Joyful Shouting Will Come!

Nehemiah 12:43 And on that day they offered great sacrifices, rejoicing because God had given them great joy. The women and children also rejoiced. The sound of rejoicing in Jerusalem could be heard far away.

Have you ever found yourself waiting on God to fulfill a promise He has spoken to you?  When will that day come?

Today, my reading was in Nehemiah 12.  I don't know whether it was lack of sleep or lack of focus from lack of sleep, but I was not "getting" anything from the passage.   So I went to journaling where I poured out my cries and heart to the Lord once again.   Blah blah blah - really!  I wonder if He gets tired of hearing from me.   I said Lord, I am tired.  I am weary on so many levels.  You have promised this and promised that and YET I still have not seen the answers, the promises fulfilled.

I'm the persistent widow day in day out crying out.  I'm the lady clinging to the hem of Jesus's garment.  I'm the one leper that always comes back and gives God thanks and praise for something He has done.  I'm the centurion with great faith trusting He will bring forth healing.  I'm Abraham surrendering my Isaac to the Lord repeatedly.  I'm the one my 4 friends are lowering on the mat through the roof.  I'm Job wondering what chapter I'm in of that book and hoping its the last one. I'm Elijah being fed by a raven.   I'm Lazarus at times wondering if Jesus will come before I die. I'm Joseph pit, prison and waiting.  I'm Thomas saying I won't believe until I see.   I'm Moses wandering in the wilderness for now 38 years... trying hard to not murmur and complain.   I feel like some of the minor prophets having to "experience" the word that God has given them to share with His people.

All of these and others had to experience long waits.  They had to wait forever it seemed for God to come through, for God to rescue them, for God to heal them, for God to take them into their promised land, for the promises to be made manifest.   I am no different - and most likely you aren't either.

So after I journaled much of what I just wrote... the Lord said look up some commentary on Nehemiah 12.  I stumbled on this blog below.  As I read it, it seemed as if the Lord wanted me to find this blog.  He was reassuring me, that He is working behind the scenes.  He is working things for my good.  And He will for you too.

https://www.thewarehouse.blog/nehemiah-12/

“When the Lord brought back the captive ones of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter and our tongue with joyful shouting; then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” The Lord has done great things for us; We are glad. Restore our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the South. Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting. He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.”

Psalm 126

It seemed like a dream.  The people of captivity had not only served their God-ordered time through being in exile, God had begun the process of restoration.  The temple was built.  The walls were complete.  The city of Jerusalem was safe.  Nehemiah brought all the Levites together, had massive amounts of choirs who through the dedication of the wall was a time of celebration.  I’m sure they never believed it would happen.

But it did.  And it came in God’s timing.

There are things we each hold to or wonder, will it ever happen?  There are countless tears we’ve cried over situations, people and our own life of regret.  We’re like those who dream.  Dream of something that is so far beyond our reach and seems to be impossible.

This lifetime brings a lot of sowing in tears.  Heartache is a constant.  Sadness and loneliness can be suffocating.  Disappointment often bites at our heels.  We stare into the future and think things will never change, people will never change, our life will never change.  What’s interesting to consider:

Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting. He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.

As the Psalm states, as the one who weeps is still sowing.  They’re scattering seed as they go even in deep sadness.  It’s really something to think about.  They don’t stop doing what they’ve been called to do.  In season and out of season, they continue their job.

God has the greatest ability to restore things that once were burnt up, broken, desolate.  Forest fires in time see new growth.  Broken bones heal.  And as much as it sounds cliche, God is able to bring good from any tragedy we are experiencing.

If we don’t have hope, then what do we have?  Some may be at a point of quitting.  Others may be in the mindset of ‘what’s the use?’  Darkness in some situation may be thick.  Beyond what the situation
dictates cling to, hold to, remind yourself that in time God’s great harvest of joy is coming.

-----

What really caught my eye was the part which says, the one who weeps is still sowing. They are scattering seed.  They don't stop doing what they've been called to do.  That is true with me.  Though I am contending for my healing, for the financial provision for the vision, I am still doing all that God has asked.   I am thankful for the people along the way who encourage me with kind words amazed at all I do despite the suffering....  It's those little things that strengthen me.

My point with all this is this - just as it said - keep doing what you know that God has asked of you (whether that's a knowing in your heart, or simply what the Word of God asks us to do).   Stay in faith.  I don't always agree with the statement "His timing is perfect" but when it comes, hindsight will make sense of this.  It always does.   He will do what He says!!

