God's Promise to Heal our Land

 

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land”

This verse is popular right now.  If you are on social media at all, this is what pops up on everyone's post.  

The other quote I see shared often is:  "People are waiting on God to heal the land when in reality God is waiting on the people to repent and turn from their wicked ways."  

This latter quote is reality.   As I have been praying for our country, I have been asking God to reveal and convict His people of anything wicked in us that is hindering Him healing our land.  This is key. 

Do we want another 4 years of our country going into socialism/marxism and everything evil?   I'm not saying that the other one running is going to save us either.  Only Jesus can save us.  Only Jesus can have mercy on us.   But voting for the most biblical candidate is our only choice.  We can't vote for abortions and show up to Church on Sunday and act as if we are true disciples of Christ.  I'm sorry.  That's truth!  We can't vote for an evil agenda that goes against so many biblical standards and say we love Jesus.   

Today I was reading in Ezekiel 7 from the Warehouse Blog-  It seems pretty close to where America is heading (or there).  Kind of sobering.... but I believe is a good hard TRUTH on what we may need to do for God to heal our land.  

The Day of the Wrath of the Lord

7 The word of the LORD came to me: “And you, O son of man, thus says the Lord GOD to the land of Israel: An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land. Now the end is upon you, and I will send my anger upon you; I will judge you according to your ways, and I will punish you for all your abominations. And my eye will not spare you, nor will I have pity, but I will punish you for your ways, while your abominations are in your midst. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

“Thus says the Lord GOD: Disaster after disaster! Behold, it comes. An end has come; the end has come; it has awakened against you. Behold, it comes. Your doom has come to you, O inhabitant of the land. The time has come; the day is near, a day of tumult, and not of joyful shouting on the mountains. Now I will soon pour out my wrath upon you, and spend my anger against you, and judge you according to your ways, and I will punish you for all your abominations. And my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity. I will punish you according to your ways, while your abominations are in your midst. Then you will know that I am the LORD, who strikes.

“Behold, the day! Behold, it comes! Your doom has come; the rod has blossomed; pride has budded. Violence has grown up into a rod of wickedness. None of them shall remain, nor their abundance, nor their wealth; neither shall there be preeminence among them. The time has come; the day has arrived. Let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn, for wrath is upon all their multitude. For the seller shall not return to what he has sold, while they live. For the vision concerns all their multitude; it shall not turn back; and because of his iniquity, none can maintain his life.

“They have blown the trumpet and made everything ready, but none goes to battle, for my wrath is upon all their multitude. The sword is without; pestilence and famine are within. He who is in the field dies by the sword, and him who is in the city famine and pestilence devour. And if any survivors escape, they will be on the mountains, like doves of the valleys, all of them moaning, each one over his iniquity. All hands are feeble, and all knees turn to water. They put on sackcloth, and horror covers them. Shame is on all faces, and baldness on all their heads. They cast their silver into the streets, and their gold is like an unclean thing. Their silver and gold are not able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD. They cannot satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs with it. For it was the stumbling block of their iniquity. His beautiful ornament they used for pride, and they made their abominable images and their detestable things of it. Therefore I make it an unclean thing to them. And I will give it into the hands of foreigners for prey, and to the wicked of the earth for spoil, and they shall profane it. I will turn my face from them, and they shall profane my treasured place. Robbers shall enter and profane it.

“Forge a chain! For the land is full of bloody crimes and the city is full of violence. I will bring the worst of the nations to take possession of their houses. I will put an end to the pride of the strong, and their holy places shall be profaned. When anguish comes, they will seek peace, but there shall be none. Disaster comes upon disaster; rumor follows rumor. They seek a vision from the prophet, while the law perishes from the priest and counsel from the elders. The king mourns, the prince is wrapped in despair, and the hands of the people of the land are paralyzed by terror. According to their way I will do to them, and according to their judgments I will judge them, and they shall know that I am the LORD.”

Ezekiel 7 Commentary

The Babylonians invaded Judah twice but the people could not comprehend the severity of the destruction. It’s like they could not connect the dots. They couldn’t see the connection between their sin and the oncoming judgment by their enemies. This is where Ezekiel comes in.

For about 20 years, Ezekiel consistently spelled out the cost of sin and the coming wrath of God. It was not pretty. By and large, the people remained stubborn and willful in their sinning. It’s hard to believe. As I thought about this section this morning, the statement of “You will know that I am God” resonated from previous chapters.

