How Do You Get the Wall Before You to Fall?

Joshua v 20 When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city. 21 They devoted the city to the Lord

Is there a mountain in your life you need moved? Is there a wall that needs to come down? A stronghold broken? Healing? Financial breakthrough?

This past Sunday, our pastor talked about Jericho Walls and the key to them coming down. It really struck me in several ways. I'll come back to that.

Ever since Ken and I got saved, the Lord has had us on a tremendous journey and increasing our faith through it. We sold our home in Kansas City in 2014 and moved to El Dorado Springs, MO because of His still small whisper and a water jug that a guest at our house brought with them. That was our confirmation. We did have several other "clues" that pointed us there. Some thought us foolish and it was definitely a stretching of faith. The time in Missouri gave us wisdom and knowledge about living off the grid, being in the country and learning about being self-sustaining. The night before moving day, our movers called and asked where they were taking our stuff, but we didn't know until after that call and let them know in the morning. There was grace for that. But not something I'd recommend.

There have been other times with moving that have been just as much a faith journey- see previous blog. And here we are again with the landlord selling the home and having to be out by 8/1. Just over 5 years ago, the Lord moved us from Missouri to Montana to fulfill the destiny He has for us. We are ready. He says we are ready. It's been a long long long journey of growing in Him. We've learned to be content with very little and we have learned greater humility and we have grown in faith more than I cared for (my fault - I prayed for world overcoming faith when I got saved).

We are less than 60 days out from needing to move. We have no idea where we are going (yet). God does....but unfortunately for us, He has not revealed it.

I have to say, we are weary. We are not wanting a last minute move and yet the days are ticking by. We want to KNOW where we are going and soon. We have faith and confidence that GOD will show up and HE will provide a place. We know His timing is perfect. But if you've ever had to wait until the last minute to move, you'll know how stressful that can be.

We are looking at rentals HOWEVER we are contending for the Lord to open the door to DESTINY. That means a sizable acreage property with a home on it and the funds to support the vision and all that it requires. It's a faith walk for sure.

We are praying for God to open ONLY the door HE has for us and shut all other doors. And the good news HE is shutting or keeping shut all doors for rental properties that possibly could work. Most are way out of our budget or too small or a huge amount of stairs. We do NOT feel we are to downsize everything. We've tried to sell furniture and other large items, but they are not selling. But anything little like a lamp, rug or a portable air conditioner etc is selling fast. So it seems like doors are staying closed for the bigger ticket items.

We have NO backup plan. We have no place we can just stay or store items and stay. We have no family we can stay with. We have GOD and God alone! That's enough!

Everything the Lord has been speaking and confirming through random prophetic words or in our quiet time is STAND and CONTEND for destiny! Contend for my healing! Contend for the breakthrough. And yet everything in the NATURAL is completely opposite!

So back to Jericho Walls! You see our walls. What is the key for us to have the breakthrough into DESTINY?

Here's what my pastor said - "The answer is UNITY!" Unity in prayers, unity in thoughts, words, actions and believing with us! It's true. What prayer would God answer, mine or yours when we are not praying in unity or agreement? The answer is unity for YOU as well.

Here's what I've seen. When you ask someone to pray for you - say for healing of a broken bone. And then they pray but tell you they prayed that the bone would just be comforted, not healed, how would you feel? Is that someone you want praying for you? If you asked someone to pray for your wayward child who is far from the Lord, would you be ok if they prayed for your child to just be happy doing whatever they are doing?? Seems ludicrous. Well, sadly that's often what I see. Maybe not these examples, but just the same, not praying in agreement or unity. It is hard enough to walk in faith. Believe me, we get enough flack from the enemy, why add fellow believers to that difficulty. Instead, let's come alongside someone in their time of need - believing and see what God can and will do in unity.

When someone asks us to pray for them, we come in agreement with what they are asking for (of course biblically based) and we also ask them what the Lord is speaking to them. If that seems sound, then why would we not want to pray in agreement?

Unity is key! Years ago, the Lord spoke those very words to Ken and I. When we are in unity, there is peace. When we pray in unity, answers come. When we are in disunity, God can't bless that. Do you hear what I'm saying? God wants to bless His children, but His children are not in UNITY!!

So.. what Jericho Wall do you have that needs to come down? What can we pray for you for in unity? Please reach out!

