writing part.  She is finishing up the final edits and we do have another story or two that is coming in to be inserted, but the book is written.

We are about ready to send it to two "editors" to do their part.  Will also be sending it to a few people who will be writing the forward and some endorsements.  God has given me so much favor in this area and I am thankful. The editors have offered to do it FREE of charge!   That's huge!

Here's where I need additional support and prayer.  I have researched and have spoken to many who have gone before me that are authors.  A publishing company (self-publish) is the most economical and best way to go these days for many reasons.  But they still cost!!   Additionally, it costs to have the books printed.  I also felt like the Lord gave me a specific amount to pay my friend who was invested much time with me on it.   This is a chunk of money I don't have, yet!  I say yet, because God inspired this book and so I know He will provide!   I'm just super stoked to send it to the publisher!

I am soliciting YOUR prayers for the provision to GET PUBLISHED!  And if by chance the Lord would put it on your heart to sow into this book project, that would be wonderful!!!   No pressure.  If so, please reach out to me so I can suggest a way to send funds and be sure it's tied to the book funding.   Thank you in advance for prayers and/or financial support!

Even more exciting is that God has given me THREE more books to write.

The 1st one - is on prayer - something  you've prayed for and how God answered it - or didn't.  This is the one I just finished.

2nd - is on how our words and actions as Christians can impact others

3rd - is on Giving

4th - is my life.