The God of grace and truth delivers both. However, at the final judgment, we will either know His wrath or His grace. Both of these characteristics of God will reveal that He is indeed Lord over all. It is ultimately a question of wills. Do we willfully continue in our disobedience or do we accept grace as a means to repent and change?

Some may argue that we are all sinners regardless of if we believe or not. Sinning is always a willful choice. Though it is true, as Christians, there is quite a large difference between consistent, calloused disobedience and struggling through conviction and repentance. We are either moving towards grace or we are moving towards wrath. Just like the people of Judah, we all will know that He is Lord. The question is, will we know grace through Jesus or will He turn to us and say, “I never knew you?”

God promises to heal our land BUT there's a catch - we must turn from our WICKED WAYS.  We must humbly seek Him and repent for anything that is in our lives that is not in alignment with God's Truth.   This country deserves judgement...and I believe we are seeing some of that.  

 Here are some things God hates?  Any of these in our lives?  

• Pride: Pride is the original sin, and God hates it. The Bible says, "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall" (Proverbs 16:18). 
• Lying: God judges all words, and hates lying. 
• Innocent blood: God loves and wants people to protect the innocent. 
• Wicked schemes: God knows what people think and sees the plans and purposes that are conceived in the souls of all people. 
• Idols: God hates idols because they make false statements about him and damage people.  
• Unfaithfulness: God hates unfaithfulness, rebellion, and false worship. 
• Arrogance: God hates arrogance and corrupt speech. 
• Wickedness: God hates wickedness and wrongdoing

This verse also points out some things God doesn't like:  1 Corinthians 6:9-10

The unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God. This includes those who are sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners

Here's a great prayer we can pray to begin this process - don't delay - do it now!  Pause now and pray this prayer and wait on the Lord to reveal anything?   

Psalm 139:23-24 

Search me, God, and know my heart;
    test me and know my anxious thoughts.
2 See if there is any offensive way in me,
    and lead me in the way everlasting.

Prayer & Praise Reports

1. Ken's teeth are healing up from his trip to Mexico. He had a root canal, tooth extraction and bone graft. Once completely healed, he will need to have 4 crowns still.  We are trying to find a dentist here that will allow us to use a lab in KC.  One of Ken's former co-workers has offered to do his crowns for free.  That would save us $1000's.  

2.  We are still looking for a needle in a haystack when it comes to a part for our car.  The car is drivable but we been cautioned by every mechanic not to drive it as safety issue.   So it sits.  However, the Lord blessed us with a new used van 215000 miles on it... but was gifted to us.  We are so thankful.  I never imagined driving a van and it's definitely a learning curve.  I love the interior space it has.  So more room for Trader Joe road trips.  LOL!!! 

3.  About a month ago, the Lord revealed to me I was living in co-dependency.   It's a term I had heard but knew little about.   I jumped in with both feet and realized from so much trauma in my childhood and life, I was in idolatry.  Ouch!  That's one of those things God hates (listed above).   I have  repented and have seen some incredible healing in this area.  Praise God! 

4.  Please continue to pray for my health.  Pain levels are extreme.  So weary!  But know that one day God will heal me.  

5.  Please pray for some open door for me to be able to find work.  With my health, it's so limited.  I've searched high and low for online work but doors don't open.   I would love to increase my Thrive Life business and doing all I can there..   For us to survive w/o debt, I really need to be able to make enough to pay our rent.  Ken's income covers the rest.

How Do You Respond to Pride In Others?

Pride really isn't the most popular thing to talk about!  There's a reason I am writing this blog today.....and it may surprise you.  

Pride - 

From Oxford Dictionary  -

"A feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired."

From the Bible 

“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16:18). 

I'm pretty sure each one of us have experienced pride in our own life.   And I'm confident we know one or two people who are prideful, arrogant and even pompous.  God frowns on pride and there is much to say in His Word about being prideful.  Actually He uses the word hate!!

Proverbs 8:13 “To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behaviour and perverse speech.” 

Proverbs 16:5 “The LORD detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.

