Waiting On The Lord Is Like A Ping Pong Game!

Psalm 27:13-14

I would have despaired had I not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.  Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes wait for and confidently expect the Lord.

TheBibleSays.com say this about these verses:  David acknowledges that left on his own he would not have been able to find and embrace the hope needed to carry on.  Rather, he would have despaired, a phrase rendered in English that is contextually understood from the negatively inclined Hebrew conjunction ("lule") meaning "unless" or "had it not been." The complete loss of hope, a full surrender to being overwhelmed by negative and opposing forces would likely have been David's fate EXCEPT that he had believed(Hebrew, "aman"). That belief, a wholehearted and active engagement with the Lord, unlocks all the possibilities and remedies made available by God to the believing soul,

Have you ever waited on God and despaired?  Felt a complete loss of hope?  Being overwhelmed with a full onslaught of negative and opposing forces?  You too?

As you know, if you've read any of my previous blogs, we are in a transition of housing.  We've been here before.  We moved from KC to MO not knowing where until the night before.  We moved from a home in MO to another in MO with only a day knowing where.  We moved from a place in MT to this one with 12 days to spare (whew).  And this time we've had almost 3 full months to move and yet there is NOTHING available that meets our needs.  Either way too small for more money, too many stairs or way out of our budget.  Most are out of our budget.   We are down to 24 days to MOVING day.   Fortunately our landlord has said we could stay through 8/3 if needed so we may change moving day until 8/2.     We are still contending and believing for the open door into our destiny property, our forever home as the Lord has said.  We are asking for God to open only the door He has for us and keep all others shut (which the latter He is doing quite well).

When you or I wait on God, in my experience, it seems to be a  pretty regular occurrence.  How about yours?  Why do you think God keeps us waiting and always showing up in the 11th hour?  For me, it's been a process to increase my faith in Him.  It's been a process of growing in deeper dependence on Him.  It's a process of greater preparation for what's next.  So why does it feel like my mind and thoughts are in the middle of a ping pong game.

One minute strong in faith and believing for the impossible and the next doubt and fear and with cloudy vision that it won't happen.

One minute it's knowing HE won't fail us and the next is overwhelming concern.

One minute it's excitement and anticipating and the next hopelessness and depression.

One minutes it's peace and comfort and the next it's frantic & overly stressful.

One minute trusting all the Rhema words spoken by the Lord or others for you and the other wondering if any of it was true?

One minute confidently expecting and the other utter despair.

Are you feeling the ping pong game?  Just writing that, all the emotions I've been experiencing over the last few months came back in intensity.  The tears start flowing.  The fear creeps in.  And yet..... I place my trust in the only One who can open the doors for us.  Even if that's another rental or if it's Destiny Doors we've been trained and persevered for such a long time.

I don't remember having these same up and down feelings the last several times we've had to trust God for our next home.  I sense that there are several factors this time.

1.  Just maybe the warfare around destiny is greater because it's close.    We had a friend reach out and say that she was praying what the Lord showed her "people" who have been praying against our destiny. Ouch!   And we've experienced a little of this first hand because they don't have the same faith as God has given us.  That's ok.  This is our walk- not theirs.   If they can't pray in agreement with what we feel the Lord is saying, then really we don't want those prayers.   Ouch!

2.  Maybe God is working in someone to bring forth the promise of destiny - and yet...   Someone once taught us that God uses others to bring forth His plans and will in others.  When we aren't responding to His promptings and are not willing then sadly others miss out on the blessings.  Others don't get their healing or  destiny.   God will bring it back around to another person or persons, but that often takes time.   I wonder how many of us have missed a blessing?  I wonder how many missed theirs because of our own disobedience?

3.  A lot has changed in the world over the past few years.   Cost of living has gone up big time here in Montana.   A starter home here - 2 bedroom 1 bath is 300k or more.  The house we currently live in sold for 457k.   Our home in KC sold for that much and was 3 x the size and with 2 acres of land and a pool.  Rentals here are $2000 for a 2 bedroom 1 bath place with around 800 sq ft.   We currently reside in 1500 sq ft  3 bedrooms, 2 bath with 2 car garage and a detached building for $1750.  I never imagined I'd pay that much for rent.  And this is the high end of our budget.    And we are really tired of renting - the instability.  I do not like moving all the time!!!  I'm ready for my forever home!