I have much work ahead of me and believe it or not, I'm already motivated and ready to get started... and so is my friend who is helping!  God is good!

~~~~~
On another note, my sister Jackie is moving from Kansas City to Hamilton, MT here next week. She leaves there on Tuesday and here on Friday!   This is a huge huge big step for her - but also a very big part of "next steps" towards destiny.  Too much to share here.    Please pray for her safe travels & for all that she has need of to get here!
We are still believing God for the BIG VISION He gave us... and there have been many "things" that seem to be lining up.  Still don't have timing.... but we must be getting closer.
Prayer points -
Prayer for Ken and endurance with job.  Thankful he got some overtime this week, though his body feels it.  He had to work outside in colder temps.  We dropped down into the 30's this week overnight.  I think we may see spring, or maybe summer temps later this week.  Not ready for summer.  I want spring! :)
Prayer for me - for my health - still much chronic pain and sleep issues.  Thankful for some sleep - believing for the complete healing as promised!
Prayer for finances - We are still very dependent on the Lord for day to day provision.  He is faithful!
Our home group is going strong.  We all so look forward to meeting each week.
Thank you for your love and support of us and all that God is doing.  We are thankful for those of you who pray for us.
Hugs, love and prayers.
What Should Our Response Be?
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:18 NIV
Has there been a time in your life that you or someone you know needed consistent ongoing prayer?  Maybe a prolonged sickness?  A marital crisis or pending divorce?  A financial crisis?  A wayward child?  Perhaps someone in addiction? Maybe a family member in the military who is on the front lines?  Someone on the mission field?  Your pastor and his family?  My point is, everyone has need of prayer...and sometimes that need is for a very long time.
I want to ask you a question and I would value your honest answer and opinion as to why you answered the way you did.   When I ask the question, it may seem very obvious what the answer should be......but again, if you really look deep inside of yourself, see if your answer could be more than one or even all of them?
Here's the question:  If someone asks you for prayer, what should your response be?
A.  Tell them, they need only ask you once because the answer has already been given.
B.  Ignore them or avoid any response.
C.  Tell them they are too needy and to quit asking for prayer.
D.  Unfriend, unfollow, block or remove them from your life.
E.  Tell them you will pray for them and then don't.
F.   Pray for them (every time they ask)
Years ago in one of our bible study groups, a person who had been coming for over a year, finally decided to leave the group.  There was no explanation, just didn't come back.  I reached out to them and asked if they would share why they left, just so we could be sure things ended on good terms.  This person told me that they were tired of praying for the same people and same requests.  I was stunned. I was confused as to why a Christian would say that.   I didn't have any response to that  (at that time) except to bless them.
Not too long ago, a new friend had prayed for me.   After they prayed, they said, now you don't need to ask me again because it's done.  You just have to believe the finished work of the cross.  And that person has not prayed for me since (at least that I know of).
Just recently, I was told that I ask for prayer too much and I'm bugging people by asking.  Ouch!!
These comments led me down a dark ugly road.  Guilt, shame, condemnation, fear and more.  I started to isolate and beat myself up wondering if I was just a pain in the ??? (you fill in the blank) to you and to all those who I have asked for prayer from.   I felt like I was a burden and began to wonder what's the point?  I began to doubt God's love for me.  Oppression came over me like a ton of bricks.  I was hurt, grieved, depressed and feeling hopeless.  But God!!
I have to admit I am not thrilled about needing prayer as much as I have in this season.  My health has been a battle for a very long time as well as other circumstances I/we face.  I can't begin to understand why the healing hasn't come, when 1000's of people have prayed for me; when God promises healing in His Word; when I've done all I know how to do.  Asking for prayer has not come easy for me.  If you've known me for any length of time, you would know that I never would ask for prayer years ago.  I didn't feel worthy enough.   And yet in this past season, God has wanted me to be transparent in my need.  It's embarrassing, humiliating & humbling to say the least and it has opened the door to many blessings - but also to unimaginable attacks by fellow Christians.   Believe me when I say, if you're tired of praying for me (or someone else) imagine how tired they must be for still wanting prayer for their circumstances. Put yourself in their shoes and see if your opinion changes?
SO, this blog isn't about me, really... but using myself as an example.  The real question is what should our response be when someone you know or yourself finds need of ongoing prayer?  I refer back to the Scripture above - Ephesians 6:18 “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”
Here's an excerpt from Rick Renner on praying...
The word “always” is taken from the Greek phrase en panti kairo. The word en would be better translated at. The word panti means each and every. You could say that this word panti is an all-encompassing word that embraces everything, including the smallest and most minute of details. The last word in this Greek phrase is the word kairo, the Greek word for times or seasons. When all three of these words are used together in one phrase (en panti kairo) as in Ephesians 6:18, they could be more accurately translated at each and every occasion.
Ephesians 6:18 conveys this idea: “Pray anytime there’s an opportunity — no matter where you are or what you’re doing. Use every occasion, every season, every possible moment to pray….”
I also want to highlight one other point in that Scripture... it says pray in the Spirit.  I have found myself praying more in the Spirit and asking for that when I ask for prayer.  Why? First -simply because I know then, we are praying God's will.  Second, have you ever asked for prayer for something specific and you find out the person who prays is actually praying "against" what you asked?  That is counterproductive!!!!  So, praying in the Spirit covers it all!!
Another response.....We are to respond in Love - Matthew 22:36-40  36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”    Loving You Lord helps us to love others well.  Praying for others shows your love for God and love for them!
Years ago, our pastor preached a sermon series on "How can I pray for you NOW?"  This
title is what grabbed me.  It says it all and put me on a mission to be INTENTIONAL about praying for ALL who ask or have need.  I seek the Lord daily - and He shows me WHO to pray for.  Often, I will reach out to them and let them know they are being prayed for.  Why?  Because I know being on the receiving end of needing prayer, it encourages, strengthens and gives hope. Sometimes knowing people are praying gives the ability to face one more day!   Prayer is vital to the Christian walk both on the giving and receiving end.  I sometimes will post on Facebook offering to pray for those who want it.  That is probably my most looked at post. I see this on others posts as well.  Do you know sometimes (often) when God lays it on your heart to pray for someone, you are or have the answer to their prayer.
