It's Still Raining - To God be the Glory!

It's still raining!   When it rains for days on out and the skies remain gray, you often wonder if the sun will ever shine again.  I remember that in Kansas City when storms rolled through.  Sometimes they moved on fast, but other times they remained for what seemed eternity.   Those times were often met with discouragement,  hope deferred & leaving us wondering where God is.   God's Word promises us that He will never leave us or forsake us. That He goes before us.  I am extra thankful that we are not alone.   This is a promise I cling too often.

What do we do when it keeps raining?  Imagine being out to sea and a huge storm rolls in.  The thunder is cracking above you, the lightning strikes hit the water all around you and your boat capsizes.  You're being tossed about by the ever swelling waves.  You trying swimming but it only wears you out to the point of utter exhaustion.  You don't feel you can go on.  You are thinking it would be just easier to drown and be done with it.  Have you ever felt that way?  Are you going through a storm?

Two nights this week I had dreams.  The first dream I remember seeing a metallic sign on wood posts at the edge of a property saying  "To God be the Glory" and in the other dream I was speaking the words "To God be the Glory.   I had a general idea of what that means - but looking further it was about giving God praise and glory for things He has done, things He is doing and things He will do.  I've been doing that.  I've been trying to stay in a posture of Thanksgiving and Praise - even when I don't feel it.  It really does help you get the focus off self and onto Him.   And yet, the storms, the raging waves continue to pound and that can cause you to lose focus.    We need to keep our eyes, hearts and posture focused on God.  There are so many things going on in the world that are trying to distract us from the Lord.

In my quiet time today,  the Lord asked me to read in 2 Kings 2.  This is the story about Elijah and Elisha.  Elisha asked Elijah for a double portion when he was going to be taken away.  He wasn't asking for power, wealth or worldly advantages.  He was asking for the inheritance a first born son would receive in Deuteronomy 21:17.  He was asking for the ability to carry out and handle the calling on his life that the Lord had for him. He was asking for the anointing that would bless others and bless the Lord.  Because of his devotion and ability to remain strong through all the testing, God honored this request and he was blessed with the double portion.  He was also given the ministry of Elijah.  It is not often that one ministry will hand over their ministry to another.  With the right heart posture, with a life of persevering through testing and trials, God rewards those people.  That's what God wanted me to see and maybe you too!   He says when you persevere, when you keep your devotion on Me even through the storms of life, even know you are being tossed all over the place, I see you.  I am with you. I am for you.   He told me how proud He was of me for all of this..... though it's been a long difficult journey.

Also, this morning the Lord gave me this quote:   Don't let what you SEE stop you from BELIEVING what I have SAID!  I AM true to My WORD!  and then To God be the Glory, forever and ever. Amen!

He was reminding me that His promises are Yes and Amen. That nothing can thwart His plans for our lives.  That includes the healing He promised in 2002.  That means the provision for the vision.  That means destiny will be fulfilled.

The more I look around at this world.. what's going on, the food shortages, inflation and the threats looming of even greater issues, I see this year, God setting the stage, preparing the way for the calling He has for us.  That may sound odd.  As you know the Lord has called us to build a retreat center - a refuge - a ministry center that will reach the lost, the hurting the broken - bring them in, heal them up, disciple them and equip them to go out and do the same.  What seems impossible in the natural - especially financially - is POSSIBLE with the Lord.   What seems impossible with my health and chronic issues and one thing after another, is POSSIBLE with the Lord.  He has promised us to give us all that we need to do what He's asking of us!  To God be the Glory now and forever and ever.  Amen!

If you are going through a storm - maybe these songs will help you as they do me!!

Prayer requests:

Ken took on a side painting job to help make a dent in tax bill -  that will keep him busy for the next 4 weekends.  Painting is a pretty physical job and he is worn out each night.  Pray for him to have stamina to work 6 days....and that his day off is restful and rejuvenating.

Me - I've had some kind of stomach bug or food poisoning that has lasted 2 weeks now.  We ate some sushi (not raw) but it didn't taste good as if something was wrong with it so I'm wondering if that did this.  We both had issues - Ken just got over sooner.  (TMI)   Pray for sleep - it's hit or miss.  I'm thankful for the nights I get decent sleep.   I had 3 Facebook Marketing interviews this week - and a Tasting Party for Thrive Life - Please pray God would provide through these.

If you have a prayer need or a praise report you'd like to share, please email me.  I am so thankful for all the prayers and support you provide!  God is good!

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.  Ephesians 1:18

Now is the time....

Hugs, love and prayers.

Vision
God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.
The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord.
We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating people into the world & health and wellness retreats and more.

The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but better help them be ready to serve in their church.
In our community building - we will eventually have a 24/7 prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.

Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more souls into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!  We also have a passion to give generously to help those in need and to help others launch into their God given destinies.

Rejoice for the Suddenlies are Coming!

Rejoice with those who rejoice!
Romans 12:15b

You’ve been waiting on God for years to fulfill the vision He has for you.  You’ve believed.  You’ve fought hard in prayer and contending.   You’ve been in a wilderness for what seems forever.  The Lord keeps showing you that soon, your destiny will be at your doorstep.   And day after day passes by……..but SUDDENLY!

Last week, The Elijah List published a prophetic word the Lord had given to me.  My good friend and spiritual mother Joni Ames sent it in and I was so honored that they would consider publishing it.   There are amazing prophetic voices that write for them.  I sensed the Lord said for me to send the word to Joni and ask what she thought and if she would send it to Elijah List.  It was merely an act of obedience.  Joni said it was confirmation of what her and James Goll had been hearing and immediately sent it in with her recommendation and introduction to us. You can read the word here - http://www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word.html?ID=20762

Once the word was published by Elijah List on Tuesday 9/4, I was in awe.  I received upwards of 50 emails and they still keep coming in.   Some were saying how encouraging it was and that it gave them hope and faith to continue to stand.  Others were inviting us to their countries to speak and minister and others were wanting to connect and talk because they read my bio and then went to my blog and read more.  I know that God has been raising up similar visions across the world, but when you actually get a ton of emails from different people across the country that confirms it, it really boosts the hope button!  So often we lose hope and fall into discouragement wondering if we ever heard from God correctly.  This shows that we have.  Praise God!   God knows what we need when we need it, doesn’t He?

There is something huge that came from this as well, but not at liberty to say yet.  I can tell you this - that 5-7  friends and connections I have, I have introduced to someone who can potentially fund the dreams and visions the Lord gave them.  SUDDENLY God shows up on the scene for them.  Connections made and next steps towards destiny for these folks is happening!
I am so overflowing with JOY and TEARS for these connections.  Who would of thought that my article getting published by Elijah List would cause this incredible wave of blessings for so many.   God is so GOOD!  Obedience is key to the SUPERNATURAL WAYS OF GOD!

I’ll say it again - Rejoice with those who rejoice!  Romans 12:15b  I AM REJOICING!!!
Seriously, I am so happy for these people and know that God is at work behind the scenes for us as well.  He will not fail us!  His promises are Yes and Amen!

I hadn’t planned on writing about this today, but in my quiet time, I sensed a nudging saying please share this GOOD NEWS so others can see that I AM is at work!  I want to encourage you to keep believing God for what HE has promised YOU!  Even if it looks dark and hopeless, nothing is impossible for God!   He will show up at just the right time.

Jesus can do it ANYTIME!!  Here’s a passage that God can do it even if in the natural it looks like there is NO WAY!!!

John 11:38-44 NIV
Jesus Raises Lazarus From the Dead
Jesus, once more deeply moved, came to the tomb. It was a cave with a stone laid across the entrance.  “Take away the stone,” he said.
“But, Lord,” said Martha, the sister of the dead man, “by this time there is a bad odor, for he has been there four days.”
Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”
So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me.  I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”
When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!”  The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.

Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.

DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE FOR THE LORD IS FAITHFUL!

Prayer needs:
Ken - Pray for physical strength and sweet sleep.  He has a painting job and a cleaning job this week in addition to his other job.  We are thankful for the work but it's hard and quite physical.   We are in need of a sizeable amount of provision for upcoming bills due.  We are trying to sell things but not much success.  Please pray they sell quickly!!!
Michele - Sleep has improved but still not where I would like it.  When I sleep I have more mental energy to write my 3 books.  I need to work on them more!   Still much pain, but know that God is going to bring my healing!
Ministry - Our Thurs group is going well, and one and one discipleship is good.  We are still believing for the funding to move into destiny.

If you have been blessed by this ministry or feel led to support what God is doing through us - financially, below are a few options.  Your generosity and your prayer support is greatly appreciated and needed as we continue to walk in faith and God's calling.

You Are My Safe Refuge

O God, listen to my cry!
    Hear my prayer!
From the ends of the earth,
I cry to you for help
    when my heart is overwhelmed.
Lead me to the towering rock of safety,
for you are my safe refuge,
a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me.
Let me live forever in your sanctuary,
safe beneath the shelter of your wings!

Psalm 61:1-4 NLV

Are you feeling a bit frazzled?  Maybe I should say who hasn't been overwhelmed lately?

