How Do You Get the Wall Before You to Fall?

Joshua v 20 When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city. 21 They devoted the city to the Lord

Is there a mountain in your life you need moved? Is there a wall that needs to come down? A stronghold broken? Healing? Financial breakthrough?

This past Sunday, our pastor talked about Jericho Walls and the key to them coming down. It really struck me in several ways. I'll come back to that.

Ever since Ken and I got saved, the Lord has had us on a tremendous journey and increasing our faith through it. We sold our home in Kansas City in 2014 and moved to El Dorado Springs, MO because of His still small whisper and a water jug that a guest at our house brought with them. That was our confirmation. We did have several other "clues" that pointed us there. Some thought us foolish and it was definitely a stretching of faith. The time in Missouri gave us wisdom and knowledge about living off the grid, being in the country and learning about being self-sustaining. The night before moving day, our movers called and asked where they were taking our stuff, but we didn't know until after that call and let them know in the morning. There was grace for that. But not something I'd recommend.

There have been other times with moving that have been just as much a faith journey- see previous blog. And here we are again with the landlord selling the home and having to be out by 8/1. Just over 5 years ago, the Lord moved us from Missouri to Montana to fulfill the destiny He has for us. We are ready. He says we are ready. It's been a long long long journey of growing in Him. We've learned to be content with very little and we have learned greater humility and we have grown in faith more than I cared for (my fault - I prayed for world overcoming faith when I got saved).

We are less than 60 days out from needing to move. We have no idea where we are going (yet). God does....but unfortunately for us, He has not revealed it.

I have to say, we are weary. We are not wanting a last minute move and yet the days are ticking by. We want to KNOW where we are going and soon. We have faith and confidence that GOD will show up and HE will provide a place. We know His timing is perfect. But if you've ever had to wait until the last minute to move, you'll know how stressful that can be.

We are looking at rentals HOWEVER we are contending for the Lord to open the door to DESTINY. That means a sizable acreage property with a home on it and the funds to support the vision and all that it requires. It's a faith walk for sure.

We are praying for God to open ONLY the door HE has for us and shut all other doors. And the good news HE is shutting or keeping shut all doors for rental properties that possibly could work. Most are way out of our budget or too small or a huge amount of stairs. We do NOT feel we are to downsize everything. We've tried to sell furniture and other large items, but they are not selling. But anything little like a lamp, rug or a portable air conditioner etc is selling fast. So it seems like doors are staying closed for the bigger ticket items.

We have NO backup plan. We have no place we can just stay or store items and stay. We have no family we can stay with. We have GOD and God alone! That's enough!

Everything the Lord has been speaking and confirming through random prophetic words or in our quiet time is STAND and CONTEND for destiny! Contend for my healing! Contend for the breakthrough. And yet everything in the NATURAL is completely opposite!

So back to Jericho Walls! You see our walls. What is the key for us to have the breakthrough into DESTINY?

Here's what my pastor said - "The answer is UNITY!" Unity in prayers, unity in thoughts, words, actions and believing with us! It's true. What prayer would God answer, mine or yours when we are not praying in unity or agreement? The answer is unity for YOU as well.

Here's what I've seen. When you ask someone to pray for you - say for healing of a broken bone. And then they pray but tell you they prayed that the bone would just be comforted, not healed, how would you feel? Is that someone you want praying for you? If you asked someone to pray for your wayward child who is far from the Lord, would you be ok if they prayed for your child to just be happy doing whatever they are doing?? Seems ludicrous. Well, sadly that's often what I see. Maybe not these examples, but just the same, not praying in agreement or unity. It is hard enough to walk in faith. Believe me, we get enough flack from the enemy, why add fellow believers to that difficulty. Instead, let's come alongside someone in their time of need - believing and see what God can and will do in unity.

When someone asks us to pray for them, we come in agreement with what they are asking for (of course biblically based) and we also ask them what the Lord is speaking to them. If that seems sound, then why would we not want to pray in agreement?

Unity is key! Years ago, the Lord spoke those very words to Ken and I. When we are in unity, there is peace. When we pray in unity, answers come. When we are in disunity, God can't bless that. Do you hear what I'm saying? God wants to bless His children, but His children are not in UNITY!!