There are so many people who desperately need a touch from the Lord.  They need our prayers.  I want to encourage you, challenge you and to remind me, to be INTENTIONAL and DELIBERATE and CONSISTENT in praying for those God puts on your heart - or in your path whether they ask for prayer or not.  Your prayers are POWERFUL and EFFECTIVE!
What IF - your prayers for them is the TIPPING POINT:
that brings their answer,
that brings the healing,
that brings the provision,
that keeps someone from giving up on God or life,
that brings deliverance to the addicted,
that brings a soul into the Kingdom,
that brings reconciliation in a marriage,
that protects a soldier from death or injury,
that helps the missionary stay committed to their calling,
that keeps a pastor from quitting or committing suicide.
that (you fill in the blank)
So, if you are in need of prayer, please email me at michele@wantinsight.com and I would be happy to pray for you!  There are quite a few of you who have responded in the past, and I am committed to praying for you until you see the answer you are desiring!!!  (Maybe that's why I don't sleep much at night - I'm up praying for you!  and it's an honor!! - seriously it blesses me that I can pray for YOU!)
Praise Reports/Prayer Requests:
Praise God - I finally decided to get a prescription sleep aid. I've not wanted to do that for fear of becoming dependent or addicted.  I was prescribed one that is NON -habit forming.  So Thankful!   I am not sleeping perfectly - but I have had 5 out of 10 good nights with it so far.  Yea God!! It's amazing what sleep can do.  16 years of serious sleep deprivation!
Praise God -God has been sustaining our SUV.  We still have a main seal oil leak, NO heat and other issues.  Too much $$ to put into an older car with high mileage.   We are believing God for the provision for a new one.  And it amazes me how God is sending people (out of the blue) to pray for us - and stand with us for a new vehicle.  One person came to us and said that God told them to pray for us for a new SUV..  not knowing that we have been for 3 years.  They went on to ask if it was a "burgundy suv"  Yes, we have been praying for a 2019/2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited and we liked the burgundy color.  Lol....  then they said one day they were praying for us in the Spirit and a burgundy suv pulled in front of them with the license plate "GIVE" on it!!  That's a pretty good confirmation in my opinion!!
Praise God - God has been sustaining my health despite the ongoing issues. Pain has been relentless and intensely challenging.   I firmly believe that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living and healing will come - in His timing!  Contending for ASAP!!   Thank you for all of you who do pray for me and are believing for my healing too! Please continue to pray!!!
We are slowly (as time, energy and physical body allows) purging additional things, preparing for another garage sale, repacking and packing for our upcoming move.  We don't have an official date yet, but we are aiming for sometime in the near future.  This is also an area we could use prayers for:  prayer for God to give us clarity on what we will need or won't there.  I'd like to GIVE EVERYTHING AWAY and take very very little with us.  pray for a place to land.  We have reached out to quite a few contacts putting out feelers.  Renting through normal channels is not possible w/o God's help - because we have no income source.  Rent is 3 x higher and job sources are limited to none - like what we face here -except there is even more limited due to seasonal only work.   Buying of course is our GOAL and our prayer request - because we don't want to move just to move and we don't want to move just to be in the same position we are here.  We are moving because we feel God has told us to step out in faith....and is going to launch us into our purpose, call and destiny.  We are asking for prayer for OPEN DOORS and PROVISION to buy a property (we have a couple on our radar) and be able to start building the retreat and equipping center.  Also along the lines of moving, we need prayer for provision and clarity on HOW to move the things we do take.  We originally were going to use UPack/Pods = they drop a trailer, we load and then they pick up and take to our location or store if needed. They no longer come to our area.  UHaul has a similar program but the cost is twice as much... and a moving truck is not something I want to do cross country.  ???
Ken and I have been mentoring and discipling a man in the prison system.  It has been a rewarding 6 months so far.  We go see him monthly.... and he calls us almost daily and emails us too.   There has been much transformation.. and he is gaining favor in the prison system - moved to an "honor dorm", asked to do a coloring book for Ronald Mcdonald house, and has had his poetry published and distributed throughout the nation's prisons.   We have been keeping an eye on his home, along with his parents here and unfortunately it just got burglarized and much was stolen & damaged.  The good news is that one of the few involved was caught in the shed - and fortunately by the police and not us - the guy had a loaded gun.  We were there when he was taken out of the shed.  Unfortunately there is no insurance on this property, so we have been helping secure the property.  This has really caused anxiety in the man we are mentoring - beings that he cannot do anything but trust God and others to help on his behalf.  His elderly parents whom we minister too as well, have been deeply affected.... lots of angst there too - feeling violated.
Thank YOU again for your love, prayer and support!!!  Thank you for believing in us and walking with us on our journey!!   Love ya's!
Vision
God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.
The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord.
We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating people into the world & health and wellness retreats and more.
The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but better help them be ready to serve in their church.
In our community building - we will eventually have a 24/7 prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.
Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more souls into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!  We also have a passion to give generously to help those in need and to help others launch into their God given destinies.
Vision being released!
In this blog:
Vision being released!
Upcoming Events
Many of you have been walking with us for a long time.  You’ve heard our stories about what we feel God has been preparing us for and you’ve seen the ups and downs, trials and the unknowns we have experienced.   Just like us, you are praying and believing for the next steps in our journey!
I want to go back and highlight some key points of what we feel the Lord has shown us, a timeline of sorts and then update you on what we feel God is revealing now.