WE are asking for prayer in unity of what we feel the Lord is saying.
Open only the DOOR HE has for us and keep all others shut (and that He would reveal that soon). We contend for what we feel He's speaking and we trust Him for the outcome. If that door is another rental, we'll walk through it. But what IF it's the destiny property? What if God wants to do that NOW? Why would we want to settle for an Ishmael?

Matthew 9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

Hugs, love and prayers.

Vision

God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.

The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord.

We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating people into the world & health and wellness retreats and more.

The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but better help them be ready to serve in their church.

In our community building - we will eventually have a 24/7 prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.

Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more souls into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!  We also have a passion to give generously to help those in need and to help others launch into their God given destinies.

Going Deeper

Have your roots planted deep in Christ. Grow in Him. Get your strength from Him. Let Him make you strong in the faith as you have been taught. Your life should be full of thanks to Him. Colossians 2:7

Have you ever prayed for something and just the opposite occurs?   I think we all have at some point.

For the past few years, I've been crying out to God, take me deeper, restore the joy of my salvation, give me the childlike faith I used to have.  I want such a hunger and thirst for Him that I am never satisfied.

When I first got saved, I prayed for world overcoming faith.  I really think that was the Holy Spirit prompting me to pray that, because now that I've been walking with the Lord for 20+ years, I don't think I'd word it quite that way.  LOL!

I'm not writing this to gain sympathy.... I'm writing because one I feel like the Lord asked me to and two because I think my life parallels what the Church may be going through (just different circumstances).   Often, I "feel" an atmosphere and can pick up on what others are going through, or a spirit a city may be oppressed by.

I have been being hit with wave after wave of depression, a longing to go home/heaven.  I am discouraged.  I'm tired of not feeling well, living with chronic pain & suffering day in and day out.  I'm tired of not sleeping much.    I find myself thinking why would I want to continue living if this is what life is going to be.  I feel like what Solomon wrote in

Ecclesiastes 1:2 “Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher “Utterly meaningless!  Everything is meaningless.”

I believe the Church is being pressed beyond measure.  I believe we are experiencing trial after trial and crushing after crushing for a reason.  We are experiencing hardships and suffering because God wants us to go deeper.  I don't believe He's the author of these, but I do believe He uses them for our good and for the good of helping others.

Sunday, our pastor said the theme of this year is "Going Deeper".    I resonated with that, because I've been praying that for sometime.... I do believe God is calling His Church to a deeper more intimate relationship with Him.   We are coming upon a great storm, something that we need to know Him, trust Him and can depend on Him to see us through.   The only way we can do those things if we go deeper.  We have to be willing to go into the deep end without knowing the outcome.  We have to jump in even if we don't know how to swim.

Last May, the Lord told me he was taking away my Facebook income.  One by one all my accounts dropped off.  In July, we were told to move out of our rental which was affordable.  The only rental God opened the door for was one that was almost double what we paid.  We jumped in - trusting Him.....     We are now paying 3x what we were (mostly because our electric/gas bill).  Our income is not enough to pay this increase and we have had to pay most by credit card.   This is the first time since 1986 that we have had any credit card debt or debt at all (except our house in KC).   This is quite difficult because we are barely keeping our head above water.   Why am I telling you this?  Well, once again the Lord is showing us WE MUST TRUST HIM - and that He is our provider.  We must learn how to depend on Him for everything.   I have had a few animated discussions with Him because I had enjoyed going back to work (remotely) and making an income again.  It was such a nice 2 years of not having to wonder how we would pay a bill or how we would be able to eat?  God has always been faithful but if you've had to depend on him for everything, you know it's still a hard walk to walk.   Just a few days ago, the Lord said to me, this is an answer to your prayer.  You asked to go deeper.  You asked for faith that would sustain you?  You asked for world overcoming faith.  I am so ready to throw in the towel.... and yet somehow, His grace sustains me and I overcome.

It is so easy here in America to make our income our god; to make health insurance our god; to make anything that brings us comfort our god.   I believe the Lord is wanting His Church to release everything that will hinder us in going deeper with Him.

Are we willing to surrender our daily life to the Lord?  Are  we willing to be intentional day in and day out to seek the Lord for what HE has planned for our lives that day?  And will we be obedient?