This morning in my quiet time, I was venting to the Lord about someone.   This person has been getting under my skin every time I see them.   I was telling God how arrogant they were, how disrespectful, how prideful they are, it seems like every time they open their mouth!   I asked the Lord to reveal His heart for this person.  I asked Him to change my heart towards them.   Do you know what He told me?   He told me to pray for them.  He asked me to pray specifically that they would come into a place of humility.    That may sound like a good prayer, but to me that's a dangerous prayer.  I'll get back to that in a moment.  

Over the years, I have met and known many prideful people.   If you've read previous blogs, then you know that my brain works like a connect the dot board.  I pick up on patterns.   I pick up on clues both in the natural and in the spiritual realm.   I'm a feeler.  I often feel what is going on in someone's heart.  I can pick up on atmospheres.   There are many reasons people become prideful, but the most common one I have seen is they have been hurt.   You've heard it said that hurt people, hurt people.   

Pride is a "mask" people put on to deflect hurt and pain that may come their way.   If it's arrogant pride, the mask is to help them feel important.  Maybe growing up they were told lies that said they weren't.   False humility is also pride and this is one that I have struggled with.  I have deflected compliments and felt not worthy to receive them.  God used a book to point this out in my life.  The Lord also showed me one time in our home group.  I was placed in the center to get prayer.   Every wonderful prayer and prophetic word, I literally saw bounce off of me. They would not penetrate my heart.   I had a protective bubble around me.   I had no idea.  But it all stemmed from being told I was worthless and that everything bad that happened to me, I deserved it.  It's been a long journey and one I'm still one trying to overcome those lies.  I am finally learning to receive.  

So back to the prayer God has asked of me.  There are so many lost and hurting souls in the world.  There are many that their "ministries" are imploding.   Everywhere you turn, someone is being exposed and called out on their sin.   I have mixed emotions about that.   I am thankful that they are being exposed as to stop the continued pain they perpetrate on others.  On the other hand, I wouldn't want to be the one that gets exposed. I wouldn't want to cause hurt to others.  Would you?   Praying for someone's pride may be a dangerous prayer because it may cause someone's downfall.  And God may expose you in the midst of it.  

However, we can and must pray for these folks.  We could start with our own sphere of influence.  Surely, there is one or two people you can begin to pray for consistently.  Ask God to heal them of their hurts because that is where sin comes in.  Sin is a mask to cover up some kind of pain!   Ask the Lord to show you who to pray for and how to pray specifically.   Start with yourself.   We all have pride in one way or another.  God hates it and so should we! 

Pray for the ministries you see in the news or on social media that are crumbling because of sin issues.  Pray for the leaders to have a broken and contrite spirit.   Ask God to intervene.  He's a God of mercy and compassion but He is also a God of justice!  

God rescues the afflicted by their affliction; He instructs them by their torment. Job 36:15 HCSB 

This verse I read today in my quiet time.  Often God will use hardships to get our attention.  He doesn't cause them.  He allows them.  Sometimes the hardships are for our own good.  To get us in line with His Truth.  Other times they are used to grow our faith and draw us near to Him.   Will we allow these hardships to make us better or will we choose to be bitter.  It's our choice!

Prayer Requests/Praise Reports

Ken & I will be traveling to Kansas City, unexpectedly due to Ken's father's health.  He has been diagnosed cancer and it has already spread.  It's very aggressive and fast growing.  We are thankful for the Lord providing through some family air fare and accommodations.  There are other expenses that we are trusting Him for.   Please pray for Clyde and Donna, his parents - for peace that passes all understanding!   Please pray for our travel days as well.  Both coming and going will be long days up at 4 and not home or to hotel until after 10pm. 

 I have entered a competition for https://favchef.com/2024/michele-cole - If you're on Facebook please vote daily.  I am in 2nd in my group (lots of groups) and the competition ends in July.  If I were to win, I would receive $25,000 which I could use towards publishing the books I'm writing or a newer more reliable SUV. ??  But there are other perks to winning as well.   I'm thankful that I have fed 1000's of people over the years and they liked my cooking because that has helped this competition greatly!  However, I am competing against professional chefs and others.  It's all popular vote right now.   I'm humbled by the favor God is giving me..... and it's definitely a stretch for me.   The Lord's will be done!

Please pray for Ken's health - teeth and other things going on....  He is the healthy one, so this is hard on him.  