4.  And, recently I was diagnosed (again) with Hp Axis Adrenal Dysfunction which means that my ability to cope with anything stressful is limited.  My hypothalamus and pituitary glands are not up to par and communicating well.   Chronic Stress and Chronic Pain are the two biggies that cause this.  If you've know me for any period of time, you'll know chronic pain has been the past 40+ years.  And the last several years it's taken a huge toll on me and now the lab work shows that for sure!    I am trusting God to heal me as He has promised.  That is also part of the stress.  The same ping pong match on my health.   He made me a promise in 2002 that He would completely heal me.   And yet.........

How do you encourage yourself in the Lord?  How do you stay strong in the middle of trials and waiting?  How do you know you're hearing clearly from the Lord?

IT'S TIME!   There is such a need for what God has called us too.  Many are feeling it's time.  We come in agreement with what the Spirit is speaking!  IT'S TIME!

Yesterday I was in my quiet time, and the Lord spoke to me some very specific things about what's next.  And I kind of rolled my eyes like am I really hearing you?   And He said He'd confirm this word.  Within an hour a friend of mine sent a prophetic word written by someone else and I'm not kidding you much of it was verbatim what the Lord spoke to me.   And then another person sent me a direct prophetic word that confirmed it again.   I just read in John 8 about 2 witnesses.  So that helps for the "moment" not to second guess it.

One thing I like to do is worship even if it feels hard.  One song I love is this one - https://youtu.be/-RvyLVpsZdc?si=GpqeHSUFe6U8E-rs   On Time God.

God is never early - never late - but always right on time.   I don't know what that really means.  Do you? He won't fail us.  He will provide.  He will meet our every need.  He has a perfect place for us.  His word won't return void.    He is faithful and trustworthy!   He will do it!  And even if he doesn't, we will still trust Him.  He's a good good Father.

Two promises I'm clinging to- both the Lord spoke to me when we were in MO.

Isaiah 32:18 And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places

Isaiah 65:9 I will bring forth descendants from Jacob, and from Judah those who will possess my mountains; my chosen people will inherit them, and there will my servants live

We are ready!

Please pray for my healing - especially from this new diagnosis.  I'm not sleeping much.  I'm jumpy, no energy, no mental motivation.  It's not fun!!  Please pray for Ken as he tweaked his back and that has been difficult for him especially with his work up and down ladders.   Please pray for THE LORD TO OPEN ONLY THE DOOR HE HAS FOR US!  That covers it all!      Thank you.

Let me know how I can pray for you!

Hugs, love and prayers.

Vision

God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.

The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord.

We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating people into the world & health and wellness retreats and more.

The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but better help them be ready to serve in their church.

In our community building - we will eventually have a 24/7 prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.

Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more souls into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!  We also have a passion to give generously to help those in need and to help others launch into their God given destinies.

It's Still Raining - To God be the Glory!

It's still raining!   When it rains for days on out and the skies remain gray, you often wonder if the sun will ever shine again.  I remember that in Kansas City when storms rolled through.  Sometimes they moved on fast, but other times they remained for what seemed eternity.   Those times were often met with discouragement,  hope deferred & leaving us wondering where God is.   God's Word promises us that He will never leave us or forsake us. That He goes before us.  I am extra thankful that we are not alone.   This is a promise I cling too often.

What do we do when it keeps raining?  Imagine being out to sea and a huge storm rolls in.  The thunder is cracking above you, the lightning strikes hit the water all around you and your boat capsizes.  You're being tossed about by the ever swelling waves.  You trying swimming but it only wears you out to the point of utter exhaustion.  You don't feel you can go on.  You are thinking it would be just easier to drown and be done with it.  Have you ever felt that way?  Are you going through a storm?

Two nights this week I had dreams.  The first dream I remember seeing a metallic sign on wood posts at the edge of a property saying  "To God be the Glory" and in the other dream I was speaking the words "To God be the Glory.   I had a general idea of what that means - but looking further it was about giving God praise and glory for things He has done, things He is doing and things He will do.  I've been doing that.  I've been trying to stay in a posture of Thanksgiving and Praise - even when I don't feel it.  It really does help you get the focus off self and onto Him.   And yet, the storms, the raging waves continue to pound and that can cause you to lose focus.    We need to keep our eyes, hearts and posture focused on God.  There are so many things going on in the world that are trying to distract us from the Lord.