Recently in our home group, we were talking about the passage in John 14:14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.   What it all boiled down to was as we abide with Him, as we seek His Kingdom first, then we will bear fruit.  Fruit not only the fruits of the spirit, though those are important, but fruit meaning we will know His will, hear His voice and act on what He asks of us.    I saw this graphic on Facebook and it resonated so deeply within that I wanted to share it here.  "Time is non-refundable.  Use it with  intention!"   There is so much that God wants to do in us and through us, but we have to be willing.   I'm sure some of us are doing some things that are good, but let's all ask God if that's what He wants us to be doing.

Here are a few questions I pray and ask when I wake up each morning.

1.  Lord, what is on your heart today?

2.  Lord, who do you want me praying for today?

3. Lord, is there anyone that you want me to do something special for?  Is there someone in need?

4. Lord, what do you want me to learn today in Your Word?  How can I apply that to my walk with You?

I pause between these questions and listen intently...journal what I hear and then act on it!  I don't mean this arrogantly but He wants people to be encouraged?  I must text sometimes upwards 10-40 people a day - something I sensed in my spirit.  I often get a response that what I sent was very timely and quite encouraging.   Sometimes we just have to be intentional on LISTENING!  Not always asking - oh and believe me, I ask and ask and ask.

Going deeper may unfortunately take a trial or an unwanted experience to get your eyes on Jesus.   Sometimes, a thorn in the flesh helps us to become more dependent on Him.  Sometimes going deeper may mean just rest - not sleep necessarily, but rest in Him.  Cease striving and KNOW that He is God.

Lord reveal to us Your heart - what do You have for us to do?  What is something we can do that will bring glory to YOU?   We want more of you Lord!! Take us deeper!!!

TESTIMONY -

On another note I wanted to share a pretty cool story.   I met this lady (we'll call her Deann just for giggles).   I met Deann about a year ago.  We've become fast friends and I have been lifting her in prayer because she lost her husband unexpectedly about a month after we met.  In mid-December we were out for coffee.  I had a sense that she was going to tell me she met a man.  She did.  She told me this really amazing story on how she met this guy, a relationship was not on her radar and yet he fell into her lap.  It was love at first sight - literally.  I asked her if she met him 30 days ago.  She said oh my gosh yes exactly!   Immediately the Lord took me into what I call a "movie reel vision" - I was seeing the next 30-45 days play out in my head.  I began to smirk and she said "What? No, don't tell me"   She knows I hear from God.  So I said ok, fine, I'll text myself so that I can share it with you another time.  I texted that there was a whirlwind of activity around these two and that she would have a ring on her finger before Valentine's Day.  I really sensed that she would be married by then, not just the ring.   Well, two weeks ago, we met for coffee again.   She was telling me how they were getting super close and I asked her if they had discussed "it" yet.  She knew what I was asking and said Yes.  That they hadn't used the "word" yet but they were talked about in a round about way.  The Lord told me to tell her we were ordained just in case.    Last week, she texted me to say "they" were on the way over to our house.  She was picking up some soup I made and he was giving me some homemade elderberry syrup.  But, I knew they were going to tell me they were engaged.   When they walked in - she said "We need your services".  Lol.  She asked us to officiate their wedding which is coming up the end of this month!   How fun is that!!   What I so enjoy about this story, is that God knew what the two of them needed even before they did.  They have so many things in common and have such a great friendship already!   I also love that God does things SUDDENLY!   So if you are praying for something or not - God still knows your need and He will do it!  That's encouraging!

Prayer & Praise Updates..

1.  Please pray for additional income.  Ken has missed almost 2 weeks of work as there is NO work.  His boss is really good to him and gave him whatever he could, but inside jobs this time of year are needed and unfortunately there isn't much work.  Other employees often don't work for months at a time.  Yikes!     I have just a little income coming in from Thrive....but not enough.  Pray for opportunity for that to grow!

2.  Please pray as it is finally on my calendar with the help of a good friend to write my books.  The Lord has been asking this of me and I just haven't had much mental stamina or motivation due to health.  I have a friend who is going to help me write and organize my thoughts and stories.  I'm excited.  Pray we get this launched in February and it goes well!

3.  Please pray for health - sleep & pain mostly.  I still deal with 24/7 chronic pain in back, knee, hip & feet.  I've also have many other symptoms I won't bore you with.    I am getting some sleep but it's not deep restful or long sleep.   It leaves me with little energy and limited focus.  Have you ever looked up sleep deprivation? Don't!  Chronic Pain wears me out!!    I'm hanging on by a thread..... trusting God that one day soon, I will see my healing!