God has spoken to me often - that when the dream is realized, when the promises come forth, I'll say repeatedly pinch me to see if this is real.  And He says "they" will know that I AM the Lord your God! I cannot wait for that day!

Prayer & Praises -

Ken - please continue to pray for Ken - strength and endurance and for 40 hour work week.  He's already working outside these past 2 days with snow overnight and forecasted all week.  Montana hasn't decided it's spring yet.

Michele - My friend and I have been working diligently on 1 of 4 books I am writing.  It's time consuming and takes a lot of mental energy.  Please pray for sleep - and mental focus.  I am still soliciting stories... something you've prayed for and how God answered.  If you would message me we can coordinate a time to chat and I can scribe while you share the story.

Please pray for provision - for the vision and for everyday living.  God is faithful! We are trying to decide whether to sell our 2nd car.  Ken has a company truck..and we don't use the car often....but it would be expensive to replace it if the need arises.

Our home group is so rich and rewarding....and so full of the Holy Spirit moving.

Our pastor of church asked me to plan and do all regarding a Seder coming this Friday. So that has kept me busy and will through Friday pm.

Saturday we head to Butte, Mt where we will see Bob Sorge speak.   He's from KC - and an amazing teacher.  We used to have him at our home church in Kc often.   There's a group of us going.  It will be a good time.  Please PRAY for NO snow or inclement weather as forecasted.  We are staying on top of a hill in a Airbnb - which we have before.  Literally a straight steep road down.  It will not be pleasant if there is bad weather.  Butte is also higher elevation which tends to have more snow.

Thank you for your love and support of us and all that God is doing.  We are thankful for those of you who pray for us.

Hugs, love and prayers.

Vision

God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.

The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord.

We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating people into the world & health and wellness retreats and more.

The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but better help them be ready to serve in their church.

In our community building - we will eventually have a 24/7 prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.

Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more souls into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!  We also have a passion to give generously to help those in need and to help others launch into their God given destinies.

By His Holy Spirit

I am posting today a copy of our friend Joey LeTourneau's recent article on the Elijah List.  (using with permission).  As most of you know Ken and I have been believing God for sometime to bring forth provision for the vision of building a retreat property and equipping hub.  God has been giving us some very specific information in the past few months and soon (we believe) things are going to shift.  This article Joey wrote is so encouraging and confirming to us.   This is so speaking to the things God has been showing us.  I believe for you who are contending and believing God for something, this will also encourage you.