In my quiet time today,  the Lord asked me to read in 2 Kings 2.  This is the story about Elijah and Elisha.  Elisha asked Elijah for a double portion when he was going to be taken away.  He wasn't asking for power, wealth or worldly advantages.  He was asking for the inheritance a first born son would receive in Deuteronomy 21:17.  He was asking for the ability to carry out and handle the calling on his life that the Lord had for him. He was asking for the anointing that would bless others and bless the Lord.  Because of his devotion and ability to remain strong through all the testing, God honored this request and he was blessed with the double portion.  He was also given the ministry of Elijah.  It is not often that one ministry will hand over their ministry to another.  With the right heart posture, with a life of persevering through testing and trials, God rewards those people.  That's what God wanted me to see and maybe you too!   He says when you persevere, when you keep your devotion on Me even through the storms of life, even know you are being tossed all over the place, I see you.  I am with you. I am for you.   He told me how proud He was of me for all of this..... though it's been a long difficult journey.

Also, this morning the Lord gave me this quote:   Don't let what you SEE stop you from BELIEVING what I have SAID!  I AM true to My WORD!  and then To God be the Glory, forever and ever. Amen!

He was reminding me that His promises are Yes and Amen. That nothing can thwart His plans for our lives.  That includes the healing He promised in 2002.  That means the provision for the vision.  That means destiny will be fulfilled.

The more I look around at this world.. what's going on, the food shortages, inflation and the threats looming of even greater issues, I see this year, God setting the stage, preparing the way for the calling He has for us.  That may sound odd.  As you know the Lord has called us to build a retreat center - a refuge - a ministry center that will reach the lost, the hurting the broken - bring them in, heal them up, disciple them and equip them to go out and do the same.  What seems impossible in the natural - especially financially - is POSSIBLE with the Lord.   What seems impossible with my health and chronic issues and one thing after another, is POSSIBLE with the Lord.  He has promised us to give us all that we need to do what He's asking of us!  To God be the Glory now and forever and ever.  Amen!

If you are going through a storm - maybe these songs will help you as they do me!!

Prayer requests:

Ken took on a side painting job to help make a dent in tax bill -  that will keep him busy for the next 4 weekends.  Painting is a pretty physical job and he is worn out each night.  Pray for him to have stamina to work 6 days....and that his day off is restful and rejuvenating.

Me - I've had some kind of stomach bug or food poisoning that has lasted 2 weeks now.  We ate some sushi (not raw) but it didn't taste good as if something was wrong with it so I'm wondering if that did this.  We both had issues - Ken just got over sooner.  (TMI)   Pray for sleep - it's hit or miss.  I'm thankful for the nights I get decent sleep.   I had 3 Facebook Marketing interviews this week - and a Tasting Party for Thrive Life - Please pray God would provide through these.

If you have a prayer need or a praise report you'd like to share, please email me.  I am so thankful for all the prayers and support you provide!  God is good!

I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people.  Ephesians 1:18

Now is the time....

Hugs, love and prayers.

What Does Gumby Have To Do With Our Move?

photocredit community.broadcom.com
We can make our plans,
but the Lord determines our steps. Proverbs 16:9

Are you one who likes a plan? A semi-set schedule that you can follow?  A plan often brings peace, comfort and a guide to help keep you on track.  But what if the Lord says "Be flexible" and all of that goes out the window.

I remember back in the 90's we were taking a vacation to Kauai with some friends.  I solicited all the things they wanted to do and what we wanted to do and started mapping out a plan and making schedules (so that we could get all of it in).  After discussing some options, they said, "we'd prefer to be spontaneous" and if we can't do something, that's ok.  So in an effort to accommodate them, I said, ok, I will "plan" to be spontaneous.  I still had to make a plan, a plan to be spontaneous. Planning to be spontaneous at least gave me peace in some odd way.