So.. what Jericho Wall do you have that needs to come down? What can we pray for you for in unity? Please reach out!

WE are asking for prayer in unity of what we feel the Lord is saying.
Open only the DOOR HE has for us and keep all others shut (and that He would reveal that soon). We contend for what we feel He's speaking and we trust Him for the outcome. If that door is another rental, we'll walk through it. But what IF it's the destiny property? What if God wants to do that NOW? Why would we want to settle for an Ishmael?

Matthew 9 “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

Hugs, love and prayers.

Vision

God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.

The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord.

We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating people into the world & health and wellness retreats and more.

The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but better help them be ready to serve in their church.

In our community building - we will eventually have a 24/7 prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.

Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more souls into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!  We also have a passion to give generously to help those in need and to help others launch into their God given destinies.

Leap of Faith - Anti-climatic!

The Bible tells us that we are to walk by faith and not by sight.  2 Corinthians 5:7

Transparency alert..........

I am thankful for the ONLY open door God has provided with our housing situation.  In just 10 days we will moving into a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house with extra large bonus room and 2 car detached garage....and a large fenced yard.  That is double the space we have now.  I am thankful for the new landlord who has said he will not raise rents.  (That's what our existing landlord said too).  The new one has been easy to work with so far and quite flexible.  The rent and utilities are DOUBLE what we pay now and unless God opens doors of income, we are upside down big time.  That is not a comfortable place to be.  However, this is the ONLY choice we have...  and we have to trust that God is leading us this direction.  Oh - did I tell you we have a sexual predator right across the street from this new place?

He promises to meet all of our needs.  Phil 4:19.   We have to have $3750 by 8/20.   We have just a small amount right now.  We have an open insurance claim for hail damage we had while in KC.  We are awaiting reply to see if we can just not repair our car and take the cash?   It's been a month with no response yet with continued follow up.

Ken feels like we are stepping backwards.  It's obvious he's frustrated about this.  He made the comment that it seems that "professing Christians" have caused us the most angst, stress & hurt in our lives!    I am just confused.  Why did God tell me in April, He was taking my Facebook income away and then did when that would pay our new rent.   I'm confused because for the past two years, we finally made enough income that we could pay our bills and enjoy a little on the side.  We have lived by faith financially since 2005.  He has always been faithful to provide in different ways, but the toll it takes on you when you have to be utterly dependent on Him to pay bills or buy groceries is real.  I know that's part of our walk and it's confusing for others too.   We have to continue to believe He will take care of us.  This whole move is anti-climatic.  No excitement, no motivation other than we have to get out of dodge!

I am struggling with feelings of anger and frustration at our existing landlords.  I was talking with someone in our home group and she said she was going through the same emotions towards them too.  The tension around here (they live next door) is thick.  They avoid us, run into their home when we come out and passive aggressive behavior.  It is just unreal.  We have no idea what changed in their minds or hearts - but it sure seems demonic. The only communication we have with them is through their attorney.   I go back and forth - praying for them  and then having thoughts of ill will.  I have to continuously forgive them.  Now I truly know what Joseph felt when he was sent to jail for something he didn't even do.   Thankful we aren't going to jail...but the prison of added financial stress is almost as bad.

On the brighter side - we are almost 1/2 packed.  I've had a few friends come to help me during the day. Most of the rest can't be done until we decide to eat off paper plates and not cook.  LOL.   We also have 2 trucks and trailers along with a few men to help with the move.  That will help as we won't have to rent a Uhaul.

I do see God's hand in all this.  Really - we've been praying for God to bring us into a bigger place to accommodate all that He is having us do!  That I'm thankful for!  It truly is a miracle that this house for the price became available and how it came to our attention was an answer to prayer.  We didn't have to qualify our income.  He didn't call our existing landlord because who know what they would have said about us.  He only checked our credit and background which of course we passed with flying colors!  The location (though in town) is convenient.   And yet, He still has 8 days before we sign the lease.... and would love to see BREAKTHROUGH in stepping into DESTINY - the RETREAT property.   ??? That would be our prayer still........

I am thankful for the many of you who reach out to us and share that you are praying for us!   It touches me deeply.   I cry often in thanksgiving to God for you!

I am thankful that God promises a future and a hope!

I am thankful that He is faithful no matter what we are going though!