These past weeks have been a whirlwind of overwhelming circumstances.
- A sister got diagnosed with a brain aneurysm - awaiting results of brain angioplasty to determine next step....none of which are without great risk.  And the doctor said since two of my siblings have now had aneurysm's - all of the remaining siblings should be tested as their is a high probability of has having one.  (Not receiving this curse in my spirit)

- A brother had a heart attack and had a stent put in.  His "widow maker" artery was 99% blocked! By God's grace, he's alive!!  He's only 2 years older than me.

- Same brother's wife also had a heart attack and had stents put in and has to return for more stents in 30 days.

- A brother fell down some steps and broke his knee in half and the recovery/rehab will be long, painful and with chance of not a favorable outcome.

- Ken's father suddenly not well, went to ER and 5 day hospital stay with a serious blood infection (and still getting daily iv treatments) AND discovered a leaky heart valve awaiting doctor's visit for next step.
Ha ha!  (maybe I do look like this)

- Another sister - ongoing for 2.5 years rapid weight loss- still no diagnosis and is not able to eat much or drink more than 500 calories a day without painful side effects.

- A brother in law with cancer and treatments are winding down.

-I already told you this - but we have to move our stuff out of ladies basement and into storage and this weekend is the time.  It's not just moving it - we have to HEPA vacuum, wipe and spray with mold killer every box (and possibly it's contents) before we can load to store in storage unit.  The logistics surrounding all this has been intense.

-You've heard this before - but Canyon, our dog, is still in decline.  Somedays I think I'm being selfish and keeping him alive way beyond his days.... and other days I think God will surely tell me like he has in the past when is the best time.  This is heart wrenching!!!

-Did I tell you our landlord selling the house - the sale fell through so new potential buyers came out this past weekend to look at it?  Up in the air on living situation too???

-Sleep deprivation is NOT my friend in all this!!!

-Pain levels have been unbelievable.

-Finances - we are learning daily manna!   (we still eat, have shelter and clothes on our back)

-Hope deferred on our destiny - wondering when and sometimes if it's going to happen!

There have been times these past couple weeks that I thought I should just check myself in somewhere or pack a bag and leave for a deserted island.  Not a bad idea?

But God!  God is good!  He is faithful and He is our rock and our refuge!  How would we be effective at running a retreat/refuge if we hadn't had first hand experience in truly trusting God as our refuge, as our safe place!  None of this is for naught!  We realize that.  God has been taking us deeper and deeper into a relationship full of unwavering faith.

There are so many people who are experiencing even greater trials than we are.  I am overwhelmed, to be honest, at how many faithful followers who are being tested to the limits.  I have a sense of God showing up soon to those who have been forged by fire.  Suddenly things are going to shift and become the most glorious testimony of God's goodness!  Watch & See!

Look at the nations and watch- and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told. Habakkuk 1:5

I read Streams in the Desert Devotional - and have often shared them with you.  Here's today.....speaking to me as usual!  I pray it encourages you as well.  Just yesterday a friend said as she was praying for me, the Lord gave her a vision of us standing in the valley and their were dark clouds above us.  But then she saw the clouds were lifting and we could see clearly.

When the cloud tarried... then the children of Israel... journeyed not (Numbers 9:19).
This was the supreme test of obedience. It was comparatively easy to strike tents, when the fleecy folds of the cloud were slowly gathering from off the Tabernacle, and it floated majestically before the host. Change is always delightful; and there was excitement and interest in the route, the scenery, and the locality of the next halting-place. But, ah, the tarrying.
Then, however uninviting and sultry the location, however trying to flesh and blood, however irksome to the impatient disposition, however perilously exposed to danger -- there was no option but to remain encamped.
The Psalmist says, "I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry." And what He did for the Old Testament saints He will do for believers throughout all ages. Still God often keeps us waiting. Face to face with threatening foes, in the midst of alarms, encircled by perils, beneath the impending rock. May we not go? Is it not time to strike our tents? Have we not suffered to the point of utter collapse? May we not exchange the glare and heat for green pastures and still waters?
There is no answer. The cloud tarries, and we must remain, though sure of manna, rock-water, shelter, and defense. God never keeps us at post without assuring us of His presence, and sending us daily supplies.
Wait, young man, do not be in a hurry to make a change! Minister, remain at your post! Until the cloud clearly moves, you must tarry. Wait, then, thy Lord's good pleasure! He will be in plenty of time!
--Daily Devotional Commentary
An hour of waiting!
Yet there seems such need
To reach that spot sublime!
I long to reach them--but I long far more
To trust HIS time!
"Sit still, my daughter"--
Yet the heathen die,
They perish while I stay!
I long to reach them--but I long far more
To trust HIS way!
'Tis good to get,
'Tis good indeed to give!
Yet is it better still--
O'er breadth, thro' length, down length, up height,
To trust HIS will!
--F. M. N.