Well, here we are again.  I am being asked of the Lord, to plan to be spontaneous as we MOVE across the country!!!  What I believe that means is, be flexible.  Be flexible and open to His promptings each day.  Be flexible on the timing of leaving here and the timing on arrival in Montana. Our movers come 4/9 (that may change) and we had planned to stay in KC for a couple nights, but now that may be changing.   It also means being flexible in not making hotel reservations and just "winging" it as we go.  We are finding that many hotels & air bnb's are not open along our path.  It means being flexible on the actual "path/roads" we take as we are being told certain states do not want you traveling through due to COVID19?  I haven't actually seen this anywhere but am making some calls to the various states and their local governments to confirm or not.

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.  1 Chronicles 16:11

As I was praying this morning in my quiet time, I heard "Gumby".  I was like what does Gumby have to do with anything? I felt led to do some research about Gumby, because frankly I have not much knowledge about his character other than his body was flexible.

Here's a few key points I found:

Taken from: https://www.huffpost.com/entry/gumby-is-the-meaning-of-l_b_115511.

1. Because Gumby was a Claymation™ creation, he was eminently flexible and had a special knack for getting in to, out of, and through fantastic and often-danger-filled escapades

2. Gumby's power is much more than flexibility. Gumby is more than ever becoming key to success in whatever world you tool around in. The next time a colleague, friend or Aunt Bertha asks how you triumph in the face of unbelievable odds, tell them "Gumby."

3. Gumby is action. Lazy is easy. Action is often strenuous and sometimes exhausting, but those who have Gumby (or saw him on TV) know that taking the effortless path rarely gets you where you need to be. Identifying nascent trends, for example, requires vigorous analysis of information from multiple sources, searching beyond your comfort zone.

4. Gumby learns. In each of his escapades, Gumby learned from those around him. He sought information and explanation, and had fun doing it. Today, we're bombarded by data from more sources than we can count, and those who embrace Gumby invest the energy to constantly expand their wealth of knowledge.

How our move compares to Gumby -
1. Much like Gumby, to some, our move seems dangerous & ridiculous and yet to others adventuresome.  I waffle between the two.  As mentioned before, the Lord told Ken and I on the same morning to book our moving truck for 4/9.  Two days later the Lord said to me, crossover on Passover.. and when I looked up the date for Passover this year, it begins on 4/8 sundown and goes to 4/9 sundown.  That was pretty amazing to learn.  Leaving our Egypt and heading into our Promise Land.

2. Much like Gumby, we are going to triumph with God's help in the face of unbelievable odds.  Here's how I know that - 2 Corinthians 2:14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ's triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.  We are up against a lot of odds - 1. Will our SUV make the trip safely?  No heat/defrost (forecasting snow/ice along our path), big oil leak problem.  Both of these repairs require hours of labor, the cost would be more than the car's worth.  2. We are on a tight budget and not being able to "book" a room could mean higher cost - but yet trusting God!!  3.  Not knowing with roads to take or being flexible on that gives me some anxiety... I'm not fond of mountain passes and high elevations and especially with inclement weather and pulling a trailer with a car that's not necessarily safe.  But God!! Right, He will lead us into victory!

3. Like Gumby, strenuous and exhausting activity of a move is accurate.  It has been physically hard for Ken & I. And it has been requiring much seeking the Lord, keeping up with the news on COVID19 and how it affects travelers, etc.  So far, I don't think it's going to impact us too much except using extra caution at gas stations, rest stops, hotels and eating... LOL!

4.  Like Gumby, I am/we are learning and growing our faith, trust and utter dependence on the Lord.  Like Gumby, we are expanding our wealth of knowledge in areas we never thought we'd would be interested in.   Years ago when we first got saved, there was a song we loved (still do)and prayed the words of this song each time.   It's called Live the Adventure of Jesus - Here's a link to it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNSKVbhhIsY.  Oh, dear ones, be careful how you pray.  God just answers those prayers in ways you never imagined!! Hee Hee!!

I had no knowledge or desire to know about Gumby until God led me to it today.  It is so amazing how God speaks to us and uses odd characters to do so.

Is there a situation in your life that requires you to be like Gumby?  Is there something you could be more flexible on?   Know that God is your source for everything as you keep tuned into His voice.  He will always lead you in triumph as you follow His lead!!