Please pray for me - pain, new pain, sleep.   My doctor has put me on a new medication that is supposed to help with pain but not narcotic or habit forming.....it also has other benefits for thyroid, sleep and more.   I am having some of the "rare" side effects so dosing has remained low for now.  Pray that if this is something God will use, i won't have the awful side effects.

No More Delay - It's Time To Birth The Promises!

IT'S TIME TO BIRTH THE PROMISES!!! 

And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.  Hebrews 11:11

It is uncanny how many people I know are seeing repetition in numbers.  11:11, 111, 444, 222, 333, etc.  God often speaks to me using numbers, and often the time.  When He highlights a number multiple times, I take notice and begin to seek Him on what that might mean.  

Before we moved from Kansas City to El Dorado Springs, I saw 444 for months beforehand.  The Lord showed me that this meant open doors.  We had been praying and sensing a change and then suddenly God moved us away.  

For the past 2 years, I've been seeing 444 again....and have been strongly sensing a move.

I've also been seeing 11:11 (and other numbers, but for this blog, focusing on 11:11).  After multiple times over the past week or so, I asked God, what are you speaking for me?  For us?  I heard Hebrews 11:11 - the verse above.  I asked Him ok, so am I getting pregnant? Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!   I have had in my spirit that this month, September is the month we will be birthing our destiny, my healing and a turnaround in our finances. I know, in the natural, there is absolutely no way we can see this happening.   But if you look at this verse, Sarah wasn't looking at her natural circumstances, she was focused on the Lord = WHO IS FAITHFUL!!!!!  That is where we are at.  It has been a hard long journey.  It is hard to be around people, because they ask, anything new on our "destiny".   And our answer is the same.  Not that we can "see".  It's often awkward at best.  I know some must think we are absolute fools!  And then there are the few that really care and are walking with us, believing and contending for this dream to come to pass.

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; 

it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.  Hebrews 11:1 

This morning, I was sitting on the couch, with my bible in hand.....asking God to speak to me. To be honest, I had tears streaming down my face.  Feeling a little sorry for myself. I've had so many sleep deprived nights, frustrated that I can't find a remedy to allow me to sleep. Frustrated, that this exacerbates and gives me additional health concerns. Frustrated that I cannot change a thing!  Only God can!  Yet, my heart was still in prayer and grieving for so many who have way worse problems than I do.  I had just been looking at videos from Hurricane Maria and the earthquake in Mexico.  It truly grieved my heart, the fear and devastation those people are experiencing.  And so, I thought how selfish I was complaining again about my little old problems.   At that moment, I got a text from a friend in Kansas City.   She is not one I talk to often but she hears from God.  She sent me this:  

Ezekiel 12:21-28
There Will Be No Delay

21 The word of the Lord came to me: 22 “Son of man, what is this proverb you have in the land of Israel: ‘The days go by and every vision comes to nothing’? 23 Say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am going to put an end to this proverb, and they will no longer quote it in Israel.’ Say to them, ‘The days are NEAR when EVERY vision will be fulfilled. 24 For there will be no more false visions or flattering divinations among the people of Israel.25 But I the Lord will speak what I will, and it shall be fulfilled without delay. For in your days, you rebellious people, I will fulfill whatever I say, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”

26 The word of the Lord came to me: 27 “Son of man, the Israelites are saying, ‘The vision he sees is for many years from now, and he prophesies about the distant future.’

28 “Therefore say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: None of my words will be delayed any longer; whatever I say will be fulfilled, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”

In that moment, my tears went from tears of sorrows to tears of joy.  God knew exactly what I needed to hear to give me strength and courage to press forward, once again.  This Scripture is filled with NOW words.  It sums up the words God has spoken to my heart in my quiet time and through other personal prophetic words.

I don't know how!!  I don't know exactly when!  But, I do believe that my God, who is faithful is about to birth EVERY promise He has spoken to us.   I believe this applies to others in the Body of Christ as well.  It is time, we step into our destinies.  There is such a great harvest to be harvested!  Many hurting, broken souls that need Jesus!  They need to know the love of the Father.  They need to be set free from bondages, sin and addictions.  It's time to be about our Father's business once again!

NO MORE DELAY!  IT'S TIME TO BIRTH THE PROMISES!