From California to Israel
When my family and I moved back to California in 2014, it was with an eye towards Israel and some of our long-term calling there. Shortly after moving back the Lord showed us why He called us to move back. He offered us a vision of a "bridge" that spanned between California and Israel.
God has continued to show us the vision of this bridge. Not a literal bridge, this "bridge" is meant to be constructed uniquely, lifting people up higher. It's intended to be made up of "refuge-like" properties and lands that God's sons and daughters have been in and are now taking for the Kingdom. They are hot spots on a map, strategically placed, set apart, and are preparation grounds for many that God is raising up between California and Israel—with the intention of rebuilding God's family.
We personally have been contending for such a bridge over the years but it was not until the last number of months we felt a release from the Lord to pursue and possess the vision and to help others by faith do the same.
Angelo and the Timely Gift
"These places will be needed for God's sons and daughters to "get above the cloud line" more often."
"In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." (John 14:2)
This passage was highlighted to me after I had a special encounter. I had the encounter the night after my family and I committed to a specific part the journey of "rebuilding God's house and family". Early in the morning, in one of the most vivid dreams I've ever had, I was awakened to a knock at our door. When I answered, there was an Italian looking man approximately in his sixties who said, "My name is Angelo, I'm your angel and this is one of the happiest days of my life." He then handed me a lavender ring-sized gift box with white ribbon before he disappeared. I carefully opened the box and wondered if it was a ring, or what was possibly in such a package. I unfolded the white tissue paper and discovered a single, silver house key.
Now, you have to understand that for us personally, we are waiting for the right house and property ourselves as we contend to position and align with where the Father wants us to build with Him. So, a house key would be an awesome personal gift and breakthrough! However, I knew in the dream that Angelo's very intentional happiness in presenting this key wasn't just for our personal breakthrough, but even more for what was being released for this time and the re-building of God's big picture house and family.
A Refuge AND A City on a Hill
"In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence, and His children will have a place of refuge." (Proverbs 14:26)
"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden."(Matthew 5:14)
It can sound contradictory to imagine a place that is a refuge, like the shadow of His wings, and yet also for the same place to be a city on a hill that should not be hidden. But we live in a Kingdom that holds these types of beautiful truths in tension with one another. God is raising up existing and new lands that will powerfully embody both at the same time.
These places of refuge, lands of resources and "hot spots" of God's family, are places where the Body of Christ will go to be re-calibrated and refreshed. They are off the beaten path and will allow Believers to "come up higher" out of the task they are engaged with, re-calibrate, and go back into their calling IN the world with renewed vigor and alignment with peace and purpose to give.
At the same time these places of refuge will also serve as a "City on a Hill," where weary wanderers of the world will find living water, the bread of life, and the contrasting light they've been searching for. As Jesus often did, there is something powerful to going away consistently to re-calibrate—and not just in the midst of daily rigors or taking a summit once or twice a year. These places will be needed for God's sons and daughters to "get above the cloud line" more often.
These places will be like watering holes and apostolic hubs that live and walk in Acts 4-like community atmosphere— coming and going to and from all aspects of life and coming from all over the world. They are not program centric but people and presence focused. Watch as these sort of places and relationships come together. Many are already stepping into these lands, many have dreamt of such, and many others will soon join.
How Do We Possess and Build These Lands?
"'This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the Lord of hosts." (Zechariah 4:6)
The notes in the New Spirit-Filled Life Bible state this about Zerubbabel as a re-builder of God's house: "Zerubbabel is ultimately responsible for rebuilding the temple, but he is forbidden to trust the resources of man to accomplish this task. So today God's holy temple, the Church, must be built and sustained, not by wealth, by members, by virtue, nor by sheer strength, but 'by My Spirit.'"
We are not apprehending these places and lands by human means, wealth or strength, but by the authority of His Spirit. So don't be discouraged if you don't seem to have the means yet, just keep following Him with faith and obedience and step into the land that He is or will show you.
The process you have endured and persevered through these past seasons may have left you feeling depleted in the natural of tangible resources for building, but God has seasoned and strengthened you with the same kinds of intangible resources that Zerubbabel was charged with trusting in and building through. These intangible resources come alive through the process we've each just endured. The challenging circumstances you are emerging from have actually profited you the very resources you would need to take ground and build up His family in this present time.
The Power of God's Delight, His Favor and His Countenance

"If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land which flows with milk and honey." (Numbers 14:8)
Recently we were driving into the territory God had told us to contend for, asking Him to show us His strategies to possess the land. During our drive the Lord brought this passage of Numbers 14:8 to heart and we started to declare it as we drove, "If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us."
Moments later, a close friend messaged me not knowing the promise God had given us to declare that day. His message said, "Bro, the Lord is delighting in you!" The only "if" written in this promise is the Lord's delight, and God wants to remind us how delighted He as when we step out in faith with Him. The delight of the Lord paves the way to promises realized. So as you look at the land before you which He is speaking about, remember His delight over you is one of your most precious and powerful weapons.
"For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword nor did their own arm save them; but it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You favored them." (Psalm 44:3)
The Key of David
"The key of the house of David I will lay on His shoulder; So He shall open, and no one shall shut; And He shall shut, and no one shall open." (Isaiah 22:22)
"First love" intimacy is how we utilize this key and where our authority dwells to unlock the doors and gates to these lands and see Father establish them. The key of David isn't a form of contending for such lands that requires striving; rather it is the simple yet powerful authority where we reach towards the lock by reaching through God's heart and during the process He cuts that key to match the access point. Entry is granted as now the right key has entered its matching door. Intimacy is the key to apprehending our land. (Photo via Pixabay)
A Testimony of Simple Faith - "We Ask You God for a House"
Our family has gotten to be part of a number of miraculous testimonies with houses and lands over the years, and to be honest we are even contending for such now. But one testimony I've grown up hearing has always been highlighted. My mom and her siblings were young, their dad was about to pass away within days after being sick for eleven years, and my grandma was working tirelessly on multiple fronts. They had to be out of their house quickly and needed God to provide.
One day, needing to search for a home but without time or money to do so, my grandma pulled over with kids in the car and simply said to the Lord, "You know I don't have time or money to find this new house, but You have promised to provide for us and we ask You God for a house." That very week the neighbor with a big house on a large lot across the street knocked on the door and said, "I was thinking and realized I don't need my house anymore, and you do. I want to give it to you and we can work out some form of compensation later down the line." Thereafter, the family and many friends literally formed something of an "assembly line" passing item after item across the street to move into their new home!
That house became both a refuge and a beacon of light over the years for God's family. Long-term and short-term, it housed leaders, missionaries, those going through difficult seasons, as well as family and friends. The house was a miracle and then many more miracles happened there. It wasn't gained by man's ways or resources, but by simple faith in a good Father who loves to set up places for His family to be loved and empowered.
May you make this testimony your own and see it multiplied unto the family of God around you! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List go here.)