4.  Our home group is growing and I am finding myself already praying for God to expand our space once again.  I prayed that prayer for a year in our last home before he moved us here.  We love love love the house we live in.  It truly is an answer to that prayer.  We are comfortable in it - just need the resources to make sure we can keep affording it.   There is nothing here any cheaper, however.    We do love our home group.  We are truly building some deep relationships and growing in the Lord together.

5.  We love our new church - we are attending the local Assemblies of God.  Our pastors are real, authentic & passionately in love with Jesus!

Please let me know how I can pray for you.  I am thankful for those who reach out with prayer requests.

Hugs, love and prayers.

What Should Our Response Be?

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Ephesians 6:18 NIV

Has there been a time in your life that you or someone you know needed consistent ongoing prayer?  Maybe a prolonged sickness?  A marital crisis or pending divorce?  A financial crisis?  A wayward child?  Perhaps someone in addiction? Maybe a family member in the military who is on the front lines?  Someone on the mission field?  Your pastor and his family?  My point is, everyone has need of prayer...and sometimes that need is for a very long time.

I want to ask you a question and I would value your honest answer and opinion as to why you answered the way you did.   When I ask the question, it may seem very obvious what the answer should be......but again, if you really look deep inside of yourself, see if your answer could be more than one or even all of them?

Here's the question:  If someone asks you for prayer, what should your response be?
A.  Tell them, they need only ask you once because the answer has already been given.
B.  Ignore them or avoid any response.
C.  Tell them they are too needy and to quit asking for prayer.
D.  Unfriend, unfollow, block or remove them from your life.
E.  Tell them you will pray for them and then don't.
F.   Pray for them (every time they ask)

Years ago in one of our bible study groups, a person who had been coming for over a year, finally decided to leave the group.  There was no explanation, just didn't come back.  I reached out to them and asked if they would share why they left, just so we could be sure things ended on good terms.  This person told me that they were tired of praying for the same people and same requests.  I was stunned. I was confused as to why a Christian would say that.   I didn't have any response to that  (at that time) except to bless them.

Not too long ago, a new friend had prayed for me.   After they prayed, they said, now you don't need to ask me again because it's done.  You just have to believe the finished work of the cross.  And that person has not prayed for me since (at least that I know of).

Just recently, I was told that I ask for prayer too much and I'm bugging people by asking.  Ouch!!

These comments led me down a dark ugly road.  Guilt, shame, condemnation, fear and more.  I started to isolate and beat myself up wondering if I was just a pain in the ??? (you fill in the blank) to you and to all those who I have asked for prayer from.   I felt like I was a burden and began to wonder what's the point?  I began to doubt God's love for me.  Oppression came over me like a ton of bricks.  I was hurt, grieved, depressed and feeling hopeless.  But God!!

I have to admit I am not thrilled about needing prayer as much as I have in this season.  My health has been a battle for a very long time as well as other circumstances I/we face.  I can't begin to understand why the healing hasn't come, when 1000's of people have prayed for me; when God promises healing in His Word; when I've done all I know how to do.  Asking for prayer has not come easy for me.  If you've known me for any length of time, you would know that I never would ask for prayer years ago.  I didn't feel worthy enough.   And yet in this past season, God has wanted me to be transparent in my need.  It's embarrassing, humiliating & humbling to say the least and it has opened the door to many blessings - but also to unimaginable attacks by fellow Christians.   Believe me when I say, if you're tired of praying for me (or someone else) imagine how tired they must be for still wanting prayer for their circumstances. Put yourself in their shoes and see if your opinion changes?

SO, this blog isn't about me, really... but using myself as an example.  The real question is what should our response be when someone you know or yourself finds need of ongoing prayer?  I refer back to the Scripture above - Ephesians 6:18 “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.”

Here's an excerpt from Rick Renner on praying...
The word “always” is taken from the Greek phrase en panti kairo. The word en would be better translated at. The word panti means each and every. You could say that this word panti is an all-encompassing word that embraces everything, including the smallest and most minute of details. The last word in this Greek phrase is the word kairo, the Greek word for times or seasons. When all three of these words are used together in one phrase (en panti kairo) as in Ephesians 6:18, they could be more accurately translated at each and every occasion.
Ephesians 6:18 conveys this idea: “Pray anytime there’s an opportunity — no matter where you are or what you’re doing. Use every occasion, every season, every possible moment to pray….”