Prayer/Praise
1.  Praise God that He is with us!!
2.  Praise God that Ken's last day of work was yesterday.  It ended well! His boss even made a comment that Ken had to hurry and get out of there or he would cry.
3.  Please continue to pray for my healing and for sleep.
4.  Please continue to pray for provision for a new/reliable suv before we go.
5.  Please continue to pray for God's provision as we arrive in Montana...and also to step into the fullness of the destiny God has for us.
6.  Please pray for open doors for a place to stay as we travel and no issues or hiccups.
7.  Please pray for my heart.  If I focus any amount of time on the thought of not being able to say goodbyes in person, it hurts.  I am extremely relational.

We are so thankful for each of you who support us with your prayers and encouragement.  May God richly bless YOU!!   Our new mailing address is listed below!  We will keep the same phone numbers for awhile.  If you are wanting our new numbers, please email me.

Step Out to Step In?!@#$@!%

It's time to step out......
It's time to step out to step into all God has for us!

Joshua 3 Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from Shittim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before crossing over. After three days the officers went throughout the camp, giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about two thousand cubits between you and the ark; do not go near it.” 5 Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.” Joshua said to the priests, “Take up the ark of the covenant and pass on ahead of the people.” So they took it up and went ahead of them. And the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to exalt you in the eyes of all Israel, so they may know that I am with you as I was with Moses. Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: ‘When you reach the edge of the Jordan’s waters, go and stand in the river.’”Joshua said to the Israelites, “Come here and listen to the words of the Lord your God. 10 This is how you will know that the living God is among you and that he will certainly drive out before you the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites,Girgashites, Amorites and Jebusites. 11 See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you. 12 Now then, choose twelve menfrom the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe. 13 And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord—the Lord of all the earth—set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap.

It's time for us to GO ..... to step out into the "unknown" and step into what God has for us in Montana.  It has been almost 3 years since the Lord showed us Montana.  We have done so much research and the rest can't be done until we get there.  We feel our time in El Dorado Springs, MO is coming to an end - though we have been busy with much ministry.  The Lord has been speaking to us through His Word and dreams and many confirmations and we have sought counsel from those who have done this many times.  There are lots of unknowns and we have more questions than we have answers.  What we do have is a knowing that God has been preparing us for this next season.  He has been strengthening our faith and resolve.  I can't say that we are not "afraid" and it will take great courage for us to pull the trigger, but we know that God has assured us He's going before us preparing the way.   We have NO plan except to take BIG BOLD steps......walking in blind faith!  (this song says it all - https://genius.com/Kim-hill-committed-to-the-call-lyrics

Here's what we do know or at least are sensing... if God wants to change things around He surely can....
1. We know the area we are going to - Bitterroot Valley, MT
2. We know that we will give notice to our landlord and Ken's job most likely by March
3. We know God is faithful and He will be with us! He will not fail us!!
Here's what we need...
1.  Prayers first and foremost....prayers, prayers and more prayers for wisdom, clear steps, planning, timing, selling and/or giving away as much as possible, healing to manifest, provision for all needs, courage, overcome giants in the land (snow-lol) and more.
2.  Provision for a moving company.  We originally planned on doing UPack which is like Pods - they'd drop off trailer and we'd load and they'd drive it there.  But they are no longer available in our area.
3.  Provision for a new SUV.  3 years ago the Lord told us to start test driving new SUV's.  We did... We found the 2019 Toyota Highlander Limited Hybrid to be first choice.  I am short and have issues with many SUV's.  So this one fits my body well.  Our SUV has many needed repairs way beyond the value of it.
4. Provision for either purchasing the property we feel the Lord has highlighted OR provision to rent.  Rent in this area is 3x higher than where we are.  Our ideal situation would be to just move into the property and have the funds needed to begin getting things built and going.
5.  We want to finish well here.  We feel that many things have come full circle as the Lord showed us it would.  There are many people here in Eldo we will MISS terribly.  And of course all our friends in KC and family - will be hard to say goodbye!  This will be the biggest move of my life.  And me being relational - it really does make it more difficult.

Quotes by Johann VD Hoven-
"FAITH always has a destination, a point of arrival.  Where is faith leading you to follow?"
"FAITH = Stepping into the unknown holding onto nothing more than the Father's hand!"

We appreciate your prayers and support as we take this HUGE leap of faith.  Please feel free to contact us for any prayer needs you have.