What Keeps Your Focus? Upcoming Events

WHAT KEEPS YOUR FOCUS?

When you look at this glass - do you see it half empty or half full?
When you are going through tough times or life throws you some unwanted circumstances, what are you focusing on?  Do you focus on what you lack or on what you do have?  Are you seeing the hinderance or do you see an opportunity?  Do you see the giants or do you see promises of God?

In the book of Numbers, there's a powerful story about how our thoughts and actions can affect our destiny.  To preface the Scripture highlighted below, Moses tells God's people that they will receive a new land called the Promised Land.  It's a land filled with milk and honey.   The Israelites sent twelve spies into the land first, to see what kind of enemy they were up against.  When they came back they...well, let's read it first hand.....

They gave Moses this account: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit.  But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there.  The Amalekites live in the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live near the sea and along the Jordan.

Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”

But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.”  And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size.

Ten of the twelve spies focused on the giants!  They saw the obstacles and hinderances.  They saw the glass half empty.   However, Joshua and Caleb - they took a different view point.  They saw that the land was good and they had confidence they could overcome the giants because they had faith that God was giving them this land.  They saw opportunity.  They saw provision.  They saw the glass half full.  Their focus was not on how big and bad the enemies were.  They were focused on how good their God was and is!

A pastor once said that if you don't have any hardships in your life, then you must not be a threat to the devil.  On the flip side, if you are experiencing what may be an unfair share of trials and tribulations, praise God!

The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy; I come that you may have life and have it more abundantly.  John 10:10

When I first became a believer, one of the first sermons I heard was about putting on the full armor of God out of Ephesians 6:10.  The pastor was very graphic and had many word pictures describing the battle Christians go through.  If it were a movie, it would of been Rated R for graphic violence and bloody scenes.  He had a way of preaching that put you right in the middle of it.  I remember thinking to myself during that sermon, wow, who are the people that have to go through this.  I sure don't want to.  Ha Ha!

A year later,  someone prophesied over me that the enemy had an assignment for my life and that he was going to do all he could to take me out and plans to destroy me.  Being vulnerable and new in learning about God, I took this threat as literal.  The seed was planted and I allowed it to take root, not knowing yet how to fight it.   (just for the record, I don't think the person who prophesied over me meant it for harm, but definitely delivered it inappropriately).

My entire life has been a battle.  I won't go into detail, but I can tell you that even before I became a believer, the enemy was out to get me and now that I am a believer he has called in the heavy artillery to do whatever he can to take me out!   My health challenges and doctors reports have had me believing that my life could be coming to an end.  The Lord tells me to trust Him and believe that He has good for me and that He has plans for my life and that my life is not over.

Not long ago, the Lord gave me a dream where Satan himself swooped down looking like a pterodactyl and pounced on me.  I was fighting him using the name of Jesus, but he was very overpowering.  I was being wooped.  I was weary and just about dead, when I called on the name of Jesus with much more authority and with a shout of praise... and Satan looked at me and said, you win for now, but I'll be back.  When I awoke, the Lord showed me that I had overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of my testimony.  I received the victory.

Each day is a struggle for me physically and can be emotionally too!   The battle is wearisome!   Even though the battle is the Lords, it is my responsibility to keep my eyes fixed on JESUS.  I must focus on His Word and His Promises!  Just a few days ago, in my quiet time, I asked the Lord again... will I live?  Will we get to see the promises You have spoken to Ken and I?  Or, am I going to die?  The next morning a Facebook friend posted on my wall (I haven't spoke to her for probably a year)......Here's what she wrote:  Thinking about you today..."Yet I am confident that I will see the Lord's goodness while I am here in the land of the living." Psalm 27 NLT. The Lord bless you and all that you love...immeasurably!!  The Lord again in His mercy, gave me reassurance.

Psalm 73:26
My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
I want to encourage you today...no matter what circumstances you are facing keep your eyes FOCUSED on JESUS!  Focus on His Word!  Our faith is strengthened and our minds refreshed when we meditate on His Promises for our lives!  Focus on the goodness of God, not on the lies the enemy is speaking to you.  Focus on the opportunity God has for you and not the obstacles.  See your circumstances from God's viewpoint!  And, ff you need reassurance, just ask Him for it.  He is faithful and His mercy and lovingkindness are forever.