I also want to highlight one other point in that Scripture... it says pray in the Spirit.  I have found myself praying more in the Spirit and asking for that when I ask for prayer.  Why? First -simply because I know then, we are praying God's will.  Second, have you ever asked for prayer for something specific and you find out the person who prays is actually praying "against" what you asked?  That is counterproductive!!!!  So, praying in the Spirit covers it all!!

Another response.....We are to respond in Love - Matthew 22:36-40  36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”    Loving You Lord helps us to love others well.  Praying for others shows your love for God and love for them!

Years ago, our pastor preached a sermon series on "How can I pray for you NOW?"  This
title is what grabbed me.  It says it all and put me on a mission to be INTENTIONAL about praying for ALL who ask or have need.  I seek the Lord daily - and He shows me WHO to pray for.  Often, I will reach out to them and let them know they are being prayed for.  Why?  Because I know being on the receiving end of needing prayer, it encourages, strengthens and gives hope. Sometimes knowing people are praying gives the ability to face one more day!   Prayer is vital to the Christian walk both on the giving and receiving end.  I sometimes will post on Facebook offering to pray for those who want it.  That is probably my most looked at post. I see this on others posts as well.  Do you know sometimes (often) when God lays it on your heart to pray for someone, you are or have the answer to their prayer.

There are so many people who desperately need a touch from the Lord.  They need our prayers.  I want to encourage you, challenge you and to remind me, to be INTENTIONAL and DELIBERATE and CONSISTENT in praying for those God puts on your heart - or in your path whether they ask for prayer or not.  Your prayers are POWERFUL and EFFECTIVE!

What IF - your prayers for them is the TIPPING POINT:
that brings their answer,
that brings the healing,
that brings the provision,
that keeps someone from giving up on God or life,
that brings deliverance to the addicted,
that brings a soul into the Kingdom,
that brings reconciliation in a marriage,
that protects a soldier from death or injury,
that helps the missionary stay committed to their calling,
that keeps a pastor from quitting or committing suicide.
that (you fill in the blank)

So, if you are in need of prayer, please email me at michele@wantinsight.com and I would be happy to pray for you!  There are quite a few of you who have responded in the past, and I am committed to praying for you until you see the answer you are desiring!!!  (Maybe that's why I don't sleep much at night - I'm up praying for you!  and it's an honor!! - seriously it blesses me that I can pray for YOU!)

Praise Reports/Prayer Requests:

Praise God - I finally decided to get a prescription sleep aid. I've not wanted to do that for fear of becoming dependent or addicted.  I was prescribed one that is NON -habit forming.  So Thankful!   I am not sleeping perfectly - but I have had 5 out of 10 good nights with it so far.  Yea God!! It's amazing what sleep can do.  16 years of serious sleep deprivation!

Praise God -God has been sustaining our SUV.  We still have a main seal oil leak, NO heat and other issues.  Too much $$ to put into an older car with high mileage.   We are believing God for the provision for a new one.  And it amazes me how God is sending people (out of the blue) to pray for us - and stand with us for a new vehicle.  One person came to us and said that God told them to pray for us for a new SUV..  not knowing that we have been for 3 years.  They went on to ask if it was a "burgundy suv"  Yes, we have been praying for a 2019/2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited and we liked the burgundy color.  Lol....  then they said one day they were praying for us in the Spirit and a burgundy suv pulled in front of them with the license plate "GIVE" on it!!  That's a pretty good confirmation in my opinion!!

Praise God - God has been sustaining my health despite the ongoing issues. Pain has been relentless and intensely challenging.   I firmly believe that I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living and healing will come - in His timing!  Contending for ASAP!!   Thank you for all of you who do pray for me and are believing for my healing too! Please continue to pray!!!