Please let me know how I can pray for you - and how I can celebrate God's goodness with you!

Hugs, love and prayers.

Stay The Course & Take God at His Word!

In this blog:
Stay the Course
Update

Are you waiting on God?  It seems like most of our Christian walk is waiting on God for something?  What has He spoken to you?  Can you take Him at His Word?  What do you do?  How do you actively wait?

Psalm 119:1-5
You're blessed when you stay on course, walking steadily on the road revealed by God.
You're blessed when you follow his directions, doing your best to find him.
That's right - you don't go off on your own; you walk straight along the road he set.
You, God, prescribed the right way to live; now you expect us to live it.
Oh, that my steps might be steady, keeping to the course you set..  (Emphasis mine)

According to Wikipedia: "Stay the course" is a phrase used in the context of a war or battle meaning to pursue a goal regardless of any obstacles or criticism.

What obstacles are you facing?  Are you hearing criticism from those around you?
Whenever you walk in faith, trusting God for a promise or a dream He has put on your heart, you're bound to face obstacles and experience "border bullies" as Bruce Wilkinson calls them in his book Dream Giver.  Border bullies are those naysayers, those that could potentially hinder or bring discouragement as you wait on the Lord.  But the Lord says, "blessed when you stay the course".   It's imperative that you surround yourself with those who will support you, encourage you, pray with you and cheer you on towards your dreams.  If there are folks around you who don't do this, do your best to disconnect for this season.

What has God spoke to you?  What dreams has He placed in your heart?  This past month I've been spending time in the Gospels (The Message Bible).  Every story I read, the message that the Holy Spirit has been putting on my heart is, "you can take Me at My Word".   Remember the story where Jesus told the boy to go the next town and get a colt.  He said if they ask you what you're doing, tell them I (Jesus) need it.  Do you think that if I told you to go to the next town and go to a car lot and get me a new SUV, and if they asked what are you doing, you could tell them I sent you and they would just give the car to you?  Doubtful!  They'd probably have you arrested for insanity.  Ha!  But this boy, he had faith and didn't doubt Jesus.  He took Him at His Word.  So the boy went and did what Jesus said.  They didn't question why Jesus needed the colt, they just let the boy get it.  Matthew 21 Pretty Cool!
That means we too can take God at His Word!

Update: Last blog, I included a prophetic word we received that indicated, we were to "stay the course".  Since that blog, we have had that same word spoken over us three additional times.  We are doing just that!  The past 2 months have been packed full of phone calls relating to design, development & building a retreat, equipping hub.  We have been working with an organization to get our 501c3 formed and are excited to announce the name of our new business/ministry is Sonlit Fields, Inc.   We are working on a business plan, a logo and will work on a website when we are a bit closer.

Also, since the last blog, we have now renewed a 6 month lease and the property we want has gone off the market for sale.  We are praying and believing that when the funds come in, the seller's will still be willing to sell to us.  We feel this is the perfect property to do what God is calling us to do, but as we always do, we hold on loosely.  God may have a better property or a different plan.  But, we stay the course until we hear anything differently.

God is using us to minister to quite a few - a couple who has recently come off meth addiction and is now following the Lord; several individuals who have had trauma in their childhood, troubled marriages, alcoholics driving to get sober, etc.

I (Michele) still wrestling with God on timing for my healing.  He continues to reassure me that He will heal me completely!  Standing on His promises!!!!

We are continuing to believe God for the provision for this vision He has put on our hearts.  We have no idea on how He is going to bring the funds needed, but know where He guides, He provides.

Ken is still working at Dollar General in which they reduced his hours to three days.  The extra days off help with the planning process we are doing for the retreat property, however, the income has been reduced to about $300 a month.   Obviously this isn't enough.  We continue to trust God to meet our needs and He is faithful!
Would you continue to pray for us as the Lord leads or more specifically for:
Provision, Health and Open Doors!!

Bless YOU.  Thank you for caring for us, praying for us and standing with us!  If there is anything you need prayer for, please let us know.  We are happy to!!!

If you have been blessed by this ministry or feel led to support what God is doing through us - financially, below are a few options.  Your generosity and your prayer support is greatly appreciated and needed as we continue to walk in faith and God's calling.

God Bless YOU -