Canyon - His back legs are getting weaker.  Pray for strength.  I pray that when it's time, God will just take him peacefully in his sleep as I am kissing him.  :)
Ministry - Please pray God will bring forth the provision to fund EVERY vision He has given us.... as the verses said above.... and that it will be even this month (which is my birthday month and my birthday verse is Matthew 9:29 According to your faith, let it be done unto you!   Birthing health & destiny would be the best birthday gift!!

Possesing the Land - 3 Ways to Slay the Giants

David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

       1 Samuel 17:45 

Giants - what are they? Could they be-  Fear? What ifs? Doubt? 

Is there something the Lord is asking of you and maybe you're afraid to step out and do?

Did God open a door for you and you took a step but then turned back to your comfort zone?

What dream or vision has God placed in your heart that when it comes to pass, you'll move into it and not look back?  

Recently, someone we know was offered what they thought was a job doing what they love in a location that was everything they had always prayed for. A dream come true!  But when they got there, they came upon some giants (some things that weren't comfortable for them).  They ended up turning around and coming back to the place they knew.  They walked away from what could of been their Ephesians 3:20 dream!  

In no way am I wanting to bring condemnation or guilt on this person.  I admire that they were willing to try.  It was a huge leap of faith!  Bravo!!!!

I share it with you because, God has been teaching us how to overcome some of the giants before we ever enter into the land He wants us to possess.   Here are 3 ways to slay those giants! 

1.  Pray - ever since God has shown us this vision for Sonlit Fields, we have created a prayer point list.  When we moved to Eldo, we had no understanding of the impact "territorial spirits" would have on us.  Possessing the promises of God is definitely a spiritual battle!  Prayer is vital - proactive, intentional prayer.  Ask the Lord how to pray against the "giants" you will encounter. 

2.  Get in the Word - Speak the Word - Pray the Word - the more you dive into God's Word, the greater the Truths become embedded into your spirit.  God will give you specific Scripture promises that you can apply to your land of giants and overcome.  His Word goes out and does not return void - Isaiah 55.

3.  Believe - you must believe that the Lord is with you, He won't forsake you and He will help you overcome.  You have to believe in things unseen.  There are so many "friendly fire" giants you will encounter that can talk you right out of your destiny.  There are many critics or naysayers that just can't understand what God may ask of you.  Separate yourselves from them if necessary.  Align yourself with those who will support you even if they don't understand.  You need people who will encourage you and strengthen you and cheerlead you on!  

As I was sitting with the Lord this morning, I heard Him say - I, the LORD will make it happen.  He then led me to this passage.  

Then Moses and Aaron fell facedown in front of the whole Israelite assembly gathered there. Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had explored the land, tore their clothes 7 and said to the entire Israelite assembly, “The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. If the Lord is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us.  Only do not rebel against the Lord. And do not be afraid of the people of the land, because we will devour them. Their protection is gone, but the Lord is with us. Do not be afraid of them.” 

Numbers 14:5-9.  

I sense that many of us are about to step into the land the Lord has shown us. We've been contending, decreeing & believing....and many are stuck in hope deferred. God will bring those promises to pass. It will be a longing fulfilled. It will be exceedingly greater than you could ever hope or imagine. The Lord says be patient My Child. I am lining things in your favor. It takes time to move hearts & shift things. I will not fail you nor disappoint. Put your hope in Me. 

What seems like DELAY is not....God is going before you to slay some of the giants.....and He has equipped you - already prepared you to slay the remaining giants as you possess the land.   He says, do not be afraid of the giants. I the Lord have given you all you need to conquer & possess. Focus on Me, trust that I have good for you. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Be EXPECTANT and full of HOPE......and when you LEAST expect it, HE WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Prayer Requests
Me - Ouch, today I tripped & fell and landed on my already painful hip! Ugh!   Please pray for complete healing in my body!
Ken - Pray for God's wisdom and favor... and peace as he is the one who handles our finances.  We know God is faithful to provide, but it isn't easy walking faith for finances out!
Ministry - please pray that doors would begin to open and provision to fund the vision would come forth.  We feel there may be some momentum recently and are trusting God!
Canyon - I started giving him Tumeric pills and he actually seems to be doing a bit better.  Knowing that eventually his time with us will be ending.   He is 15 1/2 years old - lifespan for his breed is 10-12.  Wow! Thank you Lord!

Vision

God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.  

The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord. 

We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating people into the world & health and wellness retreats and more.  

The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but better help them be ready to serve in their church.
