A Change of Perspective

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.  Colossians 3:2

Perspective:  a particular attitude toward or way of regarding something; a point of view.

Have you ever had a situation in your life that no matter what you did, nothing seemed to change?  The circumstances are unrelenting difficult and there is absolutely nothing you can do to change them?  What happens to your thought life when you are stuck in this rut?  If you're anything like me, you can't seem to focus on anything but the need.  It's  not really a joyful or fun place to be.  Sometimes you just need a good Holy Spirit kick in the pants to get you back on track.

I am going to be more thankful and less worried about provision, lack of sleep, etc.
I am going to be more thankful and trust that God is ALWAYS faithful.
I am going to be more thankful and appreciative of what God is doing now through us.
I am going to be more thankful and live in the moment instead of what's to come.

I am THANKFUL for friends like YOU - who encourage and pray for us!
I am THANKFUL for the Lord's kindness and mercy!
I am THANKFUL for a roof over my head and food on the table!
I am THANKFUL for those of you who send financial support from time to time.
I am THANKFUL for God's sustaining my health.  It could be worse!
I am THANKFUL for being able to WORSHIP AND PRAISE GOD!

This past week, we had a car repair that needed to get done.  Instead of freaking out on how in the world we would take care of it, I simply entered into a time of thanksgiving and praise that God would provide.   And... He did!  He showed up as He always does.    I don't know why I worry about this... I guess because I'm weary of not having the ability to just pay for something.  I guess because when we had good paying jobs, we may have taken it for granted?  It's very wearying to have to rely on "God" for every need, and our flesh would prefer a job that provides sufficient income....but those doors don't seem to open.  The only door that is open is God's faithfulness to provide ALL our needs.   I find it ironic that when I first got saved and learned about having a life verse..... I chose.......

Philippians 4:1And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Little did I know that I would be walking this verse out - needing to, having to and getting to trust God would provide ALL our needs!!!  I always say, be careful what you pray for.  LOL!!

My prayer is that I simply can change my perspective by going before the Lord with PRAISE and THANKSGIVING and KNOWING that HE will provide whatever the need is instead of going into fear or worry.  I believe, help my unbelief Lord! Mark 9:24.

If there is anything I've learned in these past 5+ years of the wilderness season we've been in, is that God is FAITHFUL, even when we are not.  He loves when we enter into Praise &
Thanksgiving because He is worthy of all Praise!!   He loves when we come to Him with faith like a child and trust that He is a good daddy.  This has been a hard concept for me to grasp..... my head knows it, but getting it into my heart is challenging because of growing up with an absentee father.  So my perspective of the Father above has been skewed.

Maybe the reason He hasn't changed our circumstances (yet) is because He wants to change our hearts to be in line with who He is, what His heart is for us?   In order to fully walk into and be prepared for the calling He has on us - to be a refuge for those in need, we need to know how to receive His provision.   I remember years ago, the Lord speaking to me.  He said "you have learned how to give well, now I want you to learn how to receive well."    And now today, He is telling me, "well done, my good and faithful servant.  You have passed the test."  Praise GOD!

Today on Facebook Al Mack wrote this:
"I thought it was darkness trying to overtake me. But it was your shadow."
It's easy to misinterpret things according to our expectations. For that reason (if no other), we must steward our expectations carefully.

Perspective is so valuable.
I love this because it's confirming that when others think we are missing the boat somehow, it may be God all along "overshadowing" us.   This has been my sense for sometime.  It's God that opens and closes doors!

So today, especially, but every day - enter His gates with THANKSGIVING and His courts with PRAISE and your entire perspective will instantly be changed!

I'll end with a fun testimony!

GOD STORY:
Earlier this month a friend of ours was heading to Africa for a missions trip. I told him we would be praying for him. Just before he left, I got a word of knowledge for him.
I just had a vision of you praying over a woman. You're holding her hands like her hands are out in front in receiving position. Not inappropriate. And as you hold her hands I see years of heartbreak in her life healed. I sense you're to pray a father's blessing over her that will speak volumes. She's short and a tad heavy. Maybe 40's -50's in age. Her hair is pulled back. Kind of homely looking. But her countenance will change from oppressed to life and she will have a big smile before you get done praying. Not sure but hear name Carletta??

I just heard breaker anointing. Just your presence and prayer will cause much breakthrough
--------
Here's his response 2 weeks later when he arrived home from Africa!!
I met Carletta . . . .it was profound to say the least . . . Jesus healed a broken heart!
Her name is Corlett . . .but her husband calls her Corletta as an affection term, thats why the Lord called her by the same name to show his affection for her!

Vision
God has given us a vision to build a retreat property along with ministry equipping center.
The retreat portion of our ministry is to provide a safe place for pastors, lay leaders & other ministry folks to come and be refreshed & encouraged through prophetic ministry (if wanted).  We will offer private cabins with kitchens & full bathrooms, and plenty of places to roam on the property to get quiet with the Lord.
We will offer other specialty retreats - marriage, healing, prophetic teaching & activating people into the world & health and wellness retreats and more.

The Lord has graced us with the desire to come alongside the Church - to bring healing, deliverance & freedom to new/newer believers.  We are not wanting to replace their church, but better help them be ready to serve in their church.
In our community building - we will eventually have a 24/7 prayer room, healing & prophetic rooms and a place for community worship services for those on the property.

Our passion is to minister to a lost & hurting world.   To equip the saints to do the same and to be a blessing to our community and surrounding areas.  Our hopes are that we can pour out God's love in a mighty way to bring more and more souls into the Kingdom, get them discipled, called into their purpose & destiny and released to do God's business!!!!  We also have a passion to give generously to help those in need and to help others launch into their God given destinies.