We are slowly (as time, energy and physical body allows) purging additional things, preparing for another garage sale, repacking and packing for our upcoming move.  We don't have an official date yet, but we are aiming for sometime in the near future.  This is also an area we could use prayers for:  prayer for God to give us clarity on what we will need or won't there.  I'd like to GIVE EVERYTHING AWAY and take very very little with us.  pray for a place to land.  We have reached out to quite a few contacts putting out feelers.  Renting through normal channels is not possible w/o God's help - because we have no income source.  Rent is 3 x higher and job sources are limited to none - like what we face here -except there is even more limited due to seasonal only work.   Buying of course is our GOAL and our prayer request - because we don't want to move just to move and we don't want to move just to be in the same position we are here.  We are moving because we feel God has told us to step out in faith....and is going to launch us into our purpose, call and destiny.  We are asking for prayer for OPEN DOORS and PROVISION to buy a property (we have a couple on our radar) and be able to start building the retreat and equipping center.  Also along the lines of moving, we need prayer for provision and clarity on HOW to move the things we do take.  We originally were going to use UPack/Pods = they drop a trailer, we load and then they pick up and take to our location or store if needed. They no longer come to our area.  UHaul has a similar program but the cost is twice as much... and a moving truck is not something I want to do cross country.  ???

Ken and I have been mentoring and discipling a man in the prison system.  It has been a rewarding 6 months so far.  We go see him monthly.... and he calls us almost daily and emails us too.   There has been much transformation.. and he is gaining favor in the prison system - moved to an "honor dorm", asked to do a coloring book for Ronald Mcdonald house, and has had his poetry published and distributed throughout the nation's prisons.   We have been keeping an eye on his home, along with his parents here and unfortunately it just got burglarized and much was stolen & damaged.  The good news is that one of the few involved was caught in the shed - and fortunately by the police and not us - the guy had a loaded gun.  We were there when he was taken out of the shed.  Unfortunately there is no insurance on this property, so we have been helping secure the property.  This has really caused anxiety in the man we are mentoring - beings that he cannot do anything but trust God and others to help on his behalf.  His elderly parents whom we minister too as well, have been deeply affected.... lots of angst there too - feeling violated.

Thank YOU again for your love, prayer and support!!!  Thank you for believing in us and walking with us on our journey!!   Love ya's!

Come Full Circle - 4 Things God Does for You

In this blog:

Come Full Circle
Vision
Testimonies
Prayer & Praise

The LORD had said to Abram, "Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you. Genesis 12:1

Has God asked you to do something that didn't make sense?  Move to an unknown land?  Give a large chunk of cash?

In February 2014, most of you know, the Lord moved us from Overland Park, KS to El Dorado Springs, MO.  We had no knowledge of why God was moving here at that time.  All He told us was to build relationships and invest in people.   We left everyone & everything we knew!   When we arrived here, we felt led to drive a stake in the ground at the sign that says "Welcome to El Dorado Springs".  We thanked God for the new land He was giving us.  That's when all heck broke loose.  I will spare you the details, but just know we experienced many "giants" in the new land.

Numbers 13:27-30 “We entered the land you sent us to explore, and it is indeed a bountiful country—a land flowing with milk and honey. Here is the kind of fruit it produces.  But the people living there are powerful, and their towns are large and fortified. We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak!  The Amalekites live in the Negev, and the Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites live in the hill country. The Canaanites live along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea[a] and along the Jordan Valley.”
But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses. “Let’s go at once to take the land,” he said. “We can certainly conquer it!”
We have learned how to use our weapons of warfare here.  The battle has been fierce.  I remember when we first got saved, our pastor taught on Ephesians 6.  He was so descriptive and my overactive imagination said I was sitting in the middle of a war zone and a science fiction movie.  It was very scary.  I remember asking him after service, "who are all those people who have to fight like that".  The joke was on me!  After all these years, I definitely understand to a greater degree the importance of wearing all our spiritual armor every day!

For the past two plus years - we have been intentional in meeting people and getting to know many.  Just to give you an idea - our town is 3500.  We do have a couple surrounding towns that we have met folks from.  If I had to put a number on it, we've probably met at least 800 people and fed at least 120-130 of them (some multiple times).   We love to cook and hospitality is one of our gifts.  And there are just no real good places to eat within a 100 mile radius.  If God ever moves us again, I'm going to ask Him for good places to eat.  :)

With all that to say, we really have come full circle since we arrived here.  Some key things we believe have happened that we think are keys to open doors.

- Without going into too much explanation, God restored a relationship this past weekend that we had when we first moved here.  Praise God!!  Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
- We got a prophetic word that God that confirmed some re-alignments/alignments.  And also that they saw a full circle around our potential "retreat property".
- Prophetic word that hit home from someone on Facebook - Kingdom authority breaks the seal of deception and breaks through:  Time to re-establish and refresh the stakes int he ground from proclamations made from past efforts. What had been in gridlock will open like a flood.   -  We've been praying for the entire 2+ years, using our Kingdom authority here that God would breakthrough and remove the demonic hindering spirits over this town and region.  We are seeing fruit from that!!!!!