Over the course of our 29 years of marriage, Ken and I have been blessed with the gift of hospitality.  We have provided housing to many people for various reasons, we have hosted numerous bible studies, Christian events, itinerant ministers and house church.  We estimated over 5000 people had been in our last home of 10 years.
We heard the Lord speak to us about being a house of refuge.  Our sense was that we would provide housing to people who needed a place during hard times (catastrophic events).    He taught us much on Emergency Preparedness in a very short time.
Many prophetic words were given to us over the years confirming our gift of hospitality, a house of refuge, house church.  Some even shared we should own a bed and breakfast.
And then…….. God moved us away from everything and everyone we knew, this past February.  All that we thought we were made for, we released back to the Lord.  We surrendered the promises He spoke to us.  This wasn’t easy.  It was hard to reconcile all that He had spoken over us seemingly being stripped away…..but we let it go and came to El Dorado Springs, MO with no direction, just simple obedience!
When we were moving here to El Dorado Springs, the Lord was telling us to look on the East side of town, and kept hearing off Airport Road.  Just 2 days before our moving truck was coming, we found a home to rent, 1 house away from Airport Road and you guessed it, on the East side of the city.   We signed a 6 month lease which is up July 30th.    The owners are anxious to sell the house!   If you remember, there is NOTHING to rent that is large enough or doable.
Before we found the home to rent, we felt led to look for homes to purchase all the way back to November when we first learned of moving here,.  We have looked at close to 60 houses.  We kept “feeling” led to look at homes that would house people, though we had let go of that prior to coming.   Unfortunately, none of the properties we looked at appealed to us.  We liked the land, not the house.  We liked the house, not the land.  Or just didn’t like the windy, curvy roads and many I was uncomfortable being in the country completely isolated.  I’m still a city girl.  I even prayed that God would remove that concern if it was His will.
The Lord had been clear, that we would have unity and complete peace when we found the house He had for us.
One day our realtor called us and said I have a house for you to look at.  It’s not for sale but the owners said he could show us the property anyways.   The morning we were scheduled to look at this home, the Lord said, “I want you to look at this house through a different lens.  I want you to look at with eyes for a “retreat center, an event center and a bed and breakfast”.   Refuge is still part of My plans for you, but I have much for you to do prior to”.    As we drove onto the property, Ken and I both felt a peace, unity and a sense of it being the “one”.   The house is on the west side of town, just outside city limits, no windy, curvy roads and close to things, yet hidden.   The next day after we looked at the property, we had asked the Lord for some kind of confirmation other than our spirits have never been more excited.   In our devotional time, a scripture jumped out at both of us.
If I live at the eastern horizon or settle at the western limits,
even there Your hand will lead me.  Psalm 139:9-10 Holman Bible
This verse is pretty cool.  We currently “live” on the eastern side of El Dorado Springs.  The new house is just outside city limits on the “western limits”.    Wow!!!
A quick glimpse of the property…..and what we feel the Lord is showing us what to do with it.
  • House is a 1 story with a full finished basement – 2 kitchens, 6 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and a space that  will accommodate up to 100 people for meetings.  (something He showed us last year).  The dining room where we would serve most of our guest meals has an incredible view out the back overlooking the larger pond!
  • 27 acres with 2 ponds.
  • 1 of the ponds is small on the front part of the property.   We see 4 small solar powered cabins being built on this front 3 acres with screened in porches facing the pond and a nice tree line.  We have and are doing research on this – have spoke to the Amish community as well as others.  It’s amazing how much is right here at our fingertips!
  • The other pond is a beautiful 1 acre fully stocked and has a nice new dock, with electricity.  It even is large enough for paddle boats or a small fishing boat.
  • The property has about 10 acres of solid timber – which we would plan to create walking trails through as well as build 2 more cabins in the woods but with a view of the pond.
  • We plan to build a nice gazebo so we can host weddings & community events.
  • There is ample room to do gardening, even greenhouses.
What we hope to do with this house and property:
  1.     .    Host bible studies, discipleship groups.  There is much need here for that.
  2.          Host marriage retreats – the Lord has connected us to a couple here that offer marriage counseling retreats but often don’t have a place to host them.
  3.       .  Events – bring in itinerant ministers, prophetic, healing and other great teachers like we have done for the past 7 years.  Just a new location.
  4.         Employ people.  We see this has a place to offer work to those in our community.  We will need housekeepers, maintenance work, groundskeeper, gardener and more.
    There is another B&B, retreat center nearby.  The lady who owns/runs that one has been a godsend to us and has offered us so much information and tips.  She’s even told us how we could be completely booked year round!  God is good!
Years ago I read a book titled The Upside of Adversity by Os Hillman.  In a nutshell, the book was about the Lord giving you a vision, taking you through a long, hard, painful process, testing you on loyalty, faithfulness, integrity and the ability to handle success if given to you.   The book focused on Joseph’s life from the Bible.  At the end of the book, it showed you how the Lord will take the vision completely from you and replace it with something else or He will give the vision back to you as you are now ready for it.   Are we ready? Could this be what God is saying to us???
Ken and I have prayed for years the prayer of Jabez .
Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that You would bless me and extend my border,
 let Your hand be with me, and keep me from harm, so that I will not cause any pain.”
And God granted His request.  1 Chron 4:10
Could God be granting us our request?  We only see and hear in part so we are still in prayer, seeking God for His guidance and direction.
Does this sound amazing?  Does this sound like who God made us to be?
If you want to help, you can by your faithful continued PRAYERS!!!  This is a God size vision needing God size provision.
 Joni Ames often says with the vision comes provision.  Mark Hendrickson says where God guides, He provides.  We have seen His faithfulness for years and believe that He has it all worked out.   Will you stand with us in prayer and in faith? Will you pray for God’s mighty hand to move so that we can walk into the fulfillment of our purpose, call and destiny.   There is so much more I could tell you but this blog is getting long....so if you would like more information, please feel free to contact us!! Thank YOU for your ongoing love and friendship!
How can we pray for you?  Please let us know!
