Dark Hallways Bring Deeper Trust in God
Update/Praise Report
Are you a little down? Frustrated? Are you enduring financial setbacks, health issues or relational challenges? Maybe you're experiencing loneliness? ?
Do you ever question God? Do you ever get a little impatient in the wait? I know I have.
God is a good God, all the time and yet often we wonder where He is or why we have to go through hard times. Yet, He leads us into a very dark hallway, a transitioning season. It's a place where you learn a deeper trust, a deeper reliance on what the Word says and not on your feelings. You long for God to bring breakthrough or even just the next step, but yet He's pretty quiet. John 16 brings hope, brings purpose to your pain. Ponder these verses regarding your situation.......
20 "You’ll be sad, very sad, but your sadness will develop into gladness.
21-23 “When a woman gives birth, she has a hard time, there’s no getting around it. But when the baby is born, there is joy in the birth. This new life in the world wipes out memory of the pain. The sadness you have right now is similar to that pain, but the coming joy is also similar. When I see you again, you’ll be full of joy, and it will be a joy no one can rob from you. You’ll no longer be so full of questions.
23-24 “This is what I want you to do: Ask the Father for whatever is in keeping with the things I’ve revealed to you. Ask in my name, according to my will, and he’ll most certainly give it to you. Your joy will be a river overflowing its banks!
25-28 “I’ve used figures of speech in telling you these things. Soon I’ll drop the figures and tell you about the Father in plain language. Then you can make your requests directly to him in relation to this life I’ve revealed to you. I won’t continue making requests of the Father on your behalf. I won’t need to. Because you’ve gone out on a limb, committed yourselves to love and trust in me, believing I came directly from the Father, the Father loves you directly. First, I left the Father and arrived in the world; now I leave the world and travel to the Father.”
29-30 His disciples said, “Finally! You’re giving it to us straight, in plain talk—no more figures of speech. Now we know that you know everything—it all comes together in you. You won’t have to put up with our questions anymore. We’re convinced you came from God.”
31-33 Jesus answered them, “Do you finally believe? In fact, you’re about to make a run for it—saving your own skins and abandoning me. But I’m not abandoned. The Father is with me. I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.” John 16:20-33
Once God brings you through (gives birth) you have no memory of pain but JOY overflowing. No longer will you have need to question God, and ANYTHING you ask according to His will is given!!
Its because you persevered in your faith to Him!! And your faith will be unshakeable and you will experience deep PEACE! Oh, how I long for that day.
Trust Him on this journey. Breakthrough is coming! Destiny will be fulfilled! He's in this and He's got you.
Update: We have sent our completed paperwork in for the 501c3. In just a few weeks, God willing, it will be ready to send off to the IRS. Please continue to pray for no hiccups, hinderances or obstacles especially from the IRS.
We are nearing the point of having to make some decisions about jobs, move, etc. As you know we do feel called to open a retreat property here in Eldo, but our finances are almost gone and there are no jobs here that can support us. The enemy would love for us to throw in the towel and leave, walk away from our destiny. It's been a hard faith walk so now more than ever, we covet your prayers for provision - for provision for the vision so we can do what we were made to do. We have done everything we can do in the natural to prepare, now it's up to God.
Praise Report - For those who have prayed for my headaches, thank YOU!! I've had migraine headaches almost daily since 1984. Yes, 1984. As of 10/1, I have not taken any excedrin or other med, which is a huge answer to prayer. I have been taking a mixture of fresh ginger & honey when I have pain and it's working!!! The headaches are not completely gone but they are definitely improving!!! Thank YOU LORD!!