We have been sensing a shift for about 3 months now.  There are many things in the natural that seem to be pointing something is going to change soon as well.  Come on Lord!!  We are as ready as we can be.  I've been letting God know that we've done our part..... so........

Back to my original question - has God ever asked you to do something that just didn't make sense?
It has been our experience that just about everything God asks of us doesn't initially make sense.  But, what I do know is this.... 4 things God does when He asks something of us:

  • Whatever He asks of you, He has prepared you for.  He will help you defeat the giants.
  • Wherever He leads you, He will meet your need.  (though this isn't always easy to walk out)
  • Obedience needs to be immediate and always brings blessings.
  • He is always about redemption, love & restoration.

If God is asking something of you, don't question it. Trust Him. Be obedient!  Act immediately!  It may not make sense to you.  It may not make sense to friends and family!  It may be difficult and hard, but God will be with you and He will help you!  God is faithful!  God is good!!! And He does have good things for us!

Testimonies:
Two weeks ago we had Joni Ames in town to minister to several churches. There was a couple we invited to our night of hosting her. We had been sharing about the prophetic with them since we met them and they had just not experienced it or been taught about it. I found out recently that they almost didn't come to the meeting. The husband a bit threatened by the fact that this was something new to him though a long time mature believer & in leadership of a church. Anyways they came & when they got prophetic ministry, the Lord confirmed it in his spirit thru the three of us. He said he wanted what we had!

Last Friday night we had company over and each time we see these folks we end in prayer for each other. The wife asked for prayer for sciatica/back pain that's been bugging her quite a bit. I sensed the Lord wanted me to lay hands on her. We prayed & asked Jehovah Rapha to come....and the next morning she called me to tell me she was completely healed! She waited to tell me because she wanted to do some things that would normally hurt to be sure she was healed... and God showed up & blessed her childlike faith.

Vision
God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.
The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer 30-50 private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, screened in porches and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord.
We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating, health and wellness retreats and more.
The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but more help them be ready to serve in their church.
In our community building - we will have a 24/7 (eventually)  prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.
Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!

Update/Prayer Requests
We've been praying, contending and believing for the provision for this vision and yet discouragement sometimes hits us like a ton of bricks.  We know God's timing is perfect, we just wish He would maybe let us in on some those details.
Please pray for us as we have so much to learn about 501c3, holding our first board meeting soon and all that needs to be accomplished in that.  We feel completely inadequate!
Please continue to pray that God will bring the provision for the vision.....
Please pray for daily provision.  We are at 25% of our needed income with no opportunities to earn enough around here.  I am finding that the social media gig is not my thing.  Darn!!!
Please pray for Ken - he is still part time at Dollar General - it's hard physical work and he is quite exhausted with little energy leftover.  Please pray for his health stamina!
Please pray for my health. With just a little bit of "work" I had helping out the local school here do some research, I found my mental & physical stamina is still limited.  I'm thankful I was able to do what I did but realizing it drains my adrenals quickly and a long time to bounce back.

PRAISE REPORT - I am still sleeping most nights !!!  I am getting almost 8 hours a night.  There are some nights I don't mostly because the dogs wake us up with storms.  PRAISE GOD - the headaches i had for 30+ years are almost gone!  I don't typically have any headaches unless I don't drink enough water.  And when I do, I drink water & take honey ginger.  NO more excedrin!!  That's huge because it was definitely affecting my liver and kidney's.

I'm a consultant with Thrive Life Foods - 25 year food storage.  I am thinking this may be a good way for me to earn extra income - by doing online shows.  I have my first one out of Virginia this weekend.   If you are interested in more information, please contact me or visit my website at https://www.michelecole.thrivelife.com.   God open doors if this is from You!

Bless YOU.  Thank you for caring for us, praying for us and standing with us!  If there is anything you need prayer for, please let us know.  We are happy to!!!

If you have been blessed by this ministry or feel led to support what God is doing through us - financially, below are a few options.  Your generosity and your prayer support is greatly appreciated and needed as we continue to walk in faith and God's calling.

God Bless YOU -
